I live in Ft. Worth and they just made an arrest based on DNA. He is now being held at the Tarrant County Jail on a $100,000 bond. It was a 77 year old married father of 2. It took nearly 50 years but they finally solved it. Hopefully now her family can be at peace.

I'm putting a lot of comments but I just kind of want everyone to know that they found him all these people that well I said this video gets some facts wrong and there's a lot of fluff in the beginning it's still a good video and it obviously get some people pretty upset that the guy got away well he no longer has gotten away they got him

@@dreamsdocumtru81 poor kid had nothing to do with it so you were wrong. They saw the case 2 days ago 3 days ago I guess now through that genealogical DNA bulshit. I mean look as good at solving a lot of very important cases but we have to we have to make some laws about what you can and can't do with it. Right guy I have no problem with it being used to solve murders and rapes but that should be where it stops the end period end of story. Because you just have to have laws people didn't give their consent to this and well murder and rape don't have statute of limitations so you know that's fine use it for that but you know you can't just take someone's DNA and start making clones with me or doing all kinds of other irresponsible shit trying to solve a fucking burglary from 18 years ago that statute of limitations has run out on it's just like forget it it's like forget it dude you know she ain't going to work because they're making it illegal to arrest people so they're going to have to go back and close all the cold cases and get rid of statute of limitations that's what's going to be happening here and all the people committing crimes now won't have to worry about it until their cake case becomes a cold case it's it's bullshit this is just bullshit I hate this is just nonsense the way the world's going. All these clean shootings being fucking people are crying about these fucking clean shootings and no one is even brought up Daniel shaver who was murdered by the police because he's white no one cares if they kill a white guy. And police video leaks they show you the whole tape and the only people I've seen that were definitely either murdered while the only two people I saw that were murdered were George Floyd and Daniel shaver. in fact the first two responding officers to the George Floyd incident didn't do anything wrong at all. They were both they both had very little experience George fully was not acting like a rational man and they reacted how anyone else would it wasn't until dick head Mcscrotum face showed upand not only did he kneel on mr. Fluids neck long after he became unresponsive he also pushed down like he pushed himself down with the car to add even more force and this asshole has a bunch of brutality complaints like he needs to be convicted of murder his partner just stood there and watched this shit happened the other two people were trying to just come George Foley with a big guy and they were trying to hold him down they were the one guy was trying to control his legs the other guy was trying to control his waist didn't even see what this asshole was doing but eventually I guess you got to stand up and say all right man this guy is like not moving anymore you want to like stop killing him. But I don't know if anyone writes near me because they equate the two original responding officers I'm going to make sure I'm protecting my property with my AR-15 in any one steps foot on it is going to die. now well they're not going to equip the guy who literally murdered him there's no way because it is he's clearly guilty so I don't think we have to worry about that happening. but this terrorist organization wants to fucking cry about every police shooting it's ridiculous. You know I mean come on now the guy from Wisconsin he should have been shot seven times but he absolutely should have been shot the dumbass was fucking supposed to fucking listen to the fucking police he was he was he had a violent history so did George Floyd but that doesn't matter George Floyd was just scared and he was just scared this guy was I like making a beeline to his car like putting his children in danger like what did he expect he should have expected to be shot twice you're supposed to shoot twice and reassess your situation then again I've seen cops unload a 30-40 bullet song one guy who did have a gun in his hand but you don't hear anything about that because once again the guy was white. you know Daniel shaver was cold-bloodedly executed by one of the most worthless police officers I've ever seen and the situation was caused by a completely incompetent Sergeant who retired and ran to the Philippines with his pension they just look into that case because I'm rambling so bad here I don't know how I got so far off subject

@Johnathan P Why? It was a drunk kid hitting on someone I guess you've never been to a party oh yeah we didn't have safe spaces and it wasn't illegal to to say things and like you didn't call the cops if there was about to be a fight you know you actually had to live your life there were no permit Patty's there were no Karen's back then there were no safe spaces it was not the corny ass pussy ass pussy whipped world it is now. besides it's pretty well documented that the guy was not a high school-age kid. Wow you people who grew up in this pussy ass world I don't know if things go back to the way they were you guys will end up dead in a week you're such bitches. Besides the case has been solved and it had nothing to do with some kid at a hamburger stand who probably had too much to drink that night

Sounds like a case that geneology DNA might help. Also a DNA analysis to generate an approximate image of the donor - does he look like the person described by Rodney?
FWIW My gut feeling is that the letter is a red herring, perhaps entirely unrelated to the case and just an attempt by someone to harass someone else, perhaps an ex-boyfriend, by giving their name to the police.

