I personally enjoy the kayak videos more.
Josh and Spencer, sitting in a tree😂
Same
Hey stash man
@@natestone8739 kissing
@@natestone8739 It'd have to be a big tree to hold Spencer.
You know it’s going to be a great day when Spencer posts a video
Thanks man!
I love seeing your account pop up on my notifications. Favorite channel on yt
Nice walk-through. Thanks as always for sharing brother!! 👍🏾👊🏾✊🏾🙂💯
You bet man. Glad you enjoyed that part of it too.
For anchoring, I use an old iron window weight rigged to drop off the back of the kayak. The line runs along the side through guides to an in-line cleat.
It's easy to anchor upstream of brush piles. If I want to get closer, I just let out a little more line.
OK, the IA AFS t-shirt is a classic, even if you lost the sleeves, good on ya representing us fish nerds!
Dude love your videos. The fact that every large fish you catch you shake with excitement every time, makes watching the videos so much more enjoyable.
Great video Spencer! I took your advice and put zig zag cletes on our Kayaks a few years back. Definitely a must have imo 💯🤘
Nothing like enjoying myself to some fishing content on my lunch on this beautiful Friday afternoon 😊😂
I like the kayak and sandbar camping because it’s relatable. I watch pig patrol both Josh and Tyler for the same reasons. Not that I’m hating on guys with boats, I have one that runs sometimes lol. This is the kind of fishing most people can go do.
Thanks for the vid, Spencer. You could really see that “pucker” factor on your face when the anchors slipped.
I just filmed my first Kayak Catfishing video and it was probably my favorite day of fishing I’ve had in a long time. I managed a couple channels and a hog smallmouth. First time catching a smallmouth bass on a catfish rig 🤣
Sounds like a cool day on the water man. I've only had that happen once, but it was a giant when it did.
GET BIT !!!! Big kitty catfish !!! You gotta call them in. Here … kitty kitty kitty … here kitty 😆 that’s how ya get um 👍
Great video Captain and Nice Flatty. I think we all have small water Cattin in our blood. Been doing it since 1973. Never looked back
This guy is the fishing goat frfr 🎉 keep the awesome videos coming.
Started canoe fishing small rivers in Illinois 40 years ago. Bought a kayak 9 years ago and have only used the canoe once. Love fishing out of that thing!
They Just paddle so nice. Canoes definitely haul a bunch of stuff though.
@@RiverCertified YEP
Great video and a nice catch! That was a dandy. I thank you for the tutorial. I've never been in a kayak before. It was very interesting for me. You do good work!
God bless all here!
Teacher in the Spring and fall comedian in the summer 😂
Nice setup. Your videos are what got me catfishing out of a kayak. I got an old town top water 120 pdl. Put some yak power blue lights on the inside and white in the rear with nav lights up front. Yak power switch panel, depth finder and a few other upgrades. Its been a fun project. Anchored up for Flatheads or drifting for blues, it's always a good time.
Sounds like one hell of a setup man. Pretty cool to be a part of that
Love the river kayak fishing videos man, keep up the great content. 👍🏼
I'm glad too see you back on the yak Spencer. You're the original kayak guy I started watching....then I found that kayak catfisherman feller😂 I watch and like you both equally
That's pretty cool. Ol Justin is something else haha
You both are hilarious too watch
I was literally just watching your latest kayak catfish video and this popped up!
Hell yeah man!
Awesome, thank ya! Any chance you could do a video on what you pack for shore lunches and camping? Appreciate your time!
I highly recommend the Bonafide SS127. Plenty of room on the deck, plenty of storage, extremely stable and the most comfortable seat for a kayak I’ve had.
They're great kayaks man. Thanks for watching.
They're great kayaks man. Thanks for watching.
Kayak vids are my favorite also Josh
Great video thanks for the trip Spencer
Your kayak videos are awesome brother
The rock river in illinois used to get log jams all over, great fishing, not so much any ore most of the timber is in holes now even better, but tough to see from the bank
The one log leg one handed kayak grab balance act was pure artistry! I use a 3 pound foldable anchor. Sometimes when on a bank like that I just wedge it on the bank. Not in the water. Amazon has several types.
I am looking forward to purchasing my first fishing kayak. Your videos have been an inspiration.
This video couldn't have come at a better time! I'm looking to buying a kayak. I appreciate the info!
@RiverCertified1 all you need is my bank info and credit card numbers right? Oh, can't forget the birthday!
Thank you for another great video. Thanks for showing us your Kayak it was very informative. Sure was a nice Flathead you caught. Stay safe and God bless you and yours.😊😊😊😊
Hey man, not related to the kayak but when you edit your videos and you’re just about to catch one and you add in a little bit of that electric piano then pause it for a few seconds then add another little tone and again building the suspense then the beat drops right when you hook up those are bad ass man 💯 that’s great little edit thing you do for us
I enjoyed the walk through of your kayak!! Tight lines brother!!
