Shahbanu Farah Pahlavi has grace and intelligence. Life hasn't been easy for her but she never shows any bitterness. She has strong faith to Iran.

A sad puppet who put the love she had for her husband, above all others , while never being able to understand why the changes happened during his cruel control. He was a severe ruler who locked up people who tried free speech. She still does not see, the Iranian people were sick of them. She is now, surrounded by upper class exiled Iranians who would love to see the past, come back again. These people are her support while enforcing her delusions, all living in a distant and glorious, luxurious past. These are not the majority of the Iranian people. In a way, it is their fault, the country fell into the hands of the radicals. It could have become a regular democracy, but the shah would still have been in control, so you cannot have both. He had to go and the clericals made sure of that. They have some improvement to do, in becoming more free and liberal as people do not do well, long term suffocated by archaic concepts. Farah will not live long enough to see a change in Iran but her son is never going to be the "ruler" of Iran. That is a certain reality. He can stop the dream. The planet has different plans.....

Shahbanou Farah Pahlavi is the Queen of hearts. Look her charm, look her love for human Rights and still Europe and USA were pushing to replace this family for Khomeini's family. For 45 years the Western countries benefited financially from these Mullahs and closed their eyes on their terror. Now, it is your turn to see what Iranians lived in the passed 45 years. Do you see how your cities and universities are evolving? wait and see. If you are not looking for World War III, the Pahlavi family can still help you. Stop the politic Islam in your country.

Mossadegh the democratically elected leader who preceded Reza Pahlavy was ousted by the CIA because he took back Iran's oil industry which was primarily in the hands of the British, Amerocans and French and nationalised it. Before the nationalisationn Iran was getting only a miniscule percentage of oil revienues. British Petroleum got disgustingly wealthy on the back of Iranian oil. The US was able to take back control of Iranian oil reserves once the pro-West Reza Pahlavi was reinstated. Iran's coffers overflowed with the 1973 oil crisis and instead of investing in infrastructure and in other areas which would have built a sound foundation for Iran, he invested hugely in arms and weapons which were imported from the US. Pahlavi's was to make Iran a super-power in the Middle East. His white revolution did not bring any advantages to rural Iran. More than half the country's population remained poverty ridden. And then the mother of all glas to mark 2500 years of Iranis monarchy.....Pahlavi was also very insecure about the fact that his days of glory were very much dependent on the largesse of the US.

Mossadegh was not democratically elected. I’m not sure why people keep repeating this when it’s not true. Also, the CIA was nearly as not as involved as people think.

    • @gordygordy1003

Don't forget that Mossadegh tried to sieze power from the King. Besides, King sacked him legally.

Evidently she seems to be a lovely person. However, as much as I feel her pain for having lost her husband and two of her children to suicide, I also see a woman who never was able to look outside of her luxurious life. She was seen as a potential surrogate to raise children for him, especially sons. They had the decadent, luxurious coronation ceremony, spending money, the Iranians did not have, while making sure, the locals were kept out of the way and out the sight of the lavish event. Shortly after that slap in the people's face , the revolution happened and the clerical ( radicals ) took over. They should have seen it coming. They were and evidently still are in denial of the situation. Yes, the clerics taking over is not a good thing, but that monarchy provoked the dangerous situation. Monarchs are obsolete.....there is not validation for their luxurious and decadent lifestyle while ordinary people are suffering. She never noticed it.....too busy with her friends and entourage. Should have been a clue when no one wanted to give them asylum after they left. They were lucky they left with their lives. Now, Iranians have free education including in Universities and free medical care but to appear like a Westerner is frown upon. Is it a fair exchange ? no mini skirts ? well......priorities have their values. BTW, she seems very comfortable financially so, they did not leave empty handed. I expect some Swiss bank accounts were happy to accommodate their transfers. The Shah was a puppet of the CIA..with business transactions that allowed him to collect a lot of money. So much for the "Iranian People".......There will never again be any sort of king, queen or whatever. The royals from the UK are likely feeling the pressure now, as the people are tired of luxuries, they can only see in museums...Is Farah still clueless ? my observation tells me she is. Not likely she will ever see the reality of what has happened in her old country. She was also unable to see two of her children suffering from chronic depression, like their father. We have meds for that........They should have been on them. Too sad she missed it. Again, clueless.....

Obviously you know absolutely nothing about this woman and all that she did for Iran. Bc of her, women got the right to vote, among many many other things. Also, monarchies are obsolete now, but you're talking about Iran before the 1980s. Plenty of monarchies were around then that aren't now. But they didn't get replaced with the utter fiasco that is the Islamic Republic. There is so much misinformation in your post that it's almost laughable you would post when you have so many ideas that utterly false and it's so obvious you know nothing other than what you heard in a 19 minute interview here. If you want to truth (including the role the U.S. played), watch some documentaries on her.
