In the last video, silverback gorilla Haoko (baby gorilla Sumomo's father) was excited and displaying to female Momoko again.
After that, Haoko came in front of the grid to banged the wall many times.
In this video, Haoko was still excited and had troubles.
Firstly Haoko made his eldest daughter Komomo angry and ran from her.
When Riki was checking mother Momoko’s buttocks, Haoko suddenly attacked Riki, which made his troop gorillas angry.
All of the 6 gorillas of his troop chased Haoko. While running, Haoko attacked and slapped Riki again and Momoko.
Had Haoko and Riki had trouble just before the trouble?
Baby gorilla Sumomo was on auntie Toto's back all the time.

前回の動画では、シルバーバックのハオコ（赤ちゃんゴリラスモモの父親）が興奮気味でモモコに猛アピールし、壁を何度も叩いたりジャンプしながらドラミングをしていました。
この動画では、ハオコはまだ興奮状態でまたトラブルを起こしました。
まず長女コモモとトラブルになり、コモモを怒らせ逃げていました。
その後息子リキがモモコのお尻チェックをしていると、突然ハオコがやって来てリキを攻撃しました。
２回目の攻撃のとき、リキ含め群れのゴリラ達が一斉に怒り、リキに加勢しハオコを追いかけまわしていました。
ハオコは逃げながらもモモコやリキを叩いていました。
確認はできませんでしたが、見えないところでハオコとリキの間に何かあったのでしょうか。
赤ちゃんゴリラスモモはトラブル中も前後もずっとトト♀の背中に乗っていました。

Yep the Silverbacks are all very different. Some of them play with their kids and others do not. Some have a bad temper and some are easygoing.

Something has been bothering Haoko but he got furious when he saw Riki smelling his mother...the females belong to the silverbacks and if he notices something strange he will attack whoever it is.
True. But they don't usually go after a young one. That would be like attacking a baby for breastfeeding. Haoko is just moody

@@charmainejones5620 I agree. But you have to look at what happened with nene and kyomasa, and genki and kintaro. Neither of them got attacked for it. Haoko just seems to be hyper moody.
Haoyo is showing he’s the boss although he’s quickly to show aggression than his brother Shabani!

She knows WHY Haoko is disciplining Riki. Too bad the videographer isn't figuring it out. Riki is literally sticking his nose where it DOES NOT belong and this overt sexual behaviour by another male towards his females will NOT be accepted by the silver back of a troop, PERIOD!! Not to mention that Riki is making advances towards a female relative, which is a huge NoNo. The severity of the discipline will intensify each time Riki does that, so he should cease and desist. I do hope the Keepers are paying attention to what is actually taking place here. Before Haoko has to do some serious damage.

I love garrillas I love the hackco troop I love the way he keeps them in order it's so beautiful to watch I can watch them all day everyday they are amazing and beautiful animals I wish them a long and happy and healthy life with plenty of there favorite 🥑🥝 food 🥝 and plants ☘️☘️ and fruit 🍓🍑 that's what keeps them happy living in cativy cause garrillas are vegetarian I love garrillas so much great video thank you for sharing 🙏🙏🙏❤️♥️ from Brooklyn New York
Haoko is in his prime and deserves at least 2 or 3 females unfortunately there is no more room or females for him. It is what it is I guess . Japan doesn’t move their gorillas around anymore they are precious to them .
I don't understand why people laugh when they see these scenes, there's nothing funny about that... It must be very stressful for the family to see them being attacked by the silverback.😢

Great video. In the last several videos I’ve watched, Sumomo has been clinging nonstop to Toto’s back. Before, she was independent, running around playing with her sisters and Riki as well as sitting around her mother. What happened, she seems to have regressed? Those slaps from Haoko don’t look like much until you realize those silverback taps have been clocked at up to 2700 lbs of force!
The tension in the group is affecting her. Haoko seems to be in a constant bad mood, probably from frustration. Maybe it is time to introduce a new younger female to the group, but Momoko's not known to be nice to other females and could make her life miserable. And I don't think there are any female gorillas in Japan that Haoko could be matched with anyway.

Hoako knows Riki is trying sexual relations with the females especially little suomo, their is a video where it is thought he went to far with little suomo and Toto stopped it and that’s why she became even closer to Toto!!