That's a nice set up ,Spencer! Any video that contains flathead action is a winner to me.
I appreciate it Bill!
Thanks for the walk through on your kayak, I’ve been tempted on getting one but have been unsure of brand and set ups
I love watching your kyack fishing videos!! Would really like to see a video how you get back upstream from one of your trips when your by yourself. Or do you have someone waiting for you to give you a ride back to your truck?
Can you do a video on cleaning the catfish and making the nuggets? Keep up the kayak videos love fishing in mine.
Huge fan here of the R C channel. I hope to get a chance to fish with you one day, sir! I was hoping you would mention your bank fishing rod holders in a video at some point id like to get the same kind or make them if need be. I've been eyeballing them since i started watching your videos several years ago. As always HOPE YOU CATCH A GIANT! 😉👉
I just bought a kayak myself! Haven't had it in the river yet,put it in a pond just to get my sea legs. Lol
I picked up a NuCanoe Frontier 12 this year cause you’ve inspired me to target flats on small and big rivers. Love the videos.
That's a great kayak for it. Good luck out there dude!
I know how you feel . I can pack my sxs the same way . Wife says I have a place for everything and it’s always just so. I have a Talon so it to has limited space . I really do like your Kayak its one I could get right in and fish ! Nice boat also ,well hey keep it real it’s what makes your channel. Good luck !
I’m glad you made this video I just got one just for catfishing that’s my passion big flatheads but I like catching all of them any information I can get helps because kayaking is new to me
GREAT flatty man!!!! And THANK YOU for taking the time to go over your Kayak, and gear setup, APPRECIATE IT!!!! BEST OF LUCK on the next one, and GOD BLESS ALL!!!!👍😊🙏🙏🙏🙏
Thanks man. Glad ya enjoyed it!
@@RiverCertified 👍😊
Pulling big fish out of brushpiles is absolutely amazing! Your videos doing that are insane, love it.
Cool kayak tips, the coolers fit perfectly, do you have a little anchor for it?
It's a great way to get the heart pumping. It's a totally different experience. I have an anchor but don't use it in current. The kayak sways a lot and feels less stable.
love when you fish brushpiles i am going to try it one day even if im doing it from bank
Catfish definitely like timber.
Videos like this, you make are top notch brother. You're a great teacher, more like professor really 🎉🎉.
Awesome job and I'm with Josh these videos are really cool to me.
Thanks man. It's a fun way to catch a fish for sure.
Awesome setup man and great flattie. I’m the same way when it comes to clutter I can’t stand it. Personally love your kayak sandbar camping videos the best. Keep up the good work man!
I love my YAK bro just an awesome way to catch big fish love the content bro keep slaying em
Nothing wrong going back to your roots in a kayak. Is that the same creek you lost the big one nice 🐟🇱🇷
Oh I love it. It's nice to have some water in the creeks for the fish to get in them for once. Been about 5 years. Different creek in this video.
Berkley makes those brush grippers, I've used them for over 40 years and up to a 21 foot bay boat in current.
This just looks fun man
Great video Spencer, totally enjoyed watching.,💯💯👍👍
Good video Spenc! Love the set up
Appreciate it man! Glad ya enjoyed that part too!
Cool thanks 😊
Dude you could find so many native American artifacts in those washed out banks!!
Dude you make the best videos
Kayak content is my favorite since its what i do. Kinda miss the jet boat stuff.
I love both of them. I might get another jet down the road. I miss the freedom of it. We will see what I can wrangle up
Great video and great information.. looking forward to seeing more videos.. 👍🏽👍🏽
Awesome, thank you!
Ascend 12t is great if you are big and/or like to pack alot with you. I'm 250 and will have mine loaded to max capacity and the stability is amazing.
The ascends are tough to beat for the money man. They got a kayak for everyone
Great video man awesome fish the car alarm going off was a great touch to the video keep it up and keep those lines tight my friend
It legit scared the crap outta me haha. Glad ya enjoyed the video.
Hey Spencer I have a question. First off I love your videos! Keep em coming! I use all bait caster round reels for catfishing and use mono. And I have all Zebco 33’s for bait and pan fishing. I’ve never really used spinning reel but got a brand new spinning rod gave to me and just ordered a spinning reel for it. What’s better braid or mono for a light spinning rig? Thanks! 🙏🏼 🎣
That set up is perfect for you. Simple and easy to handle but I just can’t do it with so little stuff 😂
Less is more for most things ( says the guy with a boat that has 15k in electronics)😆
@@RiverCertified 😂 you got the best of both worlds where I tried to combine them and end up with a Frankenstein creation 😂
Awesome video
And - he- SCORES!!! Nice flathead!! Don't mess with storms/lightning on water, not worth it. As always, kayak information is worth it's weight in gold to newbies and veterans alike!! Thanks again!!!
I try not to. They definitely pop up at times and I hate it when they do. Glad you enjoyed it!
Went for the kitty cruise ha ha love it 👍
Solid fish man!
