I think you really captured the essence of the Dear John/ Dear Elder letter and what it can do to a poor you missionary. Ladies, don’t do this to those young men who at the time are so special to you. Don’t make a promise you can’t keep. Send them off to where they need to be, and if it’s meant to happen, you’ll still love him just as much in two years as you did before he left. If not, then neither of you will get your hearts broken.

Not Mormon but have been giggling all day at some of the BYU stuff; you guys (and gals!) have a special sort of visible joy. Thanks for being cool enough to poke a little fun at yourselves and give some of us non-religion types (that's no invite for a knock on my door now...) a nice view into your world. Some of my friends might bash this but maybe your absence from your sweethearts during mission times make for quite strong marriages. You sort of learn what has staying power before the leap.

I just got back from my second year at Girls Camp today.... it was one of the most spiritual experiences I've ever had, being up in the mountains away from this computer and other distractions in the world, closer then ever to our Heavenly Father. I'm Mormon and proud of it!

It's amazing how the lord puts people into our lives, even though they say while you are on your mission you aren't suppose to think about people you meet in that way but the lord has his plans and he wouldn't of aloud it to happen if it wasn't meant to be that way :)
