Hiking Hesten || This Is The BEST View of Segla

  • My final episode on this trip to Europe/Norway.
Segla is THE most iconic mountain in Senja, Norway. And you have two options to experience it.
The first would be actually hiking to the very top of Segla. The second option is hiking just to the north of it, which is called Hesten. This destination gives you, in my opinion, the best view of Segla, and is most likely the photo you've seen of it on Instagram.
You cannot find a more appealing peak in Senja to photograph!
This video documents the Hesten hike from the trailhead in Fjordgård, to the highest cliff's edge at the top, which is a landscape photographer's dream.
We decided to do a sunset hike, to catch the incredible mountain and terrain in the golden hour's light, and it did NOT disappoint.
This place was also where I decided to make the biggest decision of my life. Be sure to stay tuned till the end for a happy, wholesome ending that I'm very happy to share with you all!
    I love you, Jehs!

First of all, congratulations to both of you! So glad she said yes and that no one dropped the ring off of that cliff. What a great location to do that! Secondly, you really hit the jackpot with that light! So glad I saw this before my trip. I'm surprised by the amount of green that was still there in September. I'm hoping that tunnel is open this year and that they aren't working on the road. One of the main reasons I got a cabin in Senjahopen was that it looked like it was only 20 min away from the trailhead. It's going to kill me if I have to take a two hour detour and have to deal with road construction delays as well. I'm definitely taking my drone and if I get light even slightly as good as yours, I will be thrilled. Outstanding shots and videography on this! Wow!

Dang dude again really appreciate it!
The locals said the construction was to las a year, so I’m hoping it’s done for your sake as well! Type it into Google maps before your trip and it’ll let you know if it’s open or closed.
If the weather is nice I would highly recommend camping up there if you’re down with that. Would have been a great spot for northern lights and Astro stuff! I would have but I know Jehs wouldn’t have wanted to😅

We did get super lucky with the conditions here. I saved this spot for when we had good weather, and it paid off. It rained 4 out of the 7 days we were in Norway:)

Thanks man! These videos were filmed with a combo of my a7iii and some iPhone work. I don’t like using iPhone for footage, and have recently phased it completely out of my videos. I also upgraded to an a7iv:)

      Appreciate all the kind words!
I would say the viewpoint on the lower half of the hike is definitely accessible for kids. Going all the way up to Hesten is a little tricky with having to navigate and climb through the rocks at the end.
Either way, the viewpoint is pretty worth the hike alone!
