The gaeul one is so sad to watch. Not only was gaeul probably hurt by what her mom said, but this will also be another reason for people to hate on wonyoung..... Shame on her mom for doing this. And the skz one is sooo uncomfortable like they can see that he feels uncomfortable when they talk to him like that and they continue to do that...And bangchan as a leader doing this only encourages the other members to say stuff like this. Smh.
Exactly! Bangchan is literally my ult bias but it's really disheartening to watch him make and encourage such jokes about changbin knowing full well that changbin is uncomfortable with those types of jokes, as a leader he should stop the members from making such comments not cheer them on :((

Changbin has always been very vocal about wanting to gain weight by working out a lot and eating a lot. He’s not actually bothered by this😭 I’m on the slimmer side but even my friends make the same jokes about me because it’s not supposed to be taken seriously. If changbin was actually struggling and wanting to lose weight, they would’ve never made such jokes.

That happened to Jake from enhypen aswell. It was when they had their concert so he cried with ENGENES and then Enhypen cried too. It is honestly so sad to watch, I feel so bad for both..
Something that I have noticed is that the way that JYPE has structured Changbin's role within the group is that he is constantly getting bullied for his weight by the other members, as well as just being disrespected and made fun of by his juniors. I've seen a decrease in this over the past couple of years, but still. Even so-called "fans" will join in on these "jokes" and take it WAY too far. Like, the members at least know him personally and will therefore know his boundaries, but these alleged fans who relentlessly criticize his appearance make me feel enraged. He deserves more than that, he is someone who should be respected and loved for his talents and dedication to what he does. And HE IS NOT "FAT" like people like to call him. He bulks so that he can gain more muscle mass. It's simple logic and people don't understand it or just don't care. It's fucking disgusting.
If Changbin actually cared then he would stop bulking up, but he unlike you have braincells and know what joking is.

One example was the ‘Elephant Seal’ joke that 3Racha did, certain Stays thought that they had free reign to jump in and use the joke as well, but from what I have heard from concert goers, Changbin has actually ignored sections of venues during performances because of certain people having an ‘Elephant Seal’ type of sign.
@@athena_crYes Changbin only take them as joke but i also think with 'elephant seal', they have gone too far. I think he was not comfortable in taking that joke.
But as a stay, i know they always joke around and love teasing members. The members who take jokes lightly or not personally will be Changbin and Han. So Stay Kids tend to tease them more.
In Han's case, he is not comfortable in mentioning his pre debut behavior. He even begged stays to not mention it. But members tease him a lot with that, almost in every kids room, 2kids room, etc, series they mention that. Even in the last 2kids show, they joked about his previous behavior. In one show, Changbin also told that 'Han don't relate'. Although Han responds to these with his goofy replies, we can somehow see he is a little hurt.
@@behappy3610 yeah I would say that he does seem a little hurt. While it’s easy to pass it off as “joking”, there are times where the members have taken things a little too far. Like when, for example, Seungmin said “Changbin is so good at nothing” during one of their English interviews, he looked visibly uncomfortable and a little upset. It just seems like sometimes they don’t know where the line is, and the fans make it so much worse.
Seeing idols casually calling each other pigs was very shocking to me when i first got into kpop considering that that's an insult where i'm from
The Changbin one makes me so so so sad.. i can totally understand how he feels... I too get "jokingly" fatshamed by everyone around me and even my parents, and my case is just like Changbin, im buff than fat
As a stay these changbin comments did felt off even when i was starting to stan skz. Changbin looked so uncomfortable when they comment on his weight. I feel like skz members goes too far with that kind of comments especially in front of camera. And i have felt bad for him but i dont see many stays comment about it so i push it aside.
They are joking. It is normal for close friends to joke around. Changbin also makes fun of his members in a joking way.

