My new superstition: driving home w my daughter to CO from FL, stopped for gas and hauling ass, took a wrong turn in Tyler, TX (mother was end of life), as I found a side street to turn around on - a black chicken crossed the road in front of us. We told each other jokes about why the black chicken crossed the road for days. Late thank you to Amy, I Loved loved her helping the girls bedazzle their scanners. It’s the content of the little ones at the track that really melts my heart.
Laughed entirely too hard at the couch fireballs. Dale is like a big kid and that's what makes him so relatable to most of us. Edit: Amy seems really down to earth with a great personality, they compliment each other well.

Google Christmas Pickles, they are amazing. Boil down the Pickle juice with Cinnamon Redhots and a little sugar and pour over the Pickles and seal for a few day's. I just made a jar last week lol

I'm sure this has been suggested already but Amy should write a cookbook and talk about what they like, don't like and especially stuff that she likes to make and Jr. does not like and she makes them anyway. Also include anything Jr. cooks if he does cook. Maybe that's a separate book from his bachelor days.
I'm with Dale on preparing yourself before entering a dangerous activity. Especially flying. I say my prayers and know i will be in a better place if i dont make it. Makes sense to me. Hot air balloons are great fun as long as you have a good pilot. Do your research.
Best oysters I had were with vodka. They filled a bottle 3/4 full of black pepper corns. Topped it off with vodka and let it sit for 3 weeks. Amazing flavour. Great show thank Amy.
When I was in a yuouth home, a hot air balloon from a festival went down in our back yard as we were getting home from church. Their chase vehicle was like 5 minutes away due to the local roads being restrictive, so they asked if we could catch and bring them down. Lee Lee ran and lept to catch the basket. I just tripped and happened to also catch on at the same time. The others also participated, but I only remember the one guy in front being all majestic. Didnt expect to think about that at 3 in the morning.
My youngest (who just gave birth to her first child named Ila Wren) dressed up as a cat. With the ears headband, paw gloves, a tail, literally the whole kit and caboodle every day for more than a year. She would go outside and get on her hands & knees, lick her “paws” and meow & the local colony of feral cats until she earned their trust so she could pet them 😂and be part of their colony 😂😂. The mermaid story made me think of it
Dale is 100% not on an island with the “if this is the way I go, it’s ok” mindset. I’m not a race car driver (touché with Amy’s observation about that), but I am a racing photographer. I have that mindset too, mainly because I’m outside the race cars and not in control of *anything* that happens, and I’ve had that talk with my significant others before. “Look, this is what I do for work. It can plausibly be incredibly dangerous, especially when I’m standing right next to Top Fuel and Funny Cars launching, let alone if I shoot near the track farther down. I accept I’m in a dangerous position and I accept the consequences therein because it’s what I love to do. If you’re not ok with that, then I understand if that’s not something you want to be attached to.”
You talked about dying taking a flight & talking to yourself about I don't wanna die this way, try being in a plane or blackhawk doing manuevers going out to the field for bivuac. Done both & what a wild ride
@29:19 they mentioned sushi. What he says about oysters applies to sushi too. Many people that think of sushi think raw, gross, etc. Go with something not raw with sushi. I did that and liked it for a few years. Then I had the chance to sample raw sushi (tuna) at a grocery store (with an actual sushi chef). Yeah I walked out buying some.
Dale, i do the same thing when we take off in a jet airplane. Love the rush of speed... but always doing the same thing that if this is the way i go... this is good way.
