1971 Interdominion Pacers' Final - Addington, Christchurch: Junior's Image (Disqualified)

A controversial Interdominion final when five days after the race, Junior's Image from West Australia was disqualified after a test revealed caffeine. Stella Frost was declared the winner.

Still can't distinguish where the finish line is, thank goodness times have changed.
Juniors Image should have been disqualified for pushing Holy Hal out of the way down the back straight the last time, you can see Coulson angle Juniors Image head sideways and push off the fence, could have taken half the field down.
Justice was served in the end.

Gutsy run from Maneroa the horse they used to call the Mount Hutt Camel. He looked shot at the turn but kept going. I was there as a kid that day and hated the Aussies. A few years later I'm watching some of these Aussies at Gloucester Park WA but def not PHIL Coulson

Junior's Image was a great WA pacer, but not as good as Mount Eden.
