  • Introduction to the Pleiades, perhaps more commonly known as The Seven Sisters. This is the first part of three videos that will explain the significance and naming of the Pleiades. The location of the Pleiades on the Star Maps of Gwynedd is shown and explained.
    In the second video, the astronomical motion will be examined, so we can understand what the ancient astronomers saw, and that will explain in the third video the naming, descriptions and myths about the Pleiades.

    Dear Hugh, thank you for writing ‘Origin of the Zodiac.’ It’s remarkable. The detail you present, the beautifully written field notes, the way you’ve used Stellarium software, the photos and artwork, references to the Mabinogi, all work together so that a layman such as myself is able to make sense of what you reveal. It is astounding and I do hope that the book and your videos reach a wide audience. As to the mindset of our ancestors - leaves me speechless. What a voyage for you and your partner!
    I still find it ‘passing strange’ that just after seeing your video about the Pleiades and then sitting down to watch the Indigenous Rugby match that the ‘welcome to country’ included reference to the Seven Sisters.

      Thank you for your comment and kind words. I'm glad you enjoy my work and find it interesting.
      Yes, the remnants of our antediluvian history are few, mostly hidden but perhaps deeply set and maybe we can see them if we know how to look.
      I agree about 'the mindset of our ancestors'; they were as able as we are, perhaps more in tune with nature and the heavens.
      There are prehistoric farms and communities on the Star Maps of Gwynedd, I have been there myself.

    There is a 7 sisters in the Neath Valley. The story goes that a miner, Evan Evans had 1 son and 7 sisters. I am of the view that this may just be an urban myth and the name is much more ancient than the story. Great presentation Hugh.Keep on keeping on.

      Thanks Andrew. I have seen Seven Sisters on maps, quite close to Coelbren from memory. Yes, I would think that the local story is an urban myth.

      Yes- I have been thinking about the place name for a while too. I'm not buying the story of the guy marrying off his 7 daughters.

    Hi Hugh, came back here to watch these again as I've just signposted another Zodiac Decoder to your channel. His name is Micah Dank and I've seen a couple of his vids and he has a similar, not same approach to explaining his findings. You might find it useful.
    By the way I hope you're doing ok my friend! Been a while since you posted a vid but I recall you had other commitments last time we spoke.
    Thanks again for your videos.

    Good presentation Hugh. The Pleaides must have been very important to the ancients. The 7 mountains were brilliant. I didnt really take much notice when you named The 'Accent of the Jewels' untill i saw the Pleaides rising. It is very well named. Must be a beautiful sight.
    I received your book today The Origin of the Zodiac. It arrived fast, thank you. Got right into it. On page 2, figure 2 is the cave painting of Orion and the Pleaides and i was wondering if you have seen the work of Wayne Hershall. He thinks he has cracked a code that connects Us with Orion and the Pleaides as a point of origin. He has deciphered many tablets and cave paintings and found Orion and Pleaides in a few places around the world.
    Great presentation Hugh and looking forward to getting stuck into your book. Thank you ❤

    So we can safely say that this Star map wasn't just found by coincidence by the locals, but maybe the Star maps had been searched for by some priestly order for a very long time before the location was found. You can imagine sea faring Priests of the oldest orders of mankind searching the world for the Sacred alignments of the Heavens, (Gods true reflection on earth) Could this be why the British isles was considered the Holy land of the northern hemisphere?

    • @originofthezodiac9856
      @originofthezodiac9856  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, the land was chosen for particular qualities. I will expand on my research in some upcoming videos so please stay tuned.
      I think the British Isles were special: the land of milk and honey.

    From Job 38 when God finally answers Job: "Canst thou bind the sweet influences of Pleiades, or loose the bands of Orion? Canst thou bring forth Mazzaroth in his season? or canst thou guide Arcturus with his sons? Knowest thou the ordinances of heaven? canst thou set the dominion thereof in the earth?"

    • @originofthezodiac9856
      @originofthezodiac9856  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Verse 31. The NIV Bible says 'bind the chains' rather than 'bind the sweet influences', and Orions 'belt' not 'bands'. Belt is gwregws which we looked at in the video. A band is a Rhwym, and a Rhywn is a twist or a wind.

      @@originofthezodiac9856 Just looking at the translations as they stand I think binding an influence makes more sense than binding a chain... Of course if the Pleiades do have a sweet influence we as mortals would not be able to bind it, but that is the point. 🙂

    Hello from Belgium.
    Great stuff...
    Just asking myself why do you think welsh language is older than any language, antediluvian if I understand, and in consequence, explaining every other languages.
    How do you arrive to such conclusion about Welsh?

      Hello to Belgium. Thank you for your comment.
      You understand my hypothesis, in brief, it is because of the Star Maps of Gwynedd were made using Welsh and date to about 5000BCE. You can check out my videos on the Leak Project or Megalithomania for an indepth proof.
