my clumsy piano interpretation of the brilliant 1984 Todd/Utopia song. no particular arrangement kinda went from verse 2 and out... just tried getting all the juicy chords in there. no one else writes like this. thank you todd.

It was always about me & we. And our special love.We are sad but we will carry on with our faith & love/friendship.
the album ’here we go again’ is a masterpiece, no skips !!
great cover, interesting to note, not many covers of this song around, showing how complicated it is..
Daaaaaamn!✊️
I still 💟 Curtiss A.
This is cool to see. I have a tape of this band from sometime in the late 80s early 90s. I had a roommate at penn state that was on some committee to schedule bands for the hub. He would get demo tapes from band. And I made a copy of this one. Still have this one, every few years I pull out the tape deck and play some tapes. Always enjoy this one.
Where was I at? I had no idea she had songs produced by Jesse and then to find out pretty much Prince dealt with her pretty much before he did? She sounds just like Margaret Coxx in Everybody Dance to the Tee!!! Honaaa’e yes!!!
This is wonderful! It brings back some great memories for me. Waymon and James were friends of mine years ago and we were on the same bills at some NYC clubs when they were called Hidden Persuaders. Last year I paid tribute to this song. Did I do it justice? th-cam.com/video/eqJgZw3HoS0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=WXClH5U0VsGtn98a
This gig was clearly amazing, but these videos haven't been gathered together in a simple compilation. This video is a nice element, but there needs to be one telling us who the musicians are, and what are their other projects. Their talent and their choice of XTC impresses me. I'd like to navigate from this gig to other destinations. Who is the bassist? Who is the guitarist nearest the mic in most of the shots? Who's on drums? You captured great work here. Please round out the meta-data when you can.
thanks tony. organization is not my strong suit! i'll try to make a playlist. this gig is an annual XTC tribute. just finished its 9th year in minneapolis MN. organized by Paul Boblett (bass) we are all SUPER HUGE XTC fans

Ok. Just stop. This was clearly an epic gig. I hope John will create a playlist that separates these videos from the other fare he has offered, and provides a bare minimum sense of who are the performers, the venue, etc. In particular, I see Matt Kirkwold plays a Squier guitar. It serves him admirably. But if he still has this and would like to advance up the Fender chain, I'd certainly be a funder of this initiative. He is amazing.
Please respect the daisies. Thank you!
Bug, BTC, and THRUSH are three bands I’m bummed to have missed out on, live.
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery
That drummer is a whole mood
That's a pretty damn good cover of that song. Well done!
Kool
Nunca me hubiera imaginado que el cantante era de raza morena.
Who are they? and do they do anymore XTC covers
its a once a year benefit concert in minneapolis. the latest was on 10/24/24 (a few weeks ago)
LUV! FOREVER!
“All night dancing” is a mammoth song and their best effort far superior to funky town. The keyboard solo is a masterpiece.
That hair . Such dreamboats❤
Great 👍
FANTASTIC!!!
Rare footage! Thank you for sharing!!!
That was bloody excellent.
Micheal is a blessing ❤
Dude !!! Tell those people to move or sit down .
This is the good stuff 💯
great vocals
Who’s singing that demo vocal?
i think it was tim james
Absolutely marvelous. One of my favorite albums ever, I loved it when I was 9 and I'm still listening at age 23 today. Thank you both for your forever work.
Wow. An XTC tribute band is wild in itself, but to pick a left-of-center track like Complicated Game is wonderfully unexpected.
the energy from del amitri has gone i was 12 years old when the first album was released , this here is a band from times gone by, still good dont get me wrong but just not them
you guys are so fucking cool it hurts! i feel bad for the world that they don't know you.
wow, im crying
(The) Terry is touring EXTC. Love to hear his thoughts on this...
That is great! In so many ways...
Such a haunting song - you guys got it right on
I liked the behind the scenes footage of the making of this album! I wished that thrkerexwas more footage or my brother Joe on the drum kit! Also this album happens to be one of my favorite DTJ albums! Are there any plans to put the album back on band camp as well as possibly posted on TH-cam and Apple Music in the near future? I’d like to have those albums, of course to help complete my catalog of Dovetail Joint recordings, including my now somewhat rare CD copy of Dovetail Joint’s original so-called white album that was recorded independently back in 1993 in Iowa city Iowa
Probably the best cover of this particular XTC song I've heard. Getting that sound is rough, but you guys nail it. Right before they went for the more studio/pastoral sound to boot. Excellent job on this.
total agreement. I need to learn more about the guitarist nearest the camera. He better be British, or this is a fraud!!!
Is that some sort of physical click on Adam right pocket when playing piano to keep in tune? 6:05
haha. no, that's a 2002 cellular phone ™
Awesome
Please post more!!! Still love this album and band. Was told once they had a second album ready to go back then.
Always loved his voice. And I really miss NU107 fm
So good! Miss seeing Brian around
They sound good live! I wish they were still a band ☹️
Good gawd…over 50 years later, this guy…true Wizard
