That "Now You Know..." moment really cracked me up!! I'm 100% not an expert, but I actually liked the soft-fade background on the 1st deer. I agree with the critique on the deer itself, and the whole tattoo critique is almost certainly correct. I just like it on a personal taste basis. Keep up the good work, Pony! I love watching and listening to everything you do. Can anyone say first hand... is he that cool, calm, and laid back when he's tattooing you? That would be awesome.
i havent been tattooed by him, but ive been in his shop getting tattooed by one of the other artists while he's tattooing, and he's looked at my finished tattoos, can confirm he's just as chill in rl, 10/10 personality
The way the cheese holes line up at the front aren’t necessarily wrong, cheese doesn’t always have these nice single uniform air bubbles but them putting the solid black line from corner to corner right through them is what makes it read incorrectly. Plus, in a lot of ways, graphically I wouldn’t have done a double bubble right on the front corner like that since it’s the only one in this wedge of cheese which also leads to confusion.
Lol, the sloth thing 🤣 The answer you got is not wrong, but it's also not very specific. Marsupials are the mammals with pouches that "birth" their babies part way through development but then carry them in the pouch for further development. Monotremes are the 2 mammals that lay eggs (platypus and echidna). Everything else that's a mammal is a placental mammal. Us, dogs, deer, mice, whales... More specifically sloths are Xenarthrans, which puts them in the same clade as anteaters and armadillos.
Thank you for that explanation! I’m very interested in animals of all kinds. I grew up with a variety of pets, from gerbils to fancy rats to rabbits, as well as cats and dogs. I started riding horses as a kid, and finally got my own when I was 16. I planned on being a small animal vet from the time I was a little kid (I got turned off large animal vet practices after reading all of James Herriot’s books. Wonderful books, but the life of a large animal vet which he portrayed in his books seemed REALLY rough and unpleasant. Then, as a horse owner, I got to see -and sometimes assist- with equine vet jobs, and saw how physically demanding and extremely dangerous that job is! So decided to stick to small animals 😅). I did make it through a few years at my chosen college as a pre-vet major. Then family tragedy struck, and my younger sister and father passed unexpectedly in quick succession. I moved back in with my mom, as she and I needed each other’s support. I took some classes at a local community college, but focused more on my horse and riding. Purchased a second horse, and spent a huge amount of time at the barn I was boarding my horses at. I was friends with the barn owner/trainer (he inherited the business when his mom passed) and I learned a lot about care and management of horses. I even barn-sat when he and his GF would go out of town. At some point, I realized that although he was a great rider and trainer, he was HORRIBLE at the business aspect. I’m talking bills not being paid, so not having electricity and water. Horses not being scheduled for their vaccinations on time, potential client messages never being answered, the works. So I had the realization that I could do a better job of owning and managing an equestrian facility, so I should buy my own! Luckily, my mom agreed to this crazy career path change, and my trainer’s girlfriend’s mom, who was in real estate, found me a beautiful farm with all of the features the other farm was lacking, most notably acres and acres of fields for the horses to be turned out in. Which is SO important for their physical and mental health! Mom and I bought the farm, she and I ran it together (she had been my lawyer father’s book keeper, so she managed the books). My friend got out of his lease at his farm, and came to work for me doing what he did best- riding and training horses, and giving riding lessons. He taught me more about horse management, including basic medical care (first aid for basically any condition, how to give IM, IV, and subcutaneous injections in the VERY specific places they had to be given. Luckily, my horse was a very good sport during my injection training!). My mom taught me how to do book keeping, invoicing, receiving payments, etc. I read literally hundreds of books on everything from “how to run a successful horse business” (including income making opportunities I hadn’t thought of before) to equine anatomy/physiology, common equine illnesses and how to spot them and provide first aid for them, to all the complexities of equine nutrition, to grass management (gotta know how/when to fertilize your particular type of grass, and how/when to reseed when you have 65+ acres of pastures), and anything else I could read. Went to lots of seminars regarding everything from learning more about business and having a business model; equine nutrition updates; rehab therapy for injured horses, etc. I’m happy and proud to say that my mom and I have owned the farm for about 21-22 years (we did a LOT of total revamping existing buildings and constructing new buildings and riding arenas before we opened for business) and am almost at 20 years of being in business! I took over all the book keeping and business side from my mom after a few years, on top of all of the horse, staff, and property management I was already doing. It’s been HARD work for sure, but I’ve loved it! I certainly wouldn’t have been able to ride and compete as much as I have with a 9-5 job (although I also wouldn’t have worked 10-16 hr days, spent holidays dealing with horse emergencies, and would have CERTAINLY made more money!). But then I also couldn’t have adopted orphan foals and nursed them back to health, adopted other rescue horses and donkeys, and been a nationally listed shelter for evacuees of hurricanes and other natural disasters. I don’t know why I just told you my life story! 