What an excellent topic to cover because some gadgets, plant holders, clamp-on items, water drippers, etc. are made for tanks without that moulding. Majorly appreciated Mike! I was contemplating removing a 4 inch piece in the back to be able use clamp-on items.
Seems to be common the breaking of that plastic on top it happened to another TH-camr that I follow with the same tank. you look really healthy Michael very happy for you. Continued success.
last time I changed trim, I divorced her, tried out some different trim until I found some I really liked and married her. I'm much happier now with the way the new trim fits !
Hi my handsome friend! 🤯 WOW. Mind blowing. I can’t even imagine. I would have 💩 my pants as well. Great video in how you fixed the problem. Looks a lot easier than resealing a tank which I’ve done a few times. Thank you for bringing us hobbyists informative videos of the hobby. Btw… looking healthy and happy.
You are definitely a trip but funny as he'll taadaaa 😆 🤣 love the video though glad your walking us thru it,, but I sure hope I don't ever have to do my 55 gallon as well. Since it's by my bed
I just replaced a top and bottom last week. My tank was empty-which was a plus. Did it the same way you did, was pretty simple. Ordered from the same company you did, was happy with the price and customer service. Mine was a 40 tall.
I have a 125 gallon that broke the center brace so I used two lengths of wood and a pipe clamp to hold it from bowing. Thanks for the link I’ll have to order a new one. Although it has been like that for months
Happened to me on a 55 gallon as well. Had just got home from having my heart valve replaced so as you know no lifting over 5 pounds or so. So I used it as an excuse to buy a bigger tank and had to pay someone to swap everything over. Pretty scary for the bit of time having a bowed 55 gallon tank.
I changed the top on a 55 like you did. I did it pretty much like you did except I kept trying to cut the silicone with a razor until I could take the whole thing off in one piece (minus the broken center brace). It took forever! I put the new one on and it lasted for years after that. It worked for me... so I did it right! It seems to have worked for you... so your (better) strategy.... also right! :)
I have a bunch of old tanks. With no rims. They were made with 4 peaces of please. One for each side. Or just v canal. They are from the 1960. Never a problem with them. But new tanks definitely need the rim. Much different glass. In my opinion old tanks are much better.
Ohh dam what I miss your first 3 year of TH-cam. When you walk aorund talk about nothing and everything. Your tought, your diffrent breeding projekt. Your bulding. Water on the floor things. Messy work bench. Thats was your prime on TH-cam. Now its only about earn money and talk about how to. Yeah I miss the old Michael I realy do

The 20 gallon tank I'm taking the part for a fish tank project build. There's so much silicone on this 2005 tank it's ridiculous. Great video
