This DLC suffers from a rushed story, ignoring characters on allfronts and a bad ending. All the recommendations you mentioned would've improved this greatly.
Bro, where was Smoke in this DLC? You fight him once at the wedding, and then he's gone. He doesn't even join the final battle against Titan Havik. Why didn't he go with Scorpion to get Bi Han? That would have been the perfect time to give him his own chapter. If he wasn't going to be playable, then at least let him be involved in the story more. The Lin Kuei went to the wedding for Scorpion AND Smoke.
That was my big problem with this DLC, the absence of so many of the characters and the inclusion of ones who weren’t necessary (looking at you WW2 Johnny). Like, at least the Edenians have a reason for being majorly unavailable but they went through the effort of making a lot of former enemies into heroes and not actually killing them so why would anyone thinking going after a titan with like 7 people was a good move? The other heroes should’ve been given something to do offscreen. At least the Aftermath DLC had an engrained reason for why there wasn’t much interaction going on, this one just kinda shrugged and kept it moving.
My biggest problem with Khaos Reigns...it speedruns alot of story elements that would have worked better as a sequel or a set of sequels than a "short" dlc, this game should have been focused on setting up the stakes of the world.
It also feels like alot of the lines were responding to previous lines that were never said, like with Johnny Cage's math joke when fighting the Havik Klones, or Liu Kang saying that killing Havik would "kill innocent millions" in the process.

One of the weirdest things about this DLC was how Bi-Han became Noob Saibot, an *evil* character, only to have it pretty much undone almost immediately and it seems now he’s more like an Anti-Hero or something. It happens SO QUICKLY, it left me like, “What the hell?”
As a 30 plus year fan of Mortal Kombat I always believed that it had a multiverse to some extent and thought with MK1 confirming there is a multiverse it opened to the door to explore the franchise with different timelines. However I do think the way it was done in both MK1 and Khaos Reigns is really mixed at best. I do wonder if Ed Boon is losing it in terms of creativity or they hire writers who know nothing about the franchise and how to write a multiverse story. I did enjoy the stories of MK1 and KR but feel very mixed on how they were executed and get the feeling that there were things that were cut from both of them.
Nah, that's not even MCU. NRS already worked with multiverse stuff in Injustice (especially Injustice 2) and I'm pretty sure it was before MCU started going crazy about multiverse. Now they just implemented it into MK. Possibly it was a demand from WB. Anyway, it's very likely just a cheaper way to introduce more characters without creating new models, animations etc.
There wasn't even much of an indication of them being used. For all we know this is how Havik is naturally and the kamidogus are basically just decorations to him.

I actually liked this dlc. It had it’s flaws but it was something different which I liked now look everyone has their own opinion about it. But I enjoyed this DLC.
I would like Bi-Han to have his pesonality from Mortal Kombat Mythologies Sub-Zero. There he was somehow honorable, he shown compasion and mercy to Sareena and after Raiden explained him that what he did was extremely wrong regarding Shinnok's amulet he goes back to the Neatherrealm, face Shinnok, managing to survive him and retrieve the amulet to Raiden. Also in MK 11, I remember that in Noob Saibot's interactions with Fujin, they talked about the events from Mortal Kombat Mythologies Sub-Zero so that Noob Saibot was the Bi-Han from that game. Also, it would have been nice having Sareena (the one from MK X) trying to somehow make Noob Saibot get cleansed of the evil which corrupted him by Quan Chi and not converting a character's gender for the sake of puting Noob Saibot in a some sort of a relationship with that character. I would love to see some sort of an ,,Anti-hero" Noob Saibot, making a great character in the story. That's my point of view.

