    Our first two days exploring the island of Senja in northern Norway! What an incredible place. We got an airbnb in the tiny town of Botnhamn for the first two days of our trip and hiked Mt Hesten to get that amazing view of Mt Segla and the next day we hiked part way up Mt Barden.

      Most people have never heard of it haha, but I think that will be changing in the coming years. We didn't really, I kind of just decided to try them since they looked like blue berries!

    Hi my wife and I fell in love with Mt Segla thanks to your video, do you know if we can do the hike in winter time ? We will be there in December.
    Thanks for sharing such a beautiful place.

    • @itsryanwilkes
      @itsryanwilkes  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks mate! I think you can do the hike in winter, but depending on how much snow there is it might take a lot longer and it will be more dangerous. Also if there is a lot of snow I would make sure to have proper gear for hiking in the winter. But I have seen photos from people hiking it in the winter =)

    So beautiful! I am visiting there in 3 weeks! How long did it take to go up and down Segla?

    • @itsryanwilkes
      @itsryanwilkes  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Nice! For this hike it was only about 90 minutes to get up, but this is for the mountain beside Segla that gives a nice view of Segla. The actual Mt Segla hike is a bit longer I think.

  • @bringmore2888

    How much does the temperature change when elevation increases? Is it really windy up there even if it wouldnt be on the sea level? I'm planning on wild camping in Senja.

    • @itsryanwilkes
      @itsryanwilkes  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Pretty significantly! The top of the ridges are directly exposed to the ocean so the cold currents coming off of the water can be really intense. Just make sure you pack the right layers and jackets (rain jacket, warm puffer) and you will be fine =)