The annoyed Haoko started here 3:25 when Riki checked mom Momoko's rear end. Haoko became completely aggressive from this point 5:13. 🤔 Haoko has been annoyed for quite a while now. Perhaps it is frustration that the two lady wives are getting up there in age, and aren't much interested in 🌹 romance. Riki is the only male in the family. Perhaps Haoko got upset and targeted Riki for giving his mom a health check 🤷. Perhaps Haoko feels he's loosing control over the troop, but when he becomes aggressive the troop bands together, avoids him, and nobody follows commands. Separating him for a time out wouldn't be ideal, as he may become even more upset that he can't see his family. Maybe the keepers can put him under close observation. He hit Momoko and Riki pretty hard with his fist. Believe me that's a lot of force psi (per square inch). Usually things will calm down in the troop after a while, but Haoko isn't calming down, and it's been about a week of these rampages that are happening quite frequent. Oh dear, what you do? 😒

@@timothyallbritton1961 Oh, you're welcome! I like adding time stamps with explanations, and getting feedback. I may have missed something, or someone else will have a different perspective than I. I love discussing these magnificent primates. They're all my babies 🤣. You're in for a treat with the Haoko family. Each one with their different personalities, even baby Sumomo (Plum) so there's never a dull moment 😀. Silverback Haoko is generally calm, but when something upsets him, he is very sensitive and takes it hard, he gets in scolding/charging mode. Other times he sweet. It just all depends with him. I do love him dearly though he can get grumpy 😁. This is the usual cycle in the troop when he gets rough around the edges, and then things will calm down in a day or two.
Riki shouldn’t be giving his mom health checks and understand why Hoako got upset. Riki has gotten in trouble for giving little suomo health checks also!!
@@VA4LVRS I literally stated "health check" as a metaphor, but actually meant "exploring". I think Riki is discovering female pheromones, and he's becoming curious about the female anatomy 😁. These are gorillas, so...he's 6 years old and big for his age, and may be developing earlier than expected. Toto and Sumomo have been subjected to a "health check" as well. Dad Haoko is ironing out the kinks, and teaching Riki heirarchy rules of what is/is not appropriate. He's a good father. I do think Riki got the message with that 🔥 scolding Haoko put down the other day 😳 so I wouldn't fret about it.

I don’t think he’s been this bad. I think it’s a mixture of wanting Momoko to pay him more attention and Riki maturing. Riki is younger than he looks.

*Can they isolate Haoko? At least for an extended period of time, to make him appreciate his family? He attacks his family seemingly for no reason, and the attacks are becoming more frequent, it seems.*
*Just look at Sumomo 😢. She is normally an active toddler but when she senses tension, she hangs onto Toto for dear life.*

There are times he shows the troop he still in control. The troop is confident he will protect them. He didn't hurt them but makes sure they know.

There's nothing really abnormal about it. It's hard to see especially when you can see it upsets the youngest ones, but gorilla groups go through these periods of tension but they usually resolve themselves over time. It would cause the group far more stress if Haoko was separated from them, as they wouldn't understand what happened.
Haoka acts just like his brother Shabani. He gets a thrill out of starting fights so he can be chased by the other gorillas. However it’s not funny because Sumomo seemed terrified.
Shabani is very different from Haoyo as he have more patience and it’s a very loving gorilla , love to play !

Mama gorilla is like "don't touch my son!" That really pissed her off when Big Daddy attacked her 6 year old son. She went after him when he did that.
When you viewers realize the narrative is dramatic for views, you'll understand that half of whats happening really isnt. Haoko loves to play, but he has to also keep order so Riki doesn't try to have a go at his mother. This is completely NORMAL behaviors.
I just started watching these types of videos. To ME, the folks that own these animals should know these things will happen eventually .You cage young males with females in heat and its leaves to disaster. They don't care where they get the cookies from.Its the same with young humans boys and girls they start smelling themselves at a certain age.These people can't make MONEY by having a calm and " leave it to beaver" atmosphere. That won't make a lot of money. The people want action,drama, and sex( same on tv).God will judge these places for treating his animals this way.I know their habitat is almost gone, but they should have counted the cost before getting them. MONEY!!!

Just be careful of gorilla haters! They will slip in and project their own biases on a particular gorilla. It’s very weird!
@@user-zb3tt6pz9fit took me awhile for this troop, but I found things about them that stood out to me. Komomo, is a younger version of Mom Momoko, Riki has a unique face, he doesn’t look like the females his facial structure is different. Momoka, I see a lot of Gentaro in her face. Toto has Thank you cute hair to the back of her head that stands up and I think that gives her character.