If you have seen the concept arts, you can see they are elements that don't appear during the story expansion like a soldier Sonya Blade or that fleshy planet (eye? mouth? whatever that is). It seems that the story was much more longer but for some reason, they had to scrap some of the ideas. Maybe we could have seen the resistance faction that we heard from emperor rain.
I've said this before but trying to condense my thoughts and give alternative ideas will come off as writing an essay. A lot of these ideas and criticisms line up with my own but trying to come up with a revised story is permanently ingrained in me where I can't help but imagine what could've been. -A lot of things felt rushed but I think it would help if Cyrax was given 2 jobbers to fight at once, a zeterran and tarkartan enemy with no kameos to give us some time to feel her character. -The wedding has some high and low points but I can't help but feel that the main champions were only there because they were invited to a wedding, what were Raiden, Kenshi, and Kung Lao doing off screen? At least let us see them fight Sektor and Bi Han to show how busy the raid is and give us an explanation for how Harumi could've been a casualty, maybe freeze some of the champions so they are left out of commission for the rest of the story. -Almost everything in the Outworld court and Havik's introduction was just fine, all I ask for is a change in dialogue to give us the more motivation than Bi Han going full Leroy Jenkings; Havik thanks Liu Kang for the inspiration of parallel worlds clashing into each other, he reveals that his first conquest was merging a world where Mileena dominated the realms thanks to her army of clones (reference to the season of the huntress of invasions), and for his gratitude he will make Liu Kang's world the absolute last timeline to conquer before he steals Geras. -We should've seen Bi Han fight the hoard of Haviks before Titan Havik tells us that he has something special for Bi Han, telling Kenshi and Takeda to return him back alive after he exhausts himself. -The introduction of Havik's timeline could've been amazing with a bit of foreshadowing; after Cyrax noticed a waterfall flowing upwards, she should've said something like "this water doesn't feel natural, it's almost alien" after she touched it with her fingers. When the group meet up with Emperor Rain, he can tell us that his timeline was the last one merged with Havik's and how his empire was stolen because of an invasion of huntresses with disgusting mouths (linking what Havik said about conquering Mileena's timeline). He also explains that water in this world has a deadly property that forces anything it touches to rapidly age, because he's a water mage he can stop that effect from happening but only for a brief period of time or else it will also affect him too. That bit will make Cyrax look at her fingers to notice how they look slightly wrinkled compared to the rest and is further demonstrated to us when Reiko and Li Mei slowly age into raisins before Tanya decapitates them and before Rain's arms aging into boney sticks before he's smashed to jelly. -The scene with Orin could've began and ended better if Sektor used her shield to absorb some dragon fire and then complain how her suit uses the excess energy to power itself but when it overheats it sends a neuro signal to her brain, telling us that she needs to figure a way to bypass that flaw and minimize damage to whoever uses the suit as a hint for a future cyberization program. That scene should've ended after the group are sent to the citadel and Titan Havik drags out Orin into the colosseum to punish her meddling. He tells Kenshi to warn his minions while he gives his audience a proper show, right before he leaps into the colosseum where the crowd starts cheering as fire and Orin's roar echoes into the next scene. -Lastly and fundamentally speaking, the citadel and almost everything inside the pyramid maze should've given us more character mash ups from the end of the mainline story campaign with a special treat of fighting a Goro-Motaro hybrid before we fight Bi Han. I don't think the ending was bad however it absolutely left us wanting more, a sense of resolve or a conclusion that I personally think might've gone over budget.
Really enjoyed your review of Khaos Reigns! I do agree that this expansion was way too short. Took me two days to complete it, and that was because I started late the previous night. I am glad that NRS let Harumi live for once. Hopefully she actually becomes playable in a future installment. I seriously thought that hand that was tied to Noob Saibot's belt was Smoke's! Theory was that Noob killed Smoke and that's why he was missing. Yeah, so that got thrown of the window. Titan Havik played out just as he should have. Dude was made to be a main boss character. Don't get why it took so long to put him in that position. Going back to the end battle, it sucks that we don't have a real conclusion to what happed to Titan Havik. Did he go to the Void? Did he meet up with Titan Raiden, who got tossed there in Season 5 of Invasions? And I don't think Noob Saibot is done yet. His ego is infinite and he's too full of piss, vinegar and pettiness to stay down. Like you said, in his mind, he feels that he is right. Sektor is going to help him in some way. With all that being said...who's going to be the next Sub Zero? Sorry about getting long winded with this. It was so much to absorb!
If any further story dlc is included in this fame, it should solely focus on Outworld and the threat of Onaga next fame and introduce characters like Jade, Sonya and maybe even Jax
@@TortoiseNotTurtle I think a lot of fans would agree. MK is in an identity crises with terrible writing to go with it. What's even more disappointing was that mk1 was initially a promise to start over with a more simpler, cohesive story and then they completely ruin that half way through the story. I lost all interest when the multiverse came into play. I actually lost all interest in the games going forward. Hopefully the 2nd movie will be better.