😅 But I assume from your very detailed knowledge that you work with animals too. What do you do? Btw, I also ADORE aquatic animals of all types. I’ve been lucky enough to have interacted with dolphins many times (my favorite was the sanctuary which let you swim freely with the dolphins with a snorkel and fins, and let the dolphins decide whether they wanted to interact with you or not. SO much more amazing when they decide to come swim side by side with you, as they do with their friends! Also breathtaking to hear all of the clicks and squeaks underwater as they communicate. I’ve don’t the “trained interactions”, where the dolphins give you “hugs” and pull you along by their dorsal fin. Lots of fun, but this felt MUCH more special). I’ve also gotten to swim and feed stingrays in the ocean in the Cayman Islands, where hundreds of these gentle giants congregate for the tourists to come feed them squid. So many people were scared, but they are just big puppy dogs. They actually beg by “jumping” up on you (aka sliding their big bodies up on you so you can more easily reach the mouths on the underside of their bodies with the fistful of squid!😅). As long as you do the “stingray shuffle” in the sand, so you don’t step on the stingers, you’re golden. I think they are amazing creatures! I also had the privilege of swimming and interacting with a young female sea lion, Wono. She was amazing to watch in the water; SO fast and agile! She also gave very fishy kisses. 🐟💋 😂 My parents encouraged my love for animals, so I have pictures of me and my late sister riding camels and elephants, and kissing giraffes. As a kid, I chose SeaWorld over Disneyworld (didn’t know about SeaWorld’s abusive practices as a kid, of course). I’ve been to every petting zoo I could find, even as an adult! I even rented a mobile petting zoo to come to my farm’s grand opening. TBH, I think I spent more time nursing baby goats and cuddling bunnies than the kids did! 😂 Yes, I am obsessed with animals! If I ever manage to get a tattoo(s), I want memorial portraits of some of my late dogs and horses. Literally don’t have room on my body for all of the animals portraits I want done!😂 Anyway, thanks for listening to me blather on about animals. I hope you get to work with amazing animals too ❤
I find it so funny that Pony is so biased with random deers in the woods while he's sitting in a studio with an illuminated (random?) deerhead on the wall :D
I actually don’t hate either of the deer tattoos. Yes, I wish the deer in the first one was brighter and easier to see, but I like the silhouette of the owl and other wildlife in the trees. For the second deer tattoo, if the attempt at flames was not there, and those mountains Pony suggested WERE there, that would be beautiful! Or if the flames were done WELL, that would be a dope tattoo!
@margauxnodvin7478 same here & PTSD. I'm doing Es- Ketamine. Insurance is paying. 2x week. Starting 3rd month & I have been noticing differences in my mood. The overwhelming intrusive thoughts are much less & easier to control. I'm able to finally relax after being in flight or fight mode for 5 years. But MAKE SURE you have a good therapist to help you process what you're feeling during the treatment process (not in the session, but near. I go the next day after each treatment.) Hope that helps.
Does anyone here have a channel that dies step by steo instructions? Its been a decade since i actually did any tattooing and now i have time and druve again, but id like to taje a run through the basics again, tighten up my memories with the small tricks and tios that make things that much better.
Ive been wanting a whitetailndeer tattoo. But i camt find a good composition for it. I need a really good artist to do it. And they are hatd to find in my state. (VT) and after seeing the 2 deer ones, they are trash and hard to make look good. 😂😂😂 wow those are bad!
There’s something really weird about the antlers, they might have just missed a line but a point from behind on the left looks like it melds into a point from the front which definitely gives AI. And the weird silhouettes in the trees definitely gives off some AI vibes but they might have just too closely copied a real reference without properly thinking through the shapes some of it made but that’s still not something you want to see from a tattoo artist.
I hate those deer in the woods tattoos but to each their own.. but the second one looked really good. The antlers didn’t give me the feeling that they were on fire but the rest of the tattoo looked great, fundamentally.
I like your content Pony as is! The b-roll inserts were super long and (super unnecessary) did nothing for me. Just one viewer's opinion. Dang it, I will subscribe too. I love your content and how dare I comment critically without being a Subscriber!