    • @GenXfrom75

I was five years old in 1974 and lived in a small town here in Texas. I I moved to Ft Worth in 1985; by then I was 15 and would be sixteen before long. My Aunt that I had moved in had spoken of this case. I was used to being able to go and do what ever I wanted when I wanted, but I had arrived in Ft Worth in a time just after commercials that quoted the time and asked, "Do you know where your kids are?" The case was eleven years old but it was still mentioned yearly for a while. I of course never heard of her but felt bad for her parents.

I know the lab that did that is backed up with tons of cases but hopefully this one can be solved. I agree the DNA is a much better chance than the letter. The letter could just be written by someone who wanted attention and had no idea who killed Carla.

It’s usually only injected if you are in hospital or you are on a morphine pump after surgery or for palitive care !You can buy it on the streets if you know where to buy it but maybe the killer was prescribed it or a family member was ! They have caught the killer now he is 77 years old at the time he was caught by dna !46 years after the murder he was 31 when he killed her he’s a old man with a wife , kids and grandchildren ! Claims to not be a monster ! He was just given life in prison ! A very thorough coverage. I think it was a repeat offender but he was not from the Fort Worth area, perhaps an itinerant worker or a truck driver. It would help to run it through the FBI central records to see if there were similar cases throughout the country. Also genetic DNA could produce a near relative of the killer. Perhaps as 46 years have passed, the killer might be dead.

Excellent video covering this case! I hope a few things can happen to hopefully get the case solved. 1) A reverse genealogy can be performed w/ the DNA evidence from the scene (parabon labs 🧬 🥼 ). 2) The letter can be sent to a forensic lab or the FBI lab where light spectrum can be used to maybe find a print, or even a handwriting impression 📝🕵️‍♂️🕵️‍♀️

After watching so much true crime i gotta say it really amazes me how seemingly random justice is :( like, there are cases where they get a conviction over the tiniest little detail, but then there's cases like this, a blatant attack with a witness in public with no attempts to hide evidence or evade police, and they get a away scott free. It's so sad, I can't imagine how helpless the victims and their families feel.

How awful for her family, to not know would be the worst. Rodney seems like a good guy that needs answers too.
It's kind of surreal that with DNA, crimes haven't been solved. It seems as though somebody related would have done a genealogy thing.
P.S. Where did you come up with Theda's name? I have a relative (now deceased) that was named Theda. It's not very common

I think the burglar could've been responsible for Carla's death. When the police came to his residence, he knew her name and was wondering when they were coming for him. When he was talking to the police, he broke down crying so he could've been the one who did it. But then again, it's very common for people to confess to murders they didn't commit, all for the attention.

... and that's why I lock my car doors the moment I get in. And check on the rareview mirror for anyone hiding in the backsits lol.
I feel like a lot of serial killers, rapists, and murderer where really active in the 70s, it was the decade of freedom and everybody felt safe. It's so sad that now we're so aware of the sickness in our society that we can't trust each other, that we have to be scared of walking alone at night or sitting in your car with doors unlocked. A friend of mine was robbed in her car, just few seconds to me to get her, all because she has her doors unlocked. It's madness.
And it's even worst what Rodney and Karla's family had to go through all these years with no answer. I agree with you: we're just a step away to solved this, and I hope it'll be soon ❤️

Those crimes are too similar a year apart found in the Cold war pretty young girl they're most likely done by the same person. The guys old now hopefully he'll just confess I find it very hard to believe that it's notthe same person who committed both crimes and now that we have someone for one of them then obviously well anyway but it's people who falsely confess or police browbeat in to falsely confessing that LOL I screw things up but hopefully Becky's case will be solved soon. This case was solved via DNA in 2020. What should be done for any unsolved case that has DNA we re- test and we use the direct DNA route, the genealogical DNA route etc. and we should do this from most recent to the oldest case IMO to minimize threat level and (hopefully) maximize jail time - thoughts? Or should we go from oldest first ( say starting in the 70s?)
