- About an hour outside of Ha Giang city is big bro’s farm. We went to see how the plant, ngũ gia bì, is taken care of. Grown and usually sold around 40,000VND per kilo, this plant is very prized in Northern Vietnam. While you can eat it raw, I must say this plant in a hot pot is something special.
Finally, I couldnt finish off this tour without something sweet. Sữa chua nếp cẩm is something I feel like I see more and more in Vietnam. The creamy-ness, sweet and sour, and texture from the sticky rice is something that will make an addict out of anybody. Absolutely delicious.

This is why becoming a vegetarian is easier in VN. Although, with all the delicious meat dishes, no one can really resist. The herbaceous of the greens are the best of every meal.
Looking at the fresh and green farm landscape is so nice, especially with the leafy vegetables, I've never heard of it and eaten it. But by looking at you eating and describing it, I have a craving

It is so crazy how cheap it is or Westerner. 30-40K is about 1.5 to 2 dollar a pound. I pay that much for broccoli in the state.

@@Macoi24 nothing wrong with that answer. Just my observations watching you. All their work is done by hand no fancy tools either.
In some ethnic groups, instead of patriarchy, there is matriarchy so the women would lead the family and receive inheritance while the men marry into the family. And in some groups, it's the women who do physical work while the men do housework.
In the end, both sides contribute but depending on the group, the typical jobs/roles associated with males or females may be switched.
You are very receptive of different exotic flavours. Good to see you enjoy what you are doing and not just pretending. I hope you can do more home stays in Vietnam. Maybe Sapa.

Great trip to Ha Giang province. The farm life is a peaceful life as u remember, farm life is the same worldwide. The special herb or veggie sounds very healthy, I believe Phu Quoc island also has that plant, it grows in higher altitudes, needs cooler climate to thrive. You’ve become quite the herbivore in Nam. How can one become obese eating that healthy food. Great video once again Max, enjoy the rest of ya stay in Vietnam 🇻🇳 ✌️🤙

Lẩu thì ngon, nhưng người Việt Nam nên dùng 1 đôi đũa sạch dùng chung để gắp đồ ăn trong nồi lẩu ra chén riêng, thói quen dùng đũa cá nhân gắp đồ ăn trong nồi lẩu rất mất vệ sinh và dễ lây nhiễm vi khuẩn Hp
Văn hóa VN cả nước nó zậy rồi bạn ơi. Ở Sài Gòn đi ăn lẩu nhiều lần tui cũng nói zậy nhưng ko ai nghe . Tui nói không dc thò đôi đũa cá nhân mình vào nồi lẩu . Họ kêu mình bày đặc )
Sợ nhất là ly bia mời nhiều người uống chung . Tình cảm gì hổng biết chứ người nhấp môi cái sợ chết mẹ luôn . )

Nhiều người người ta quen rồi mình ý kiến thì nói mình kỹ. Mút đầu đũa xong thọc vô nồi lẩu gắp, bới tung cái đĩa đồ ăn gắp trúng miếng không ngon cái thẩy xuống gắp miếng khác, về quê các bác các chú hay nhậu bia rượu có 1 cái ly xoay tua ... thấy oải chè đậu

That green jelly the " che lady " was preparing is called Banh Lot in South Vietnam . When you get back to SGN , try the Che Dâu Do Banh Lot ( Banh Lot mixed with red beans , coconut milk , syrup and ice ) . It's a delicious dessert during the hot season
