This episode went from drama to romance to comedy to a horror show. Kathryn Hahn and Joe Locke have such incredible comedic chemistry! I can’t imagine how much fun they had filming those scenes 🤣
It wasn't a random "reach" with having Jen's YT channel up for him 'cause he stated, when they first met, about how much of a fan he was of her and that is also how he knew all about her legal problems, which eventually convinced her to join the coven.
I think the tears were also because she actually cared for Billy and Tommy...you know in an Agatha kinda way lol she has known them their literal entire lives
Yes, this is what Jac Schaeffer said about it: “To me, I feel that moment is about her beholding his potential. I mean, I think it’s about her seeing this powerful witch in front of her. And you know, all she did with Wanda, once Wanda knew who she was, all they did was fight. And so, at this point in the narrative, there’s conflict between Agatha and Billy, but they’re standing there and they’re talking, and I think she is just enraptured by who he is. I do think part of that is, I think that there are fond feelings and fond memories of of their time together when he was little Billy, and I think she was, in a way, nosy neighbor. She was, in a way, the babysitter. Like, I think every role that Agatha plays, she believes a little bit. It’s a little bit of herself, and a little bit of her essence, and her soul. But I do think that the tears in the eyes, I think it’s pride.”
Such a heartbreaking episode seeing the Kaplans lose their son and not know it. It's also sad seeing how Wanda's and Agatha's spells messed with the residents of Westview, especially Ralph. It's also hilarious seeing the real version of Teen and Agatha meeting.
The lights were flickering in the tent because Lilia was having a vision. They also flickered at her home in episode 1 when she went into a trance and wrote the coven names on the eviction notice.
Remember how Agatha told Rio that there had been a car crash and she'd thought it was connected but couldn't shake the feeling that she was seeing it wrong in ep1.
During the interrogation scene, as it played out in Agatha's head, she noticed he had black fingers, just like Wanda did when she possessed the Darkhold.
I watched Agatha because of Joe Locke and Heartstopper. He really shows his versatility as an actor in this episode. Loved your reaction. You are the best reactors I have seen. Thankyou
You guys didn't say anything about the 🖤 we emoji. Lilia didn't know Teen's name because of the sigil. So she drew a black heart, no for Rio, but Billy. Rio was a red herring.
If you have time, rewatch when Lilia gives Billy his reading in the tent -- pause when you see him in the crystal ball. It's him, but not the current version -- future him - that takes place in an episode after episode 6. It happens real quick and I missed it the first time.
@DavidLari Hahaha, some of us have to work you know. I have watched the Marvel Assembled featuring 'The making of Agatha All Along' twice though. That should count for something
I don't think the youtube videos were a reach. Teen told Jen that her videos cleared up his skin issue in the second episode. So of course he had the video ready to go, just like I have notifications set for this channel. All in all great reaction. Looking forward to the rest of this season from you guys.
Fun reaction to this excellent episode. Poignant in the beginning with William Kaplan & his parents, then sweet with Billy & his boyfriend, and then very funny with "Ralph" and the actual version of the interrogation scene. Love Kathryn Hahn & Joe Locke together. Looking forward to the last three which are great.
One thing I loved is after this episode, Jac Shaeffer and Joe Locke both confirmed that the Black Heart was always Billy. If Rio was meant to be in the coven her name could have been written down, but Billy's could not. It also meant that Billy was a member of the coven from the start.
So I think it’s important to remember that any conveniences with the meeting of the characters from the coven was already explained in the second episode when Agatha explains that covens are brought together by fate. So if something feels too convenient it’s because that’s on purpose
Regarding the sigil plot point, I think I can explain one plot hole, it makes sense that Lilia and "Teen" wouldn't recognize each other when they meet at the start of the show because it was William NOT Billy that she met at his Bar Mitzvah, she placed the sigil and he was a literally different person, but he was Billy when Alice came in the scene of the accident so why didn't she remember his face, I think her job was the reason. She was a police officer and it had been a brief single meeting three years earlier, so she would likely not remember him even without the magic of the sigil.
As always, love your channel. My fondest wish wouod be that you follow this up by reacting to Heartstopper, also starring Joe Locke. It will not disappoint and it would be such a delight to get tonride along while you take the journey of that show. Thank u for what u do here. Liked and shared.
The showrunner Jac Schaeffer has talked about Billy becoming William/Billy Kaplan as a sort of a fated “mystical intermingling” of two boys who were fated to become one. She’s also talked about the commonalities between them, both being witchy, both being gay… So much of the show feels like it’s about the “mysterious forces of fate” drawing this coven together and guiding their journey. I don’t think Billy actually knew how the sigil worked, that it was redacting his identity from witches, or that he had to have the tile physically on his person for it to work. I think the sigil broke when Agatha realized who he was and it was no longer needed, and him crushing the tile was more symbolic than anything else.
Agatha told Billy that sigils aren't lifted, they're destroyed. Billy chose to destroy it in his hand because he judged it to be no longer needed. At least that's how I read it.
@ Ooh so actually, I looked back on one of Jac’s post-episode interviews, and this is what she said about it: “When we revisit the moment of the sigil in Agatha’s house, he says William Kaplan first, and then he says Billy Maximoff, because it’s like a deep, dark, scary suspicion that he’s Billy Maximoff, and he doesn’t know for sure. It’s only after his power manifests for the first time - those blasties are the first time he’s ever had that capacity. It’s only then that he fully understands the Billy Maximoff piece and embraces it. I think I would imagine, this is me and my interpretation, it’s been scary up to that point, and also a little bit like when you’re afraid of believing even something good and big about yourself. Am I talented? Am I special? I don’t know. Am I capable of good things or really terrible things? I don’t know. So that, to me, is, when it breaks, it’s no longer needed, because he has stepped into an understanding.” (This was in Deadline, I believe she did interviews with Deadline, The Wrap, and Variety after each episode was released.)
Lilia is the one who make multiverse of madness happened in the first place😂, wanda did not know Billy its still in 616 Universe because of the sigil. And Because of that wanda want Chavez power to serching tommy and billy in another universe and killing heroes in that universe, omg😂. but i think lilia have good reasons for doing that right? 😅
@@randompeople465 I would say the corruption of the Darkhold had a lot to do with the Multiverse of Madness. Wanda would have killed the Kaplans anyway

