Yep, I just had this same issue happen to me (yesterday) in my 2014 GMC Denali 2500HD - Duramax w/ Allison. After researching for a few hours all signs pointed to Dan’s Diesel Performance TCM as the cheapest and fastest fix. I had a hard time pulling the trigger on a $675 part with $93 overnight shipping so I called them up and spoke with Dan. I ran through my issues and what I had done to test and he was extremely helpful and reassuring. I had the part next day (today) by 11AM and had it installed by 11:05AM.
It royally sucks to have the problem but this is definitely the best approach and in the long run likely saved me $300-500. Not to mention if I had taken to a shop i would have been without my pickup for at least 3-5 days.
Install is super easy by the way...no tools required for my pickup.

Another satisfied customer!. I, like the author of this youtube had weird issues with my Allison transmission of my 2013 Chev Duramax. Operating in what appears to be "limp" mode at first, then after sitting for the night, no pull on the trans. Sending codes such as traction control, stabiltrack. After watching this broadcast and others similar, I called Dan's Diesel. This was yesterday at 2:30 Central time, order it from Dan, had it overnight shipped for additional 77 bucks, received it at 10am next morning, swaped out, (2 minute ordeal.....plug and play) , cranked truck and whamohoo, trucks runs and shifts like a spotted ass ape. Mechanic quoted $1200 repair plus 150 wrecker bill. This is no B.S. Works and it is easy. Now I will spend the 400 or so on Budweiser.

WOW, you limped it home, and no prob bro glad to help.
Look up Circuit Board module they do a great job. Repairing them took me on a roll over a week to get it back.
Trued to unplug mine and i plugged it back in and now it wont go into reverse and gear indicator wont light of and all dash lights are on any ideas
Is this a common problem on 1500 2007 Silverado ... just got told today my tcm failure and the pressure silonids failed ..
Looks like this TCM is not available any longer. My truck died a couple weeks ago. I found a place that will rebuild it for about $1,200. I wish I could have gotten it from Dan's for $600-$700. They now have it listed at $5,000, but not in stock.
I have a 09, 2500HD with the same code U0101. I fell into a not so big of a hole with my right tire and then stopped at a gas station to inspect it. After I left gas station, my truck went on "limp mode", meaning my truck bare accelerated as much as I was pressing down on the gas pedal. Drove it like that a few blocks till I grabbed a little down hill road and at 28 MPH I was able to accelerate as normal but when I came to a stop and tried to accelerate again, truck went back to "limp mode". Finally got it towed.
Next morning, turned truck on and no codes where showing on dash so decided to take it for a ride and drove just fine for a few miles till it went back to limp mode. Disconected TCM for about 15 - 20 minutes and plugged back in and truck drove fine again. Went back home but just before I arrived, it went back to limp mode.
How can I make sure I have a bad TCM? I'm thinking I may have a bad ground ir something. I checked out pins and they are all in good shape. Cleaned everything off with electronic cleaner to make sure my problem was not due to dirty connections.

Did it send ur stabili Trac and traction control system to go off

My truck is Rock Solid no issues whatsoever with transmission or anything of the sort please contact Dan's diesel.
My TCM went out man exactly same way I am all stock motor no tunes etc with 35 inch tires will this work I am about to order my shop can’t tune so I figured this might be better 500 bucks and 100 to flash from dealer it seams like a deal to me also I tow every day and before i noticed it slipping in gear last couple weeks before Total Failure of TCM
Ordered from Dans they are great folks he took care of me on Saturday when they were closed and personally ran it to ups store it’s on its way

Awsome my truck is tuned and deleted and that range shift scared the daylights out of me the other day and a surgeing idle

No follow up Video... This was the "fixed problem solved" video so to speak...Haven't had any related issues since.
I will contact them i live an hour from dans diesel mabe i can get lucky and pick it up from them and flashed

Did your transmission downshift a little hard at first? How long before it “relearns “ the new TCM?
Bryan Voltz I believe it's 500 to 1000 miles to relearn or an entire tank of fuel...Yes I think it did down shift more firm than usual after the installation of the new TCM but it was learning at the time. However, I do use the exhaust brake and tow haul mode all the time.

Bryan Voltz Awesome...I think I'm getting better mpg as well especially on the highway it's really weird. I try to stay out of it as much as possible but she does pull a lot better at WOT though.
I have a 2011 hd duramax, threw 4 codes, TCM took a shit, was expensive. But worth it. I owned it now for 5 years and its the 1st time something major has happened

Did you fuel mileage change
Shift points changed... Fuel mileage will change when you stay out of the right skinny pedal... But the new TCM tuning will get you into the 6th gear more often which will get your gas mileage higher-than-normal.

Open the hood it's located on the driver's side of the fan shroud...it's attached on there like the placement of the module was an afterthought for GM.
I swear mine looks different but it is in the spot everyone says it is and it has 2 push pins but there is no number starting with a BK
Thanks for the fast reply, I found it and replaced it. Snap on scanner will help you relearn it if you have access to a scanner