Thanks man!
Thanks for sharing. Kayaks csn really open some water where boats can’t go
I upgraded to the Perception Outlaw 11.5. It's amazing and inexpensive compared to the other Cadillac kayaks. So stable. Actually got it on Amazon
@RiverCertified1 whoa, whoa, whoa, only your Mom calls me champ, and only in bed
I'm glad we bought you a good kayak not a cheap one. 😊
It's treated me pretty dang good. Thanks for watching!
How you been Spence? Miss these old backwater videos!
Pretty good man. Glad ya enjoy em.
Great Video
Glad you enjoyed it
Awesome video. Setting the car alarm off was classic!
Glad ya got a kick outta that haha.
Love seeing you bring them big ugly s out of the thick of it. I fish log jams as well for flatty s. If your not getting hung up you probably not in the right spot.
Loved the video man
I'm glad ya did man. I appreciate the support a ton.
Bite is on right now !
12:30 I have a little tip, for that. When they bite, give just a little bit of pressure to the side, and wait a few seconds. It should make them pull away from the pressure, and of you follow them, just a smidge, they should turn enough to slide the hook over.
I appreciate that man. We will see if I remember that when I get a bite. No promises. I get pretty excited haha
@@RiverCertified 🤣😂🤣
It's always hard to remember what you're SUPPOSED to do. 😂🤣
Lets go some more fishing
Hello Spencer, I have a small boat. Not a kayak, but pretty darn close. It’s a 1961 dura craft aluminum John boat, 36” x 14’. The kicker is that it’s tight as a drum in really great shape, came with a trailer, the original and again in really great shape. $450 bucks and it’s mine. Oh, and it came with a little 12 volt trolling motor also pretty darn old. Anyway, we have a small flooded timber lake and it’s said to have some pretty good sized big uglies and blues. I haven’t had it in the water except to test it out. I’m hoping that I can set it up similar to a kayak, your opinion?
Whoop!
There it go!
Keep em coming, Chael.
Yessir. I'm gonna do my best.
Hello Spencer good too see ya my friend good luck
Super sweet
Bud you totally need a small 12 foot flat bottom boat with a mud motor on it for those small creeks.
Wow!! That is definitely the coolest way to fish. Big, ugly, and beautiful. Absolutely!!!
Absolutely. Glad you enjoyed it!
Nice!
Thanks!
You need an old town autopilot
Good video bro the flatheads are on fire down below the red rock dam on swim bates right now…getum why you can . No big wipers yet
Been meaning to get down there for a while. That might be the motivation I needed to make a drive. Thanks man.
Fun Fact: I had never eaten Franks Red Hot hot sauce before I watched my first Spencer Certified video. Now Franks is all I buy.
That makes my day. He'll yeah man.
I love kayak fishing! The only negative thing about a kayak is the wind. I live in Nebraska where it is always windy, same as Iowa though. How do you deal with the wind when kayak fishing?😊
Your looking BUFF with them cut off sleeves 💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪
😆😆😆very debatable. Hopefully someday.
That's one thing I found or have learned, I guess, but using livebait, bluegills and such, in waters where there's flatheads and channels, but a lot of times the daggone channels will grab a bait, crush it and spit it right back out, even dadgum bullheads, heck even their own kind too, their not too picky or whatever when it comes to that. But most of the times the bigger channels you can catch, usually. I don't know where you're fishing at but some of the waters I've fished around here, central KY, will hold channels from 10 to 17-18 lbs, I don't mind the channels when they get that size, pretty good fight too, on any outfit. Anyways, good deal bud, as always! Haha, I see your getting my kind of tan, farmers tan, well generally when I get tanned that's what it is.
A small flat bottom John boat with either a trolling motor or a small 4hp outboard would be good for that also
I've thought about that. The problem is getting it into the water. Not many ramps.

Just to save anyone else Crescent Shoalie is $1599.00 at the moment. its a 12' (11'10" actual) and I think this is "Moon Rock" color.

I think "voracious" was the word you were looking for. Nice video as always. Did you do much kayaking when you were in FL? I want to kayak the saltwater river near me and I see others do it, but not being from here, I keep thinking a dolphin or manatee will bump into me by accident and I can't get past it lol
Have you been hitting spillways or anything for bait fish? I miss those videos.
Here's a half of tank of gas 😂
Thanks for the video sir
Dude you're too kind. I appreciate the hell outta that. Definitely gonna explore some new water now. Thanks a ton man!
Brush Grippers used to be made by Blakemore. You can get 'em on the cheap these days if they're made from Chineseium...
Yessir. I remember seeing the originals in catfish connection
Are those stealth rod holders? If so, did you cut the cam straps on em?
I use Stealth rod holders on my Cresent Ultralite, love em...So easy to grab a rod and kept my rods secure on 2 flips. I original got em to keep from scaring up my jdm bait casters as the stealth holders hold em without any wiggling. as i found out pretty good overall rod holder as well.
