- Cruising through the streets and countryside in Sapa, Vietnam on a nice Sunday morning on October of 2023. Sapa is one of the most beautiful areas of Northern Vietnam. This town is in the Lao Chi province and is famous for its rice terraces and tribal ethnic minority groups. This is their part of the country, the rugged farming communities that live in the highlands of the north. Sapa is located only a couple of hours from the border with China. It’s a truly majestic part of the world with peaks that rise thousands of feet and high mountain roads where you can see forever.
I would encourage anyone who has the means and the desire to travel to the Lao Cái region in Northern Vietnam, to visit this beautiful area in and around Sapa. The views are spectacular, the rice terraces are gorgeous, and the people are astounding. I simply love it up here.. If I could spend a month in Northern Vietnam every year, I would do it in a heartbeat.
Ha Giang is also a great riding area in Northern Vietnam. Its most popular route is called the Ha Giang Loop. It is quickly becoming one of the fastest growing tourist areas in the country. It’s also spectacular and not very busy with tourism traffic because it’s not near anything. A bus from Hanoi is a good 6-7 hours from Hanoi, its closest big city.
I love the simple life that people live up in the Sapa region of Vietnam. It’s like going back in time here. Everyone outside of town lives off of the land and hand to hand, face to face. It’s genuine, raw, and real. There’s nothing like the countryside in Vietnam. Tôi Yêu Việt Nam!