Like, had the base game saw a bunch of deaths of the cast only to see them replaced by alternate versions that’s one thing but that doesn’t happen. Also, still hate the idea that somehow everyone is a titan just because even though it logically makes no sense. ALSO there’s no rhyme or reason for a lot of the multiverse changes whether that be gender swaps or weird skins or familial relationships changed or even the character mixing so it gets incredibly convoluted immediately. What’s really disappointing is there are *more* than enough characters throughout all of the various MK games, tv shows, movies, and comics that could be brought in if they needed to buff out the roster or introduce minor characters for a gag but NOOOOO let’s just introduce *another* version of Johnny Cage as if Janet and the mime weren’t enough (WW2 Johnny could’ve literally been a Jax or, if they needed a quippy funny man, make it Mokap, just do something creative with it).

Always glad to listen to your videos! I agree with your negative points, but disagree with some of your positive points and given it a 4/10. The raid of the wedding could've been a tense and dramatic scene but to me, it was ruined by characters pausing to crack jokes, no main characters truly getting hurt or killed and they stop and speak cringey dialog while acting is if people in their clans aren't getting killed. In a scene like this, less dialog and story through action would've been better. Honestly, the dialog felt like it was so poorly written by outdated AI and I couldn't connect to anything going on. They desperately need better writers.
I think you’re being way too lenient. Havik was menacing and chaotic in the start, but eventually became a generic angry villain. That was disappointing
This shit was EXACTLY MY FEELINGS. I liked it, there was some bullshit and I’m kinda tired of hearing the word “timeline”, but I like the characters, and of course any time Titan Havik was on screen, he was INSANE
This DLC was a robbery, I feel bad for anyone who got the bundle. N I really wanted this game to do better but it’s just failing with this new timeline stuff
I can't shake off a feeling that energy between Liu Kang and Bi Han near the end of DLC is basically Injustice 2 Batman and Superman. Even to the point of imprisoning the bad guy from the duo to remove him from the picture. Cyrax could even fill the Supergirl role from Injustice 2 and Sektor filling for Wonder Woman.
It was good and bad at the same time truth is Havoc can't be a main villain, its weird that Bi Han is Noob again technically there's no Sub Zero, it was cool to see Rain and Tanya in a different way too much Sector not enough Cyrax if they do another DLC bring back Jade Sonya Jax Kotal since they been mentioned in intros at least 1 member of the black dragon just have 1 of your main 3 villians ( Shang Tsung Quan Chi or Shao) be the villian probably Shao then introduce Onaga in the next game also let Kitana and Smoke get some shine

This is my full review please read: It was just the story itself the stages and the cinematography and all that including artwork and music. was amazing but the story itself doesn't have any gripping moments or having a story ending and the fact that the story makes no sense. I believe that everyone is doing the right thing by protecting his employees by blocking the person that threatens his employees he is not blocking everybody else as far as I know. The horse concept art is from the stage. If you go to the chaos Market stage right in the middle of the stage in the background towards the top is a horse . You finish Noob story in sectors story ending I hope that with a Kombat Pack 3 the story will be complete and be better. It disappoints me because I know the story had so much potential and it's like they wasted that opportunity. Makes me sad wish that the story had been longer. I also wish that Johnny Cage had been left out it just seems out of place and like he pops up out of nowhere and he doesn't really have something to add to the story I feel like they could have added another character that would have added more to the story. And being that it's chaos around havoc in both Mortal Kombat and Havoc are about chaos and blood they could have gone wild with the storyline and they didn't what they could have just thought of really anything and had fun with it that's what I mean it lost opportunity and I'm disappointed because there was a lot of potential. Also what's all this about saving people and then not knowing where they end up and we can't kill people and we need to find peace search for complete opposite of what Mortal Kombat is about so it's like you weren't even watching Mortal Kombat because they didn't want to kill anybody and then work you don't even find out what happens after. Whatever happened to Noob, havoc, and the Dragon??? I also think the Jumbotron that's really cool and that the stage background but I do think the eyeball would have been better. I love everything about the towers of time and mini map. I like Cyrex and Sektor gameplay and I'm surprised because at first I did not like the gender swap idea but I actually don't mind it now. Out of the three guest characters all I care about is Ghostface I don't care about Conan or T 1000. I like animalities. The story is forgettable
I've heard mixed opinions but I love it. While the story isn't as substantial as Aftermath, A. It sets up a LOT of good stuff, B. the rewards for playing through it are dope AF. The plot isn't bad but they definitely could have done more.
Well this dlc did actually reveal some interesting details that hint at the future of mortal kombat if you know where to look 1. It confirmed that liu kang timeline is the original and that could mean the one being only exists in that universe. 2. In a fight between sector and Reiko the dialog was I can’t believe you manage to tame Onaga. Not well enough he escaped. (or turned on them can’t remember exactly) that means onaga is lose and is terrorising the Outworld. Which could be future games or dlc

