😮 wow very very entertaining my wonderful friends in jersey 11 out of 10 to everyone involved in this beautiful parade every year and well done to the juniors who eventually took first prize ✅ did I notice ⭐ Angie enjoying the party with a gin and tonic lol🤔 Tom! Well you have some lovely 👍 up tonight my friends God bless you all take care all the best John
Hi John, I have a house full of people from the Boro tonight (Della and Colleen are over) and Callum and I are just about to watch the game (away to Leeds). Come on the Boro! 👍🏻
That was amazing, congratulations to everyone involved. I've never been so this was great to see, and I'm sure I will be watching this many more times. Thanks for filming this Tom. Angie looks like a girl after my own heart, I would have worn my shoes out dancing if I'd been there😂😂
Thanks, Tom, for this brief highlights show of Jersey's brilliant Flower Festival. In contrast to the unremitting sad news and challenging features your short film had me smiling from beginning to end. Absolutely brilliant. P.S. Chuffed to see you've broken the 800 subscribers barrier. Well deserved and well done.
What a lovely summers evening for a great display Tom , I only have seen it once a very long time ago with TV personality Leslie Crowther sat along side the BOF queen and at night the main attraction was singer Matt Monroe . The missus stole the show with her dancing 👍👍 well done as always Tom.
@@thereluctantoutdoorsman He came over to me and the missus and sang to us Softly I will leave you... still have the photo and in colour 😀 I aim to get over again in early October just for a couple of days as I have plans to go to Thailand in November for see my wife and kids.
This was absolutely amazing, Tom! Every float was fantastic, well done to all involved. We really must come over and see the Battle of Flowers, its one thing we haven't seen in Jersey 😊🎉
Hi (multi-channel) Sheila! 😁 We actually really enjoyed the evening although we probably should have paid a few pounds extra for the posh seats. We only paid £15 for the tickets which included the excellent concert by UK Queen at the end. Well worth the money! 👍🏻
@@thereluctantoutdoorsman 😂multitasking! My husband checked the prices tonight possibly for next year and I think if we go we might push the boat out and pay the £35!
I tell you what John........they played some really good stuff and that was almost entirely non-starters from Saturday! It could be Boro's year my friend! 👍🏻
Hi Tom my parents always wanted to come to your Inland to see the battel of the flowers but the hotels and gest houses wanted to much money. I just witched that i could show them your pod cast Thanks so much for you post Best Regards Dez
I always thought the night parade looked better than the daytime parade. My wife has just told me that it was better when she was a girl with more floats and real flowers thrown at the end of the day but everything moves on. I don’t know if it’s a different queen tribute band but I remember seeing them in the people’s park one year and truly excellent. Hope you both had a nice time.
Hi Nic, yes I think your wife is correct.......I remember more floats and definitely more made out of real flowers. Having said that I think they have had to modernize (and presumably cut costs a bit) to survive and several of the paper flower floats looked great. They also dropped the fireworks and replaced it with the Queen tribute band. I think some people were disappointed at no fireworks, but the band were great fun and they went down very well with the crowd! I know that there are several Queen tribute bands knocking about, so I'm not sure if they were the same band who performed in The People's Park (I suspect not, as the lead guitarist was a Jersey boy who said he hadn't been back for ages!). 👍🏻
The last of my Jersey relatives died this year. I have been visiting the island for 66 years so far but I don't know if I can come again so Video is a great reminder. Many thanks.
Hi and thank you so much for taking the time to comment. Wow, 66 years of memories! I'm sure if you have a browse through my channel you will see videos on many places you have visited before. Thanks once again.
Hi Henry, Great to hear from you (despite leaving in 1995 Hong Kong still means so much to me!). Thanks so much for watching and for taking the time to comment! 👍🏻
@@thereluctantoutdoorsman I’m actually visiting jersey on 29-31st Dec, will there be anything special or is the island pretty much dead because everyone is spending Christmas and new year elsewhere?
Hi Henry, no it's not like Hong Kong at Chinese New Year, where everyone seems to disappear off the streets! 😁 People tend to go out in Jersey in the lead up to the new year and bars / restaurants can get quite busy. Having said that, there has definitely been a gradual change of culture over here with less people going out at night than they used to when I was in my twenties in the late 1970s! Town today is a lot quieter than it used to be!
Hi, there are two Kenyans working at the golf club. Next time I see them I'll ask them how they got to come over to work. Thanks for watching the channel. 👍🏻

Absolutely fantastic, been going now for........ We'll before I was there 1982.......bet there's plenty on the lash tonight.
It was a good night out............and surprisingly pints of beer from the stalls were cheaper than in the pubs! 🍺🍻👍🏻
