    I weigh 77kg and have beat the heck out of my Elite wheels for the year xc racing with them. I keep expecting something to fail while bombing down hills that are more suited to an enduro bike but nothing has failed so far. I have the xc pro set with 30mm wide rims (370g) and Pilar spokes. The hubs are sealed well which was a pleasant surprize.

    I’ve been on these wheels for two seasons now and I’ve had no issues. The Hubs are basically DT Swiss internals. As for the guy that blew out his hubs, he was just unlucky. I have these wheels on a Tallboy and hit jumps and downhill runs on these wheels and they’re solid. I wouldn’t shy away from these if you’re in the market. They’re crazy light.

    • @LoveMTB

      @@bgriff2517 thanks for sharing your experience mine are still on the bike and I have more than 2 seasons in them, one of the front bearings is a bit rough but other than that no issues whatsoever

    • @moss30114

      They are good at first- I had a pair of Pro33s and they now have to be rebuilt. Aluminum nipples have corroded on both wheels. I started breaking rear spokes and took the tape off for a look and they were trashed. I also blew up a free hub in the first year. It took several weeks to get a replacement. Most local shops don't carry the spoke types used.

    • @bgriff2517
      @bgriff2517 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That’s your experience and that sucks it happened. So many have had no issues. The Sapim Cx ray spokes are awesome. Freehubs can be rebuilt with DT Swiss parts. But if you went thru warranty then yea I can see it taking some time coming from China. Again I’ve put them thru their paces minus down hill type runs. But still aggressive riding terrain with jumps and drops. I’ve been pleased. I guess time will tell. I’m also on the Pro36 which are wider rims. So maybe that is a bigger factor to strength.

      @@bgriff2517 I almost got another pair because they were great while the lasted. The lead time was 8 weeks so I went with Reserve XC 28s. I know I won't have any issues with them and parts will be easily sourced.

    een running the PRO36 for about 8 months. On my bike and the wife's bike. My front bearing went out within 60 days, hers are still fine. About 50 days after that I started breaking rear spokes while climbing. Had the rear wheel rebuilt with a better spoke and bearings on both bikes and all is well. We have beat the crap out of these wheels, long rides with plenty of rocky, Rooty, rock rolls and drops. Rims are holding up well. We do trail/light enduro most of the time. The rims are great but the spokes and bearing not so much.

    For anyone who is about to buy these wheels. I have ridden little over 1000km’s on these and results are bad: Two set’s of ratchet rings totally broken (first 36t and later 60t), two allmost completely jammed freehubs (bearings jammed on both) and very rough hub bearings allready. So maybe look somewhere else hub-wise. Rim feels good and I’m about to rebuild the back wheel on different brand hub.

    Looks like a great deal. A while back I got a set of Atomiks Mod-Hooks and their first gen hookless built up with CX-Rays and Bitex hubs which are absolutely fantastic value for around a similar price and again with Light Bicycle AR46/CX-Ray/Bitex for around $800. Either way the CX-Ray spokes are are a fantastic spoke option. The only thing I would do differently and I guess it depends where you are but on the East Coast S. Florida and now here in Belgium where everything gets thrown at the wheels....brass nipples are a better choice over the weight savings of aluminum. They're just going to make your life easier down the line. If you live in the desert...I say the aluminum nipples are fine but would still recommend brass.

      If you change to the Pro36 you will notice a great improvement in stability, in addition to reducing the weight somewhat. But above all, having 30mm internal width will help you pass through rocky areas much better. The problem with the Pro33 is that being 27mm it is a little more nervous.

    Is that new "EXP style" ratchet? Wonder when will they offer 56t or even 60t ratchet upgrade.
    VENFORT EXP hubs offer 60t engagement (and other colour options) but I already asked EliteWheels if they'll offer more hubs from different manufacturers but they said they won't.

    The bike is solid and my Ebike conversion went great. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L Very smooth ride at 30mph with no problems (135 miles ridden so far). The picture is a bit deceiving - there is WAY less space in the center of the frame than it shows. The suspension connection takes up the entire thing. So I needed to attach my battery on the bottom of the frame and my controller on the top. Instructions for assembly were lacking but honestly it wasn't too hard to figure out even though I have very little bike knowledge. Watched some youtube videos on adjusting the disk brakes but that was it. Still, I am loving it and very happy with the purchase.