23:03 It is a very big deal! Do you remember what happened to Stephen Strange when he did the same thing with his own variant in Multiverse of Madness? If not, here you go: th-cam.com/video/qqfc0sFqupo/w-d-xo.htmlsi=0XCTSgr-4NQNYWFy&t=147 This series makes Multiverse of Madness a much better movie. It drove her mad; she went from universe to universe looking for them ='(
@@enadegheeghaghe6369 I think the Darkhold helped, but we can see that she was still very much in charge of what she was doing, so I don't know if I agree with the idea that "the Darkhold drove her mad." The Darkhold corrupts those who use it, sure, but even Agatha knew what she was doing while using it.
Agatha is partly saying the things to Billy she wished her coven had said to her, rather than labeling her as evil, and it's also that she's always been a rule breaker so to her it isn't a big deal. She's telling him not be ashamed for surviving. They come from very different places morality-wise, but Agatha still cares for Billy.

Did you watch WandaVision? Billy was a week old at most, not 10. He jumped from a baby y to his final form in a matter of days, once right in front of his parents just so he could get a dog.
Even Peter's character is not 'crazy.' Deeply traumatized by a gangster-witch and extra paranoid about witches as a result, sure [you would be too lol] but crazy? he was just sharing facts. 🤣 normies just don't like that he wasn't dressed like a movie star, polished to perfection. xD

She seems like she may have a soft spot for children, she definitely has a history of sparing children (Salem’s Seven for example)
