    Great playing as always.

    • @krenwregget7667
      @krenwregget7667 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kevinhartnell2075 - I've been a carpenter for 25+ years and built several quiet rooms like this, including one for a major studio. I've done both with carpeted floors and laminate/wood floors. I'm simply curious as to his decision and how he arrived at it as I prefer carpet.

    • @krenwregget7667
      @krenwregget7667 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kevinhartnell2075 - Hi Kevin, I've been drumming for almost 30 years (semi-pro for a while) and I get that some players/engineers prefer a more "live" room, but that can be achieved as easily as moving/removing baffles and panels like you said. In my opinion, carpet not only helps soak up ambient audio but helps keep gear in place, is better for dust control, helps absorb vibration and is more comfortable on the feet as I tend to be barefoot in the studio. Just my opinion.

    Great stuff, nice overall look and sound treatment. I *think* those wall studs were appear to be installed 16" on center? Any particular reason why 24" on center couldn't do the job? Do those wood acoustic panels affixed to the wall require a shorter stud spacing?

    • @Fenoren
      @Fenoren 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The rolls of sound barrier in the floor most likely acts as a moisture barrier, because it's a rubber sheet over an inch thick, and taped at all the seams.

      yeah, it’s expensive. but there are things that a person can do to achieve good results within their respective budget. carter uses the best stuff... all the time. he just doesn’t settle. but there is tons of cheaper stuff you can get to make one of these, even if it’s just in a room in your house. starting with putting a solid core door on the room, you’ll have already eliminated a bunch of noise leakage. watch rDavidr’s video where he sound proofs a room. really interesting stuff.