From what I’ve seen, skz make fun of each other wayyy less than other groups. And I think they really admire Changbin’s physique bc he’s so fit and muscular, so when they make fun of him it’s usually just jokes. It’s like them calling Hyunjin ‘ugly’, it would obviously be a joke since he’s very handsome
Changbin is the last one in skz to have a self esteem problem😭 he’s always been very vocal about wanting to gain weight and muscles by working out and eating a lot. He’s one of the most confident members of skz. I’m on the slimmer side, but even my friends make the same jokes about me because it’s not supposed to be taken seriously. @strawkittyxoxo I agree. I remember when this happened. It was at the time the guys would always make fun of jin and rm and say the same thing. It was a constant running joke. When the fans repeated it, they thought they were joking like the guys would. But they didn't know it really affected them. It was a big deal when this happened but lessons were learned and I never saw bts make fun of jin or rm again about their dancing in front of the camera. I don't think the audience was being intentionally mean but just repeating what the guys would say thinking it was funny. But now we know it's not like that. It's still so sad to see RM and Jin look so sad.

@Leena_A I think it was a reaction, he was surprised. When I am surprised, sometimes I laugh to make light of the situation and of the awkwardness. You can see him waving his hands like no, no, that isn't true and to stop.
not a stay but the pig jokes/ fat shaming made me so uncomfortable. it reminded me of when my best friend at the time used to call me a pig for eating too much when in fact i was severely underweight at the time and those comments lead to feeling a huge sense of body dysmorphia and bad self esteem. i really hope that skz learn how small comments can lead to something bigger and it’s especially worst coming from people you’re close with because you have so much trust and love for them
changbin is saying that he dont mind getting those (fatshaming) ,,jokes" and that he is that type of person who would stand up for himself and tell others when its wrong but he never does that, instead he just goes quiet and has that awkward smile.... its clearly he is uncomfortable with those type of jokes :((

I know and understand that Stray Kids are super close and they make fun of each other all the time but the fat/pig jokes towards Changbin will never not be uncomfortable, like people will say “no no they’re calling him pig because of his emoji/skzoo character or its just a joke” but but nah we all know what they mean when they call him a pig and he honestly never looks happy or okay when they make fun of him like that, it really hurts to watch. I also don’t get why as idols they feel like it’s okay to make fun of him like that on camera, cause they gotta know fans and antis like to take things they say and run with it (not saying they should do it off cam either tho). The changbin one is so sad. As an idol , you already have a lot of eyes on you , judging your appearance, your weight , and seeing your groupmates doing the same thing must be tough. I saw some stays here saying ''it's a joke , they are close'' Yes , it might be , but you can tell that he seems very uncomfartable and very self concious about those comments , so i don't know .
As a stay I have often noticed it and while I understand that changbin and skz are very comfortable and between friends it is to some degree acceptable. But honestly saying all that in front of the camera is very uncomfortable knowing that changbin has always been shamed for his weight since debut. They still do it all the time, it is very annoying (especially chan).

beauty is a subjective matter,the words may be offensive for some however this person (@YN.97) have the right to think this about chan's face,its their opinion especially after that....stays love to portrait chan as this sensible,kind,comprenshible guy (the kind who will never bodyshame someone for instance.......),who this injustly torn apart for his look but as shown on those videos he's not as innocent as you guys claim he is...and they kinda make me lose the sympathy i had for him

One of my least favorite moments was when an idol was made to believe he shot his group mate as a prank. They directed him to shoot the air, and then made him think he shot his group mate by accident.

Saesangs are the reason most idols get uncomfortable and swear, then netizens use it again them ,you could see how JK was frustrated and many idols have been in the same situation. The last one with the guy making stupid and unreasonable comments on a girl's weight like what the hell, I feel like idols need to take legal action against these people Imagine an idol saying Am scared, what do I do, do you think you are doing him any good, harassing them and claiming you are a fan like what the hell...

And I’m glad they stopped making those comments against Sunoo, cuz he isn’t even fat. Doesn’t matter if they are close or not, you shouldn’t make comments on peoples bodies.

