Dude! So rad to see, thanks for sharing so much of your vault. Dorian played on so many fav tracks of mine from back then, many of which you worked on too.
Did he play on every song on the three records you did with them? How many other drummers were involved? Did Nick play on any of the final takes for any songs? I’ve spent the last 18 years as a dedicated fan (and drummer) always wondering who’s playing drums on each JB song.
@@johnstrawberriusfields John, thank you for responding to this comment so quickly. Those three albums were my introduction into the pop rock world, I am a career drummer now who literally learned drums by learning how to play those three albums front to back when I was a kid in 06-09. That drum question was plaguing my mind for literally years and you just answered it so quick. I would pay a lot of money to watch a documentary or gather all the info about the writing, demoing, recording process of these albums. How much of the guitars were done by the boys and how much of the guitars were done by session musicians, how much of the stuff from the Gibson recording bus actually made it onto the record, and how much of that was scratch, How much of the songs did the boys have written before they came into the studio to work with you. These albums kickstarted everything for me.
@@jasonflanders5643 all guitars were played by the band and I with john taylor playing solos. there were rough demos on the 1st album, but after that not so much. creating from scratch in the studio was the MO.
@@johnstrawberriusfieldsamazing, so basically what their live setup was as well! Thank you so much for this info, John, someday I hope to see some deep dive content into the making of these albums. Appreciate you responding to me. Those guitar, drum, and writing/recording processes questions have been living rent free in my head for years.
I also find the Band In A Bus series really cool. Would love to know how much of the final product (if any) came from those bus sessions. So cool that you have all this footage.

So sick. Thanks for sharing. Was Jordan interning with you at this time?
yup, he was the assistant engineer at cherry beach during this session
That's amazing! Do you happen to have any videos from the recording of Visualize?
i do
That would be so cool to see! Although I think there were clips of this in the "Movie". The one with you guys and a couple other Mpls bands.
