Hydraulic pit at 0:10 looks like Orleans Flat. We dropped in from there to the middle fork a few years ago. At the time the pit was heavily posted as a claim.

Gary, great stuff as usual. I have not been able to find a vid you did a few years back. You were gluing/shaping Styrofoam to the bottom of the coil to show the shape of the wave as the target got deeper. If it is still up could you please link or name it. Thanks.
Hey two toes, you gotta make yourself a hand dredge out of pvc, super easy to do and light weight, so you can suck up those wet crevices.

I notice, when you get a nugget, you pile the paydirt take a scoop , wand it, nothing & toss it, then you take a handful wand the scoop it hits and ya toss the handful without checking it... what if ya had 2 ?!!
I always recheck the area before I move on.

What makes it so hard to get gold if there is water in
the pocket you're clearing out?
When the hole is full of water, as soon as you move the gravel it allows the gold to work it's way down. Once it hits bedrock, it's very hard to get under it to pick it up.
Going to head to Fort Bragg in a week to do some fishing.