I couldn’t stand the dlc. Sektor trying to guilt trip Kuai Liang LIKE BI HAN DIDNT BETRAY THE FATHER AND LET HIM DIE!! Dialogue should’ve been more emotional and lines should’ve been added in my opinion. For example: Sektor: Kuai Liang has forgotten how to honor his family. Kuai: HONOR?!?? WHAT HONOR IS THERE IN BETRAYING YOUR OWN FATHER!! Your obsession with bi-Han has you completely blind of what honor is! Don’t speak another word Sektor or you will stay here WITH him. I feel like Kuai Liang should’ve DEFINITELY pushed back on Noob and check his ego like Kuai Liang: *pushes Noob back* NO BI-HAN! You forget, I don’t not take orders for you! Fight at your own leisure but I will fight as I please. As Shiri Ryu. And lastly Liu Kang waited WAY too long to check Noob. Soon as he tried pushing Liu, he should should’ve fire balled him or hit him with one of those power punches, then talk down to him. 😂
I like to think that there's gonna be another story expansion mostly because of how it feels like this game is actually more so phasing out the multiverse bs, be it with how abrupt the ending to this expansion is or supposedly how invasions as a mode will be retired (or repeat rotation) without any new plots or events. Yeah your argument is quite valid as to Onaga and Shao's rebellion deserving a proper game for itself, but maybe it would work well to end the full story mode by concluding with something actually relating to Liu Kang's new era. Especially since this might be the last MK game for a long while (it could probably even lead into an actual reboot from scratch and not more resets).
I'm a huge mk fan, and I love mk1 very much...but the dlc story was horrible to me. It was quite boring and all over the place. The only saving grace to me would be another dlc expansion to wrap up the story...😢
The dlc as a whole was the weakest in any game NRS has made in a long time, they tried to take elements from past games (like the kamidoku's) and failed to utilize them properly, cyrax and sektor, while gameplay wise was good, felt more like love interests for Bi-han and Kuai Liang, then to top it off they literally just left Titan Havoc laying on the ground, not dead, just in time out, like he can't just grow his limbs back, overall I don't understand why they felt like there was any danger when they left the BIGGEST THREAT AND CAUSE FOR THE DLC laying on the ground like a newborn baby unable to crawl, overall the dlc really missed the mark, it felt like they were trying to hit a target and missed, with a missile
Low key, I would have preferred Havik (not Titan Havik) to be the main villain causing chaos and threatening the peaceful era Liu Kang had envisioned, using the Kamidogu. We will still get acquainted with the characters and go through the tournament between Earthrealm and Outworld. But it would be later revealed that someone has been pulling the strings behind Havik's plot all this time (PS: Shang Sung who became a Titan using the Kamidogu) and the main crisis would be revealed in the next installment. Also, the usual Lin Kuei betrayal plotline could occur here, then Smoke be taken hostage by Titan Shang Sung to be turned to Noob Saibot and later rescued by Scorpion and Subzero in the next installment (3D era MK fans rejoice for Noob Smoke). In this case, Noob Saibot is mind-controlled by Shang Sung, and would be revealed as a split personality between the main body and his shadow. Noob, who loves the thrill of head to head combat, and Smoke, who has always been trained as a strategic assassin but is willing to cooperate with Noob to escape Shang Sung's grasp. Then the DLC would be Liu Kang sending Raiden, Kung Lao, Kenshi, and Johnny Cage to explore the other 4 realms, eventually revealing that General Shao is causing mass conflicts in those realms (yes, I am referring to the Shao war that Mileena was constantly referring to in the DLC). So, Liu Kang would resolve the war to focus on the impending doom Titan Shang Sung will bring in the near future.
The Developers insert their politics that’s why we got cyrax as the main character because she’s black, trans, and a women notice the connection with the real world issue
Tbh mk1 could be a multiverse game if they had just done havik instead of Shang tsung was mk11's villain. Havik and onaga would work in mk1 as main villains
5 chapters I like majority of the dlc story I still think that there will be a 3rd story cause it didn't have a to be continued or a after credit scene. The ending was bad but I am not gonna be salty about it. Cause I rate the whole dlc story a 8/10.
Awesome DLC Story, though, I was a little disappointed of how Titan Havik was defeated. Also, I kinda agree with both Noob and Liu. First, Liu doesn’t want to kill millions of lives in Titan Havik’s timeline; second, Noob Saibot does have a point about those people of that timeline not be a concern either. Truly, there are no easy solutions. So pretty much, Titan Havik is still alive, and hopefully, a better solution can be made for our heroes. Also, I feel such chemistry between Sektor and Bi Han/Noob Saibot, even though, Bi Han is still a big jerk. Already, I like Empress Tanya and Emperor Rain. R.I.P., Emperor Rain. Nonetheless, MK1 Khaos Reigns is awesome.
You know, I think I'm just prepared to give up on Havik. This was his big chance to actually make me care about him as a character and it didn't even come close to working. He can stay left behind.
My question though is the effects of another timeline changing the entire aspect of Noob Saibot, instead of Shadows of the Neatherrealm it’s the Shadows of Kaos timeline. Why we didn’t see a Kaos Noob Saibot vs the Kaos created Noob Saibot that we play as. Cuz in Lui Kangs timeline, Noob Saibot was never supposed to happen, at least to what we know of. So does this mean that someone else in Lui’s timeline will take on the mantle of Noob Saibot meanwhile the Noob we know will be the Shadow Master?
I will never understand why people get so up in arms about fights like Noob vs. Havik, or Johnny/Cassie Cage vs. Shinnok. Gods in Mortal Kombat have ALWAYS been killable! Raiden, you might know him, god of Thunder, has existed since the first game and you can tear his head off just the same as anyone else. Any character can beat Shang Tsung in MK1 (the arcade one), anyone can beat Shao Kahn in MK 2 and 3, and Liu Kang, the guy who canonically does both of those things, is just a normal fuckin’ guy who knows Kung Fu and can shoot fire balls! ANY MK fan who isn’t fermenting in a pot of distilled misery should be able to understand that that’s just how powerscaling works in MK lore. The stronger guy does not have a 100% chance of beating the weaker guy. And a “God” is just code for “Guy who has more crazy magic than most guys”. That’s how I like it, honestly. What’s the fun in putting two characters in the ring with each other if you can just say, “Oh, one’s a god, he literally cannot lose.”?