Eu achei muito triste o que aconteceu nessa tropa, Haoko pode sim estar ansioso, é um problema de saúde mental, mas os hormônios estão atormentando e junta que ele gosta da Momoko e quer acasalar com ela, quer que ela corresponda, Rikki está cada dia maior, é novo, mais é um garoto grande, Haoko tem ciúmes, se o ser humano vive estressado que tem liberdade vigiada, imagina viver em um cativeiro, nossa é muito estressante, os visitantes tem um senso de humor mórbido, fiquei mais assustadas com os visitantes do que com o Haoko.
Yes, and really, at 40, Momoko doesn’t need anymore pregnancies. Sumomo was a difficult pregnancy and birth for both her and the baby. She’s mothered a lot of children. Including Momotaro, who had a different sire.

She won't be ready again for a few yrs. Note the ages of her kids. He knows and has to keep Riki in line. Her oldest is momotaro over in kyoto zoo. He's 27 and has a family.
She’s offered herself a few times now. He just keeps charging. He might want Toto but little Plum isn’t going anywhere. He can’t mate with her on Toto’s back.

If you watch without sound or context, this scene looks very stressful for all the gorillas. They are animals and Haoko asserts dominance as he should. The zoo is an artificial environment so we don’t see normal gorilla behavior. I think this family is doing the best they can being captive but still having wild instincts. Please try not to put human emotions on gorilla society.

Overcrowded concrete prison is the main problem. Everyday is the same for these prisoners and for the rest of their life they will be stressed and tense . They don't belong where they are forced to live out their natural lives. Sad very sad. The zoo's aren't saving them , they are only making it worse for them because the real reason for having the gorillas is money for the zoo.

Go watch D’jeeco who always shows displays of affection with his two females n sons n only any aggression when the two females fight n he just breaks it up the way he should n goes about his business! Or Shabani n his big family who is always playing tag n chase with all of them n even has his mother in his troop who’s about 61 yrs old n treats her like any good son would ! Both of them would wipe the floor with Haoko ! I’m only gonna keep watching them bc to see the baby girl grow up n to see them all turn on him !
He runs away because he's playing. Silverbacks do this often.
Not here he isn’t , I’ve been watching gorillas behavior and their families for years n this isn’t playing , not when all the females are going to the bathroom uncontrollably while screaming n the baby’s expression also tells how frightened she is !

She raised him alone as his dad died.He was taken from her at10yrs to be with genki.The video is out of him being put in a box&truck.He was very angry&traumatized.

This same situation happened with another silverback recently. He just charged to scare his son off and show his disapproval. Haoko is doing too much. Maybe he’s unwell.

He was sniffing his mom's butt, which is pretty normal behaviour for gorillas. But Maybe Haoko interpreted it the wrong way.
It looked to me like Riki was checking his mum's nether regions and sniffing his hand, which is what male gorillas do when checking if their females are ready for mating. Dad didn't approve, but you could say that's how gorillas learn about these things.

Haoko keeping everyone in line. He's boss and sometimes they need reminding. He runs away because he doesn't really want to hurt them, just discipline them, he isn't scared of them and could take them all on at once if he wanted to. He really needs more wives.
I disagree this time, he hit Riki numerous times. A hit from a silverback is very strong. He even slapped Momoko. He’s not like Shabani. Haoko is quick to anger.

Seems like training to me....do yall really think that big of a gorilla would run if it didnt want to? Its sorta like making your son tough type of thing.
When animals.are in captivity its up to the captors to keep them safe. In the wild these animals are free to run away. If they are going to hold them captive then they need to protect them. That male needs to be moved away from the rest of them.

I find it interesting that pandas, orcas and elephants in zoos are separated from family because of their gender or because they spat or "fight" and then get along again. The monkeys, gorillas, chimps, lions, tigers, zebras, giraffes, etc. stay together in family groups and have offspring, and yet the gorillas and chimps can be violent and have even killed their own and others' offspring.
Violence displayed by gorillas and chimps are night & day.

Is there a lot of in breeding amongst them. And that enclosure is mainly concrete and it’s so sad to see them in there. As the years go by and they have more babies when it is over crowded what are they going to do. It will happen they can’t just keep,on adding to this group! And where is the grass and trees, concrete jungle. 😢