Haha jokes on you @PonyLawson. I don't have any tattoos, so no need for mad rabbit. :)
Can’t wait to see you on Ink Master 🔥
I feel it's going to be weird lol, like pony is a super chill dude and in every reality tv show they add some unnecessary drama
When I first saw the trailer, I was like HOLY SHIT! That's Pony Lawson!
Same 😊
I haven't watched Ink Master in a long time, having Pony on there might make me start watching again.
@@EP_TattooArthasn’t he already been on ink master?
Cant wait to see you on Ink Master. I wanna see you in the finale!
"Well they look like nipples, and that looks like a veiny... you know!" Welcome to the work of H. R. Giger. There's plenty of that going on 😂😂

That snake around the knife awakened memories, i didn't know i had. Unpleasant ones.
I'm not going to lie.... I've had to watch the video a couple of times because I've been focused on trying to tell if that's pony on his shirt 😂
Same!!
its him, confirmed on his IG story lol
PUAHAHA it is him! I put his face on Robocop, it was too epic to not do 😂

Oh Deer!🦌
Are you wearing a shirt of you as Robocop?
he confirmed on IG that he is lol
So I did see that correctly...that's awesome. Best of luck with ink masters...looks like an interesting season.
Nice shirt!!!

I always look up the artists you critique on Instagram. Another great critique.
Cant wait to see mine getting a critique! Wonder how long it will take!
i loved the first deer.
killer shirt dude!
I just checked out the Insta page and DAMN! If I had a passport, I know where I'd be heading!
The cheese helmet reference made me hit the like button 😂
11:19. Thanks for reminding me, I need to order another one. I've only had six since tearing one in that bar fight with Jean Claude
I find it so funny that Pony is so biased with random deers in the woods while he's sitting in a studio with an illuminated (random?) deerhead on the wall :D
Cheese wench girl here, I would have much prefered the cheese helmet over the hair net I had to wear. Good luck on Ink Master man!
Lets go ink master pony 💪🏻
That shirt is killer 🤙

I NEED that jaws tattoo 🦈🥺
I cannot get over the fact that so many people are just now noticing it’s your face on Robocop!! Ahaha I’ve made the best shirt ever MWUAHAHA 😂🎉
Editing on point
5:29 damn 🔥
You know what goes nicely with cheese? Sausage. "Daddy would you like some sausage?"
Hyena with piercings and flaming antlers? That was my first impression of last tattoo :)
😂😂😂
This the first video since Ink Master announcement?
I think so
How do you find a tattoo artist for a specific style of tattoo you want?
Ponycop shirt?!
Oh, deer! 🦌
Nice shirt
Can you feature brown skin more frequently? I am interested in getting a tattoo but I am not sure what is possible for my skin.
Seriously, is Pony’s shirt a design with his face on some type of mechanical person? What’s the right word for that human/machine combo anyway?
Robocop, half man, half machine. 🤖
@@PonyLawson😂😂😂😂
You have to go watch Alien. Just got my first tattoo and it's Alien themed
Never saw that clip from Fgf before
It could have been better if the t-shirt read: Robotat.
The landscape with the deer, is it a cover-up? I definitely see a skull. Then again, I did have ketamine therapy today.
Does that help? I have treatment resistant depression, and have been considering other therapies
@margauxnodvin7478 same here & PTSD. I'm doing Es- Ketamine. Insurance is paying. 2x week. Starting 3rd month & I have been noticing differences in my mood. The “flag pole” ligns up too well with the deer’s neck and makes it look like it is folded in half
Is no one going to mention that the cheese wedge one looks like it has backwards knees?
And that’s the one he chose for tattoo of the week 💀💀 pony is cooked

The artwork deer with horns on fire had his ear pierced too it looked like to me so the tattoo is true to the original. But why.
Is pony wearing a shirt with his own face on it?
Ive been wanting a whitetailndeer tattoo. But i camt find a good composition for it. I need a really good artist to do it. And they are hatd to find in my state. (VT) and after seeing the 2 deer ones, they are trash and hard to make look good. 😂😂😂 wow those are bad!
Damn you gotta see my tattoos you will die of laughter because if you have a problem with these tattoos and to me there good looking tattoos
A lot chesse 😂
Holy fuck....that's his whole chest! I feel so bad
The face hugger tattoo is to hard to understand. I cant tell if its a bad biomech or sci fi piece lol.
That first deer tattoo looked a bit like it had AI-art as reference, sorry 😔
There’s something really weird about the antlers, they might have just missed a line but a point from behind on the left looks like it melds into a point from the front which definitely gives AI. Oh deer
RoboPony lol
6:10 it's the little TREE near the deer that throws everything off. delete that, and the tattoos is fine
I hate those deer in the woods tattoos but to each their own.. but the second one looked really good. The antlers didn’t give me the feeling that they were on fire but the rest of the tattoo looked great, fundamentally.
🫠
pierce deer, pierced ear hmmmm
The first tatt was a bit cheesy man
Being "The Devil's Advocate" here, but MAYBE the person who is sporting the "Nosferatu" tattoo could be a Seahawks fan???
Nah that Nosferatu is sick as fuck
I'm the first dislike on this video because you said you haven't seen any of the Alien movies or Prometheus.. shame on you.

Yo I think you need art lessons. Please don't talk just to talk. There all this people the think the you're some kind of art profesor. JUST TATTOO BRO
Reading your comment just about gave me a stroke.
I also saw your other comment: if you don’t like Pony’s videos, just go watch someone else.
Your videos are getting really boring. Can you tattoo live of something like that. Please 🙏.
That's kind of rude