Nah, that's not even MCU. NRS already worked with multiverse stuff in Injustice (especially Injustice 2) and I'm pretty sure it was before MCU started going crazy about multiverse. Now they just implemented it into MK. Possibly it was a demand from WB. Anyway, it's very likely just a cheaper way to introduce more characters without creating new models, animations etc.

There wasn't even much of an indication of them being used. For all we know this is how Havik is naturally and the kamidogus are basically just decorations to him.

I actually liked this dlc. It had it’s flaws but it was something different which I liked now look everyone has their own opinion about it. But I enjoyed this DLC.

I would like Bi-Han to have his pesonality from Mortal Kombat Mythologies Sub-Zero. There he was somehow honorable, he shown compasion and mercy to Sareena and after Raiden explained him that what he did was extremely wrong regarding Shinnok's amulet he goes back to the Neatherrealm, face Shinnok, managing to survive him and retrieve the amulet to Raiden.
Also in MK 11, I remember that in Noob Saibot's interactions with Fujin, they talked about the events from Mortal Kombat Mythologies Sub-Zero so that Noob Saibot was the Bi-Han from that game.
Also, it would have been nice having Sareena (the one from MK X) trying to somehow make Noob Saibot get cleansed of the evil which corrupted him by Quan Chi and not converting a character's gender for the sake of puting Noob Saibot in a some sort of a relationship with that character.
I would love to see some sort of an ,,Anti-hero" Noob Saibot, making a great character in the story.

