Just came across this review, made me laugh as I haven’t watched any of your content for a while now and that I bought one of these yesterday.

Just found this review - I bought the same model, 13 reg, in 2017 and I love it - Italian Racing Red, black pack (including the 20" wheels, no chrome anywhere and, erm, pretend carbon fibre inside where yours is gloss black ) and sunroof.
Funny thing is, I didn't even know it has cooled seats! You live and learn 😄.

My Father owned a XF Sporting brake several years ago, I drove it and thought it was a nice drive. Turbo lag was terrible but it was a fast car for a diesel. Towed race car trailer well and the tan leather was nice. He traded it along with his 5 litre XK8 last shape with lots of money up front and bought a brand new XF R-Sport sedan. Which is the turbo petrol engine.

    • @-A-lm5xb
      @-A-lm5xb 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

Either had the old 2.7 diesel engine or had a problem with set up if turbo lag was bad. It was a problem on early models but the 2.7 engine was soon dropped.

Had Audi A6, BMW 530D and now the Jag xfs saloon. BMW had nothing but issues, The Audi was a nice car but lacking in power as it was the 2ltr and it was a bit hungry. The Jag hasn't given me a single problem and the MPG for a 3ltr is good. All cars can be unreliable, it's all luck really

Middle aged people? Anybody in the market for an estate car should consider one of these. Fantastic cars, difficult to fault in any way. Take no notice of the gear selector not rising and getting stuck, if it does happen you can still turn it and put the car into gear but I've had 3 of these and never had a problem.

They need to be maintained, 6k oil changes max, use the very specific spec C1 oil only. No, any 5w30 full synthetic will NOT do. Funny how this engine fails on people 30k oil changes by the dealer, but not on enthusiasts who look after it 😂

@@tipptop9 totally agree, I've had 3 of these with no issues at all, and the first one had 140k on it. But I always change the oil every 6 months or 6000 miles. Only ever use C1.

Nice car, but if you are middle aged guy with a family you definitely don't want something that breaks that often and should go for 5 series estate ... still plenty pleasant to be driven in, reliable, lots of space, great safety and if you want to overtake it will not blow it's gasket on you. Also you don't look like discount east end gangster :)

Fair play on the reliability. The cars aren't too bad but the engines are a bit notorious. However, the BMW is no better really. They're fraught with issues. The only car that's worthy is a E350 CDI.

@@Spac8 News to me. The 3.0d is a solid engine and has stood the test of time. Earlier 2.7d wasn't brilliant but was reliable. Most owners rate them and the one thing that's never mentioned as a problem is the engine.

@@-A-lm5xb It's the same engine as the Land Rovers. They crack plastic intake manifolds which cost a fortune, they also snap, yes, SNAP, the front portion of the crankshaft off. Type in "Lion V6/TDV6 problems." They're not a good engine, not by a long shot. I've seen enough in my mates garage with issues to not go near.

Only problems are people who say there are problems with them but have never owned or driven one. Most reliable brand I've ever had, now on my third and no problems with any of them. If you look on the Jag forums the telling points is that most owners seem to buy another Jag once they've had one. They also used to top the JDPower and other reliability surveys regularly when they came out.