As a stay and Changbin biased, I really think that those jokes are so uncomfortable, but I think this is a inside joke between them, but I get the problem, and I think they shouldn’t make these jokes on camera because we all know how haters (even fans) are. As a stay, changbin’s case is more of a “friends joking around” case. Changbin may have been made fun of for his weight and appearance by haters and antis, but he has always been vocal about wanting to gain weight by working out and eating a lot. That’s why I don’t think he’s actually bothered by this. And SKZ are known to have one of the best family/soulmate relationships out of all the kpop groups I’ve seen. I’ve seen people comparing this situation to Sunoo from enhypen and let me just say that it’s completely different. Sunoo doesn’t really work out like changbin and has never been vocal about wanting to gain weight or muscles. So his members making jokes about his weight can be understandably questionable. But then again, it could also just be a friend thing. Idk since I don’t really stan enhypen as much as skz. But let’s not jump to conclusions so quickly.
And for the pig part, changbin’s literal skzoo/representative animal is a dwaekki (pig-bunny)

Everyone is not beautiful, let us not lie. There is a reason some people get praised for being beautiful like Bella Hadid and Jisoo from Blackpink for example. While someone else gets bullied for their appearence.

Mates if he really was uncomfortable he aint the type to be quite if he really wanted to lose weight none of the members would joke about it
They know how much he loves eating and thats why they joke about that but trust me he is not bothered by it
They know what would bother the other member and are quite close and respect each other. They would never say something that would trouble or hurt the other member. Even if they do ( which obviously occurs sometimes) they apologise quickly.
Plz dont say that he is uncomfortable you guys will be the ones to make their relationship uncomfortable by saying such things

Sonyeonstan, just a piece of constriuctive criticism as well though, this video is very cleanly made and I think the message is very important. Showing clips that are problematic, frustrating, and frightening to call out behaviours that are negative to the idols. I truly appreciate that, but if I may recommend:
When creating a video that has a serious tone and serious topics, I suggest keeping all the examples clear-cut and direct. I do think all the situations in this video are uncomfortable and have their issues, but the examples such as: Jinni crying at her final fansign, Ateez and Stray Kids making fatshaming comments to their members, and Umji covering her face with her hair; as much as they are serious and unfortunate, they are all still speculative.
The speculative aspect of them (being acknowledged as mistreatment clips, even though it could be negative to the viewer) does not sit well with me when they are placed alongside actual instances of harassment and abuse. It felt a little tone-deaf to have the grey-area videos put before/after actual cases of idol exploitation:
-Sullyoon (18 years old at the time) being approached by an adult man trying to give unwanted advances for content followed by speculation on Jinni's sad demeanor during her last fansign.
-The possible Ateez pig joke in an interview clip placed right before Hendery's truama was exploited for a TV show
-Loona's many explicit cases of company abuse being aired out to be followed by a low-saturation video of Changbin being teased for his weight.
I'm not saying fatshaming isn't important, but it's the ability of these clips to not be misinterpreted and to carry the same serious gravity as the rest of the videos. The f(x) video is different because that was broadcasted on TV with comments given by a stranger (audience member), same with Loona's Jinsoul discussing her (and all the members') weight being commented on by staff and fans---a complaint she addressed directly.
Sorry for the long comment, but you have a big platform and the manner of how you curate videos is a huge responsibility. I suggest keeping speculative clips in videos meant to speculate and discuss the viewers' reactions to it (which is still important!) outside of videos that collate very clear, objective, and undeniable cases of mistreatment.
I hoep you don't take this the wrong way. It's really just a very iffy thing I noticed while watching. It creates misinterpretations and a possible misuse of platform when equating speculative circumstances with evident abuse.

Honestly those jokes from Skz directed at Changbin aren't even the current ones. I'm a stay so I watch most, if not all of their content. And these jokes are still running to the point where it's pretty much normalised in the group. The latest episode of Skz variety show released (skz code) had little jabs around his eating.
Objectively looking at it, it may not sound nice to outsiders but (and I say this with the utmost sincerity) if these jokes were a big issue to Changbin, I'm pretty sure he would have shut them down. The members have said how serious Changbin can be behind the scenes despite the "babygirl" image stays may see.

With changbins case, i dont think skz are doing it with bad intent. Changbin is actually very confident with his big build and muscle. And since they have known eachother for over 5-6 years, im sure changbin would have talked to them about if it was effecting him or have gone too far. if changbin was actually fat(which he isnt) skz wouldnt be that comfortable with joking that way. im sure they know when to stop and their limits. but sometimes i feel uncomfortable with it aswell, but thats genuinely just a me problem. changbin usually doesnt even like being called skinny(in a sense that he doesnt want his body to be small, since hes worked hard in growing his muscle) so i kinda feel that joking around like that wouldnt necessarily bother him as much as being told his muscle is too small.