If you have seen the concept arts, you can see they are elements that don't appear during the story expansion like a soldier Sonya Blade or that fleshy planet (eye? mouth? whatever that is). It seems that the story was much more longer but for some reason, they had to scrap some of the ideas. Maybe we could have seen the resistance faction that we heard from emperor rain.
It’s like they forget about all the characters powers like, Emperor Rain can TELEPORT he could of just teleported out of the trap smh…
My theory is that he suddenly realized how stupid everything was about to get and decided to off himself to spare himself of that cringe lol
I've said this before but trying to condense my thoughts and give alternative ideas will come off as writing an essay. A lot of these ideas and criticisms line up with my own but trying to come up with a revised story is permanently ingrained in me where I can't help but imagine what could've been.
-A lot of things felt rushed but I think it would help if Cyrax was given 2 jobbers to fight at once, a zeterran and tarkartan enemy with no kameos to give us some time to feel her character.
-The wedding has some high and low points but I can't help but feel that the main champions were only there because they were invited to a wedding, what were Raiden, Kenshi, and Kung Lao doing off screen? At least let us see them fight Sektor and Bi Han to show how busy the raid is and give us an explanation for how Harumi could've been a casualty, maybe freeze some of the champions so they are left out of commission for the rest of the story.
-Almost everything in the Outworld court and Havik's introduction was just fine, all I ask for is a change in dialogue to give us the more motivation than Bi Han going full Leroy Jenkings; Havik thanks Liu Kang for the inspiration of parallel worlds clashing into each other, he reveals that his first conquest was merging a world where Mileena dominated the realms thanks to her army of clones (reference to the season of the huntress of invasions), and for his gratitude he will make Liu Kang's world the absolute last timeline to conquer before he steals Geras.
-We should've seen Bi Han fight the hoard of Haviks before Titan Havik tells us that he has something special for Bi Han, telling Kenshi and Takeda to return him back alive after he exhausts himself.
-The introduction of Havik's timeline could've been amazing with a bit of foreshadowing; after Cyrax noticed a waterfall flowing upwards, she should've said something like "this water doesn't feel natural, it's almost alien" after she touched it with her fingers. When the group meet up with Emperor Rain, he can tell us that his timeline was the last one merged with Havik's and how his empire was stolen because of an invasion of huntresses with disgusting mouths (linking what Havik said about conquering Mileena's timeline). He also explains that water in this world has a deadly property that forces anything it touches to rapidly age, because he's a water mage he can stop that effect from happening but only for a brief period of time or else it will also affect him too. That bit will make Cyrax look at her fingers to notice how they look slightly wrinkled compared to the rest and is further demonstrated to us when Reiko and Li Mei slowly age into raisins before Tanya decapitates them and before Rain's arms aging into boney sticks before he's smashed to jelly.
-The scene with Orin could've began and ended better if Sektor used her shield to absorb some dragon fire and then complain how her suit uses the excess energy to power itself but when it overheats it sends a neuro signal to her brain, telling us that she needs to figure a way to bypass that flaw and minimize damage to whoever uses the suit as a hint for a future cyberization program. That scene should've ended after the group are sent to the citadel and Titan Havik drags out Orin into the colosseum to punish her meddling. He tells Kenshi to warn his minions while he gives his audience a proper show, right before he leaps into the colosseum where the crowd starts cheering as fire and Orin's roar echoes into the next scene.
-Lastly and fundamentally speaking, the citadel and almost everything inside the pyramid maze should've given us more character mash ups from the end of the mainline story campaign with a special treat of fighting a Goro-Motaro hybrid before we fight Bi Han.
I don't think the ending was bad however it absolutely left us wanting more, a sense of resolve or a conclusion that I personally think might've gone over budget.
Really enjoyed your review of Khaos Reigns! I do agree that this expansion was way too short. Took me two days to complete it, and that was because I started late the previous night. I am glad that NRS let Harumi live for once. Hopefully she actually becomes playable in a future installment. I seriously thought that hand that was tied to Noob Saibot's belt was Smoke's! Theory was that Noob killed Smoke and that's why he was missing. Yeah, so that got thrown of the window.
Titan Havik played out just as he should have. Dude was made to be a main boss character. Don't get why it took so long to put him in that position. Going back to the end battle, it sucks that we don't have a real conclusion to what happed to Titan Havik. Did he go to the Void? Did he meet up with Titan Raiden, who got tossed there in Season 5 of Invasions?
And I don't think Noob Saibot is done yet. His ego is infinite and he's too full of piss, vinegar and pettiness to stay down. Like you said, in his mind, he feels that he is right. Sektor is going to help him in some way. With all that being said...who's going to be the next Sub Zero?

What's even more disappointing was that mk1 was initially a promise to start over with a more simpler, cohesive story and then they completely ruin that half way through the story. I lost all interest when the multiverse came into play. I actually lost all interest in the games going forward. Hopefully the 2nd movie will be better.

ALSO there’s no rhyme or reason for a lot of the multiverse changes whether that be gender swaps or weird skins or familial relationships changed or even the character mixing so it gets incredibly convoluted immediately.
What’s really disappointing is there are *more* than enough characters throughout all of the various MK games, tv shows, movies, and comics that could be brought in if they needed to buff out the roster or introduce minor characters for a gag but NOOOOO let’s just introduce *another* version of Johnny Cage as if Janet and the mime weren’t enough (WW2 Johnny could’ve literally been a Jax or, if they needed a quippy funny man, make it Mokap, just do something creative with it).

