Another XLights / Mac user here. I haven't checked recently, but is there still a problem when switching between Preview in 3D and 2D, in terms of the display jumping around? That is, you get your whole house/yard centered nicely in the 3D preview, then when you switch to 2D, the whole display jumps off screen (or nearly) - or vice versa? You mentioned this issue a few vids back, suggesting the preview code "needed some love" (up till that point, I thought this was just a problem on my Mac). DEFINITELY - definitely happy yo see the effects center-set change. Even on a small system like mine, having the center wander around every time I moved a prop was driving me crazy.
@ 10:27 in the Import dialog.. expand a model to get to the submodels.. then click on one of the items and right click.. there you can expand/collapse all. It is the Image Model/Skull, Skelly..you coulnd't (used to be abel to) assign size.
@xTremeSequences No.. the sort of the Available models and Effects on the right... is what broke it. Used to be able to sort by models but not effects. But hey.. .we have a Mac so it is working for us.
Id hate to upset a work in progress but id love the see a center point name ? so you could right click and recreate a known center point from another group view e,g center point one, center point two ... would save a lot of time reentering the same numbers per group view if you were trying to keep one focus point over a number of groups
Thank God Gil fixed that. It’s one of the most annoying things when adding new props to the show. Now if they would “windowize” the house and model windows with minimize, maximize and move tools. I’ve been asking about that since 2019.
@@xTremeSequencesI managed over 100 coders in my last position. I do know that UX and coding are two different skill sets. Some people have one, some have the other, few have both.
Ron, Thank You!

I have not seen this issue in the recent releases so should be all good.

I wonder if that is what broke xLights on the Window's side?

Very true. I'm sure they will sort it soon for Windows.@@alexb4734

That would be very useful. I like the idea.

Yes, I was so happy to see this enhancement. I can live with the other challenges and sure they can be addressed in time.
When you say "that's just brilliant," is that a euphemism for "It works intuitively now"?
I think if you were a coder for xLights you might think differently.😁
