I love how there are clubs with massive stadiums, and clubs like Luton Town that play in front of a few thousand, all in the same league. Chicago Blackhawks - Major Frederic McLaughlin, founder of the franchise, named his team the “Blackhawks” after the US Army unit he served in during World War One, the 86th Infantry Division, also known as the Black Hawk Division. The unit was named after Black Hawk, the Sauk leader of the eponymous Black Hawk War of 1832. THEY ARE NOT RACIST

I think the Rocket City Trash Pandas have to make any short list on good names. They're a minor league baseball team from Huntsville, Alabama, a major site for the American space program. I was happy when Charlotte was able to switch back to being the Hornets because of the history of the name.