The raid of the wedding could've been a tense and dramatic scene but to me, it was ruined by characters pausing to crack jokes, no main characters truly getting hurt or killed and they stop and speak cringey dialog while acting is if people in their clans aren't getting killed. In a scene like this, less dialog and story through action would've been better.
Honestly, the dialog felt like it was so poorly written by outdated AI and I couldn't connect to anything going on. They desperately need better writers.

I can't shake off a feeling that energy between Liu Kang and Bi Han near the end of DLC is basically Injustice 2 Batman and Superman. Even to the point of imprisoning the bad guy from the duo to remove him from the picture. Cyrax could even fill the Supergirl role from Injustice 2 and Sektor filling for Wonder Woman.

This is my full review please read: It was just the story itself the stages and the cinematography and all that including artwork and music. was amazing but the story itself doesn't have any gripping moments or having a story ending and the fact that the story makes no sense. I believe that everyone is doing the right thing by protecting his employees by blocking the person that threatens his employees he is not blocking everybody else as far as I know. The horse concept art is from the stage. If you go to the chaos Market stage right in the middle of the stage in the background towards the top is a horse . You finish Noob story in sectors story ending I hope that with a Kombat Pack 3 the story will be complete and be better. It disappoints me because I know the story had so much potential and it's like they wasted that opportunity. Makes me sad wish that the story had been longer. I also wish that Johnny Cage had been left out it just seems out of place and like he pops up out of nowhere and he doesn't really have something to add to the story I feel like they could have added another character that would have added more to the story. And being that it's chaos around havoc in both Mortal Kombat and Havoc are about chaos and blood they could have gone wild with the storyline and they didn't what they could have just thought of really anything and had fun with it that's what I mean it lost opportunity and I'm disappointed because there was a lot of potential. Also what's all this about saving people and then not knowing where they end up and we can't kill people and we need to find peace search for complete opposite of what Mortal Kombat is about so it's like you weren't even watching Mortal Kombat because they didn't want to kill anybody and then work you don't even find out what happens after. Whatever happened to Noob, havoc, and the Dragon??? I also think the Jumbotron that's really cool and that the stage background but I do think the eyeball would have been better. I love everything about the towers of time and mini map. I like Cyrex and Sektor gameplay and I'm surprised because at first I did not like the gender swap idea but I actually don't mind it now. Out of the three guest characters all I care about is Ghostface I don't care about Conan or T 1000. I like animalities. The story is forgettable

Well this dlc did actually reveal some interesting details that hint at the future of mortal kombat if you know where to look
1. It confirmed that liu kang timeline is the original and that could mean the one being only exists in that universe.
2. In a fight between sector and Reiko the dialog was I can’t believe you manage to tame Onaga. Not well enough he escaped. (or turned on them can’t remember exactly) that means onaga is lose and is terrorising the Outworld. Which could be future games or dlc

MK1 was so good until the multiverse bs. I was fully all in for the idea of reimagining the original cast but they really screwed it about midway through the story

I couldn’t stand the dlc. Sektor trying to guilt trip Kuai Liang LIKE BI HAN DIDNT BETRAY THE FATHER AND LET HIM DIE!! Dialogue should’ve been more emotional and lines should’ve been added in my opinion.
For example:
Sektor: Kuai Liang has forgotten how to honor his family.
Kuai: HONOR?!?? WHAT HONOR IS THERE IN BETRAYING YOUR OWN FATHER!! Your obsession with bi-Han has you completely blind of what honor is! Don’t speak another word Sektor or you will stay here WITH him.
I feel like Kuai Liang should’ve DEFINITELY pushed back on Noob and check his ego like
Kuai Liang: *pushes Noob back* NO BI-HAN! You forget, I don’t not take orders for you! Fight at your own leisure but I will fight as I please. As Shiri Ryu.
And lastly Liu Kang waited WAY too long to check Noob. Soon as he tried pushing Liu, he should should’ve fire balled him or hit him with one of those power punches, then talk down to him. 😂
I like to think that there's gonna be another story expansion mostly because of how it feels like this game is actually more so phasing out the multiverse bs, be it with how abrupt the ending to this expansion is or supposedly how invasions as a mode will be retired (or repeat rotation) without any new plots or events. Yeah your argument is quite valid as to Onaga and Shao's rebellion deserving a proper game for itself, but maybe it would work well to end the full story mode by concluding with something actually relating to Liu Kang's new era. Especially since this might be the last MK game for a long while (it could probably even lead into an actual reboot from scratch and not more resets).
I'm a huge mk fan, and I love mk1 very much...but the dlc story was horrible to me. It was quite boring and all over the place. The only saving grace to me would be another dlc expansion to wrap up the story...😢

