Been running the PRO36 for about 8 months. On my bike and the wife's bike. My front bearing went out within 60 days, hers are still fine. About 50 days after that I started breaking rear spokes while climbing. Had the rear wheel rebuilt with a better spoke and bearings on both bikes and all is well. We have beat the crap out of these wheels, long rides with plenty of rocky, Rooty, rock rolls and drops. Rims are holding up well. We do trail/light enduro most of the time. The rims are great but the spokes and bearing not so much.
Much respect to your bike choices👍 Most people over bike for local trails. A hard tail is almost always a better choice. Considering a set of 27.5 of carbon.
You forgot to do a hub sound check and a wheel spin test. I have a Elitewheel set on my 700X35C streetfighter (flat bar hybrid 1by8). The hub sound is loud which is good for me and the wheels keep spinning and spinning and don't stop abruptly which is a good thing.
Another good brand is Velosa similar setup & bunch of options to choose from. I bought one cheap about a year ago with huge promotion then realized how sturdy they were and ordered 3 more over the year.
Impact directly to carbon components is not what you are talking about, I hope. That is the real weakness to carbon parts. They can take a lot of stresses, but not that. You run the risk of catastrophic failure without notice often times. Good practice to check for cracks after each ride. Good Luck and be careful. Thanks.
Bought a set 2 months ago and the rear wheel just failed, cracked while going over a trail I’ve been on many times. I rode with two of my buddies and they road the same line but mine were the ones that broke. I wasn’t going very fast at all!! Up until that point I really liked them. For reference, I’ve had about 18 different bikes over the years and have never broken a wheel. I’ve have had two spikes broke on two different wheels. Two months! Maybe I just got a bad rim. I have an email into the company, hopefully they will send me a better one…
They did nothing but said they would sell me another wheel with a 20% discount. Don’t do it! Never again. These are just crap. I needed up getting Hunt wheels and have been very happy with the wheels and have gone over way more hard rocky, chundery single track than the cheap Chinese wheels
@scottkouns8578 thanks for replying and confirming my suspicion. I think it's definitely worth paying a little bit more for a reputable brand. Unfortunately there are far too many biased "reviews" due to sponsorship with these companies so it's hard to get a truthful answer.
The only thing missing is the satisfaction that comes from building a wheel yourself! Asymmetric rims make a lot of sense to reduce or eliminate wheel dish. Unfortunately the individual parts usually cost more than an assembled wheel.
They seemed to hold out well for you. It's funny the difference between manufacturers in china, you could order the same frame from 40 different places, 5 of them are balls to the wall amazing but 35 factories well when you sit on jt the carbon explodes lol.

This is pretty cool. It would be nice to see all these xc light components like the fork and wheels on the fast xc trifox bike though.

I have to say that the graphics on the new wheelset looks better with the frame color scheme than the red/white/black of the old ones.
