Purchased 4 gallons. The only thing this helped with was making my old adhesive shiny and slippery.. After 8 hours I have an oily, slippery mess and still breaking my back scraping. Does not work like the video at all! Very disappointed and frustrated.

What is the best best way to remove carpet glue with hardwood floors with your product. Currently in using 747 and let sit for 1 hour per instructions. Wondering if product needs to sit longer to have better penatration for removing carpet glue.

626 is the preferred product to remove carpet adhesive. 747+ mixed 1 to 1 with hot water will help soften the carpet glue.

It depends on the wood.. it probably won’t hurt fir, but I don’t think I would do it with oak or maple.. it can definitely cause cupping.
If the adhesive is really hard, I grind it off with my edger and 12 grit disks.. it’s miserable work, be patient..
That orange citrus stuff works ok too. Not toxic at all..Just do 4’X4’ sections and be patient.

Is Sentinel 626 able to remove adhesive that was used in the mid-1970s to bond vinyl flooring to concrete slabs? To be clear, the vinyl flooring has already been removed. A fine layer of glue remains firmly attached to the concrete and needs to be removed. The glue is extremely durable. If another product is more suitable to remove the glue, please let me know. Your advice is appreciated.

@@bryanbahling2877 Progress on my floor has been put on hold because the overall home will undergo a bigger renovation. I temporarily put cheap carpet over the concrete which still has the adhesive described in my earlier post. I still think about how I'll eventually need to remove the adhesive. I believe the way I'll approach it is to tape plastic painter's tarps on the lower portion of the walls, then wet the floors and use a grinder attached to a shop vac. This will likely be messy since centrifugal force will push water away, but much of the water should still get sucked into the vacuum. The reason I'll wet the floor is to minimize airborne dust from grinding the glue off the concrete. Alternatively, later I may also do research to figure out of any chemicals can break down the glue without damaging the concrete. For example, could acid be used without damaging concrete. I don't know if that might etch the concrete. On the other hand,, if it does, it might not matter if later I plan on having the concrete leveled before a new floor is installed over the concrete. Sounds like you may be targeting completion of your project much sooner than mine. Whatever solution you come up with, I would greatly appreciate if you could reply back with details on your approach to the common problem with both share.

@@RedondoBeach2 thank you for your response. I just started sentinel 747 on a 150 foot area of my basement after the asbestos tile was professionally removed. (Mastic tested negative) and it may have been the biggest mistake of my life. It turns to a tar goo that looks amazingly easy in the videos on TH-cam but in reality I have spent hours scraping and it just becomes a gooyier mess the more I scrape it around. I'm almost in tears. I feel like pushing a lawsuit against this fu***** company. My back is destroyed and I've gotten nowhere. The mess seems to be getting worse. I have no answers.

@@bryanbahling2877 I was not familiar with Sentinel 747 until you mentioned it. I finished watching the linked TH-cam video (titled: Sentinel 747 Fresh Scent Mastic Remover) about the product a minute ago. In the second half of the video the narrator mentions and demonstrates a second product (Sentinel 805) that appears to be used to clean up the Sentinel 747. Have a look at the video. I believe it may resolve the problem you're describing. In any case, I'm absolutely interested in hearing more about how you proceed and results. I empathize with you regarding the physical pain this is causing you. I also had physical pain after removing the vinyl backing. The effort took me 6 weeks of working 12 hour days. As a result of kneeling and bending the way I needed to, I slowly sprained my ankle. So, here's the video link. Truly would like to stay in touch to hear back on your progress. Considering the stress this has caused you so far, I recommend stepping away from the project for at least 1 or 2 days. Get some rest and come back reenergized. th-cam.com/video/ApGgr22z6RE/w-d-xo.html