The dlc as a whole was the weakest in any game NRS has made in a long time, they tried to take elements from past games (like the kamidoku's) and failed to utilize them properly, cyrax and sektor, while gameplay wise was good, felt more like love interests for Bi-han and Kuai Liang, then to top it off they literally just left Titan Havoc laying on the ground, not dead, just in time out, like he can't just grow his limbs back, overall I don't understand why they felt like there was any danger when they left the BIGGEST THREAT AND CAUSE FOR THE DLC laying on the ground like a newborn baby unable to crawl, overall the dlc really missed the mark, it felt like they were trying to hit a target and missed, with a missile
Low key, I would have preferred Havik (not Titan Havik) to be the main villain causing chaos and threatening the peaceful era Liu Kang had envisioned, using the Kamidogu. We will still get acquainted with the characters and go through the tournament between Earthrealm and Outworld. But it would be later revealed that someone has been pulling the strings behind Havik's plot all this time (PS: Shang Sung who became a Titan using the Kamidogu) and the main crisis would be revealed in the next installment.
Also, the usual Lin Kuei betrayal plotline could occur here, then Smoke be taken hostage by Titan Shang Sung to be turned to Noob Saibot and later rescued by Scorpion and Subzero in the next installment (3D era MK fans rejoice for Noob Smoke). In this case, Noob Saibot is mind-controlled by Shang Sung, and would be revealed as a split personality between the main body and his shadow. Noob, who loves the thrill of head to head combat, and Smoke, who has always been trained as a strategic assassin but is willing to cooperate with Noob to escape Shang Sung's grasp.
Then the DLC would be Liu Kang sending Raiden, Kung Lao, Kenshi, and Johnny Cage to explore the other 4 realms, eventually revealing that General Shao is causing mass conflicts in those realms (yes, I am referring to the Shao war that Mileena was constantly referring to in the DLC). So, Liu Kang would resolve the war to focus on the impending doom Titan Shang Sung will bring in the near future.

Awesome DLC Story, though, I was a little disappointed of how Titan Havik was defeated. Also, I kinda agree with both Noob and Liu. First, Liu doesn’t want to kill millions of lives in Titan Havik’s timeline; second, Noob Saibot does have a point about those people of that timeline not be a concern either. Truly, there are no easy solutions. So pretty much, Titan Havik is still alive, and hopefully, a better solution can be made for our heroes. Also, I feel such chemistry between Sektor and Bi Han/Noob Saibot, even though, Bi Han is still a big jerk. Already, I like Empress Tanya and Emperor Rain. R.I.P., Emperor Rain. Nonetheless, MK1 Khaos Reigns is awesome.

You know, I think I'm just prepared to give up on Havik. This was his big chance to actually make me care about him as a character and it didn't even come close to working. He can stay left behind.
My question though is the effects of another timeline changing the entire aspect of Noob Saibot, instead of Shadows of the Neatherrealm it’s the Shadows of Kaos timeline. Why we didn’t see a Kaos Noob Saibot vs the Kaos created Noob Saibot that we play as. Cuz in Lui Kangs timeline, Noob Saibot was never supposed to happen, at least to what we know of.
So does this mean that someone else in Lui’s timeline will take on the mantle of Noob Saibot meanwhile the Noob we know will be the Shadow Master?

I will never understand why people get so up in arms about fights like Noob vs. Havik, or Johnny/Cassie Cage vs. Shinnok. Gods in Mortal Kombat have ALWAYS been killable! Raiden, you might know him, god of Thunder, has existed since the first game and you can tear his head off just the same as anyone else. Any character can beat Shang Tsung in MK1 (the arcade one), anyone can beat Shao Kahn in MK 2 and 3, and Liu Kang, the guy who canonically does both of those things, is just a normal fuckin’ guy who knows Kung Fu and can shoot fire balls!
ANY MK fan who isn’t fermenting in a pot of distilled misery should be able to understand that that’s just how powerscaling works in MK lore. The stronger guy does not have a 100% chance of beating the weaker guy. And a “God” is just code for “Guy who has more crazy magic than most guys”. That’s how I like it, honestly. What’s the fun in putting two characters in the ring with each other if you can just say, “Oh, one’s a god, he literally cannot lose.”?
