The eighties were my late teens and twenties. Such a wonderful time to be young. America was in great shape and Americans were very happy. The metal and concerts of the day were true events to experience. They will never ever be the same or even come close. I remember them like they were yesterday, I miss them like they were a 1,000 years ago. God-bless the eighties nation. God's favorite decade.
@metalhead 1963 cannot agree with you more because I was an “84” graduate and without a shadow of a doubt the “1980’s was the most tranquil and patriotic decade🇺🇸👍 ( What State is Dobson HS located? ) also General Hospital 🏥🚑& Mtv📺rocked the 80’s 😂….who can forget The WHO farewell Tour from “82”?🎸lol
@@phillyghost1256 Uhh the murder and violent crime rates in the 70s through the mid 90s were astronomically higher than the 2010s and 2020s The all time high US murder rate peaked in 1991 It was FAR more dangerous during your hs years Every medium to large US city in the 80s had a higher murder rate than a literal warzone in Ulster for the same time period. Lots of boomers led sheltered lives, methinks
This is pure gold!! The kids are proud of their high school and their community. This footage is epic and really captures the spirit of the times. It reminds me so much of my 80s high school experience in Maryland.
I graduated Ft.Lauderdale High in 86. I found that all of us back then were all the same. Making up our own fun. No cell phones,no computers. I had Spring Break on Ft.Lauderdale Beach each year. What a time to grow up in.
ha! Cool. I’m a 90s kid/early-mid 2000s teen though I think fondly of the 80s and the universal nostalgia it has upon the world. John Holmberg (Holmberg’s Morning Sickness on 97.9 in Phx, AZ) said he went to Dobson High.
Unfortunately, no. The company that produced it and sold the video had a limited amount of time for the graduation so they edited it to prioritize students who bought copies and a few others at random. Unfortunately, VCRs were new enough at the time that many did not foresee that they would own one in the future so the sales were fairly low. I worked with them on the 1985 version the following year and had copies of the finished versions of both. Since they are no longer in business I wanted to share what I had for those who hadn't bought a copy back in the day.
Absolutely. The music ,cars, clothes, technology, everything was weird in that time .I was a teenager in the early 80s and knew stuff wasn't right back then .90s was definitely more in tune

could not have been said better. ive often hoped that if the world ever resets, the 80s could be lived again, and the 80s music HAS to be saved 😥

I’m class of 1994, but man the 80s were so cool
Sports were very highly prioritized back then. People are so wonderful slim. No smartphones, almost no fast food.

It's weird how the 80s are looking more like the 70s now. So much time has past.
Dobson Class of 87!!!
Opening girls basketball sequence, you could smell the hair burning.
Crazy to think all these kids are in their mid to late 50's now.
I've dressed the same then and now. Jeans, black t-shirt, boots... Blue chambray shirt.
I was 4 in 84 😂
That principal has a Boston North Shore accent.
Do you have access to the entire graduation ceremony instead of the one here that cuts out all the students with middle start last names?

@@GregoryArdreyPhD thank you so much for the response. My last name starts with an L. It was just a surprise to see it at all.
@@ginamarielogrande4651so did you see yourself at any point in the video?
no obese people
And not a cell phone in sight
We were active and made horribly mean "fun" of fat people and gay people....
Guessing this high school is Hispanic now.
Wasn't even born
90s fashion was much bettef than 80s.
Early and midi 80s are very ugly fashion !!!!!

You’re crazy! 80’s are making a comeback the same way 70’s did in the late 90’s/early 00’s when I was a teen.
Girls tried to look pretty in the 80s, in the 90s they tried to look like homeless 5 year old boys