Umji's moment and Lisa's moment reminds me also of how VIVIZ had to perform at an international event (We Bridge Music Festival) and fly out to the US only 2 days after Moonbin's passing. They were unable to attend the rites (but came home right after performing, if Im not mistaken), letting Eunha do the fanmeeting as VIVIZ's representative.
I do acknowledge that a lot of this comes with contracts and groups can't just cancel an event like that (that's a huge monetary loss for a smaller sized company such as BPM). I want to also add the nuance of BPM allowing SinB and Umji to take an unannounced break from activities right after that festival to grieve, so I can't call it company mistreatment per se, but it's still painful and uncomfortable to watch how there are conditions that you still have to be seen by the public, even when you may not want to.
The Jessica thing is something we need to resurface even if it was years ago, compared to other k-pop videos that everyone resurfaced, it’s always the ridiculous one’s and completely skip over the concerning and alarming ones
About Changbin's fatshaming, they are just joking around as friends. I used to feel really annoyed about it until i got to know them. Even if they make fun of him they'll also be the first to call out and bash people who comment about his body especially Chan. That's what friends do. If you look at their bubble messages or contents you could see how they actually admire his body and has complemented him too. It's funny seeing some people being angry at Chan when they have one of the closest friendships in skz. Just watch their 2kids room and you'll see how they love throwing jokes at each other and spends their time with each other the most.
Even if they are friends and its joke if it happens over and over again you start to believe it… its not nice

Felix is a member who always admired changbin and told him how much he appreciates him and how good looking he's. The other members have also supported and complimented changbin a whole bunch of times, the "fatshaming" is clearly a joke, they joke about how changbin loves to eat and his skzoo character. If they are suddenly bad friends because of a few clips? Like they always expressed their love towards changbin and now that they had a few jokes mean they are bad people?
I'm so happy that Umji now knows she's beautiful. she's been my ULT for 7 years now and it hurt so much to see all the hate she got over the years, but also it was good to see her learn how to deal with it. I'm so proud of her, she's incredible

Let me emphasize that those incidents with Changbin were more than two (2) years ago, and there is nothing recent of that sort. Some of the translations are incorrect or misleading, and the “piggy” thing was also a reference to his plushie, but outside of that, it is not longer a running joke. You all are free to feel disappointed that this even happened, but they have mend their ways, and none of the comments were done out of spite to purposely offend him. Chan actually acknowledged some of the jokes they make on camera between the members, and he said that whenever someone feels something isn’t right, they will say it as it is and make sure everyone is comfortable moving forward.
Tbh, some of the clips made me cry like the one with Lisa, Gaeul, Jinni or Umji :(

For the SKZ one, as someone who has religiously watched their content, each member has a teasing point that you can make 8 separate videos for them.
CHAN is often teased for being old like 26 is old🙄, also occasionally called a pig cause of large appetite.
LEEKNOW is oft called mean/weird even amongst the members.
CHANGBIN is the buff/fat gym bro everyone can tease basically the middle child.
HYUNJIN is the dumb/pabo blond himbo that can be easily maipulated, even their subtitles say pabo.
HAN is the anxiety ridden member so they don't tease him like they used to.
FELIX is the gamer who never wins at anything and they don't let him forget it.
SEUGMIN dares anyone to test him and the members do mostly oft reducing him to a pet.
I.N is loved so they rarely bully/tease him except in a you're the youngest kind of way iykyk.

Yeah but the issue here is, is that changbin looks uncomfortable sometimes when the members say things about his Weight and the group. Dynamics you compared it to are not the same weight is very sensitive topic compared to the other ones you mentioned and I'm a stay and have been for years and I saw how changbin was made fun of on variety shows for being skinny and the members laughed along

they don't always do that, the majority of the time they're just referring to his muscle when they call him big (except for some of the things seungmin and chan said). I agree that sometimes they take the jokes too far but at the end of the day they love each other and knowing changbin he would probably tell them to stop off camera if he didn't want those kind of jokes made anymore (they hardly ever joke like that anymore at least)
