I wish I could only paint with blues and greens I love them so much. My fav green is an olive green and I love Prussian blue. But I never met a blue I didn’t like! Haha. Thanks for this video. The stamps are adorable. Fingers crossed! PS the day noted for the winner is Feb 9th which is today - the same day this video dropped. Hmm maybe you meant the 19th?
Emma!! You are so sweet! Thank you so much for being the first to give the watercolor community a look at my stamps:) And now I need to finally get my Michael Harding haul going because ummm they are gorgeous!!❤
Hey @Emma a couple of stamping hints- tap the stamp on the pad rather than pressing and squishing. Store your ink pad face down so ink will be at the top of the pad. Happy stamping & swatching!
Lapis lazuli is the gemstone the paint is made from. It is what was eventually replaced by pb29 ultramarine blue, which is synthetic and easier to make and use. Lapis lazuli is usually harder to rewet and less intense. It’s the blue in historical paintings…
And it is harder and harder to find in a good quality. The best used to come from Afgahanistan and if I remember corectly Egypt , that is why it is caled Ultra Marine - from over the ocean/sea .
Put the stamp down on table take the ink pad and dab the ink onto the stamp. When you put stamp on paper hold for a few seconds so the ink has time to transfer to the paper, be careful that you don't move the stamp around. You got this !
Thanks so much for all of your tutorials Emma. I have been painting for 2 years and have learned a lot from you. I also watch Kristy and appreciate the positive comments and encouragement form both of you. I am loving the moss green for florals.
Awesome colors! I love the quinacridone gold; and the stamps are an awesome idea to kick it up a notch! Unsurprising for Kristy Rice though... I have already followed you both actually because you have a way of teaching that just speaks to me!!!
Thank you, Emma, for swatching the Michael Harding paints. Hookers Green has been my favorite since I started painting many years ago. I've subscribed to your channel, and Kristy's, for a few years and I love watching you both paint and I learn so much! And Kristy's new stamps are to die for!
The stamp set is so adorable! I love using my stamps in a myriad of ways to incorporate into my Junk Journals and I’ve recently discovered my love watercolors. So the stamp set would be perfect…gotta have it! 😊Oh and a tip for when you are inking up the stamps, it’s best to take the ink to the stamp and apply in and up & down motion. You get better coverage that way. Also, when stamping apply even pressure on the back of the block, give it a few seconds before you lift it up. Hope that helps ☺️Thanks for sharing 😊❤
I’m going to order two sets on Friday. One for myself and one for a friend. Can’t wait to get started with these. They will be so much fun. And thanks for showing how to remove the stamps and ink them. By the war, I watched your video twice , a few weeks apart.
I love Kristy's channel. I'm so glad she's been doing live demos and paint alongside lately. It's a great way to start the year! Her stamp set looks so cute and looks like a great way to break from the 'norm' of just doing squares or rectangles. My favorite paint color is probably Phthalo Turquoise. When you held up the brochure all those turquoises and teals were yelling my name! 🩵
I’m sure many people already stated to you Emma, but just in case, definitely keep your ink pad on your table, and press your block onto your stamp. OR, place your stamp on the block, on your table (stamping side face up) and take your ink pad and hold the ink pad around the edges, and press the pad on top of your stamp. Most ink pads “release ink” by the pressing aka “pouncing” motion of up and down tapping it onto your stamp. Rubbing it around when it’s not brand new pad, will eventually not release your ink fully from along of ink pad, and also not start to destroy the fiber of the pad itself. I’m SO thrilled to have this stamp swatching set. I’ve looked for literally 6 years or more for a fun thing to make swatching fun and look fun. Just my personality to help me do what feels like a “chore” or mundane after so many things to always swatch. Heehee🤭 I get mine tomorrow and cannot wait. Thank you for sharing this swatch set. I love seeing all the creative ways people can use them.🙏🏻☺️
I love all the blues and greens as well. Thanks for the video. So glad I found your Channel and Kristy's channel. I am quickly becoming a water color addict !!
Those are really, really cute! Great idea Kristy! Emma….baby wipes are great for cleaning your stamps. I always keep a package of baby wipes with my stamps….so they are handy when you want to clean them.
Dear Emma, the beautiful lapiz lazuli is literally created from a semi precious stone. It was one of the most expensive pigments used by the masters and immortalized by Vermeer with his girl with the pearl earring. I hope you have the opportunity to learn more about art history. Particularly, colors are fascinating, especially those that were scarce, foreign and difficult to obtain in the past. Royal purple has a very interesting history where even executions took place by those who wore it while not being royalty. If you have the chance read more about the history of colors. Simply amazing! It will give you a deeper appreciation and understanding of how much it took for us to be able to enjoy the magnificent paints we use today. All my best and thank you for sharing your talent with us! 😊
Oh wow that’s such a great swatching set of stamps from Kristy! They do look so cute use. Thanks for sharing this wonderful review of the Stamping Set & Michael Harding watercolors. Thanks for sharing this wonderful chance for the giveaway too!
I love watching both you and Kristi-I’ve learned so much about watercoloring as I am new to the medium. I’ve been a scrapbooker for years. I really like the Imperial purple and the wild sky blue, but all them are really gorgeous colors.
Green will ALWAYS be my favorite color. I lean towards the moss green. The stamp set is also amazing. Wish it was available now! Thanks for this review.
Lapiz lazuli is a rare, expensive pigment, mainly found in Afghanistan. Great idea for videos is to start a 'History of pigment/colour series' so we can all learn together! The Kristy stamps are genius! So cute. 👏🏼
Very new to watercoloring. I don't really have a favorite color. I'm just painting my first year through each holiday season. It's so relaxing. Love my new hobby.
These stamps are so fun looking!!! I love to swatch my paint colors so this stamp set is a must! My favorite colors are definitely the pinks and reds. Can’t wait to order my set!
Love this review!…..favorite color….Mauve! I started back with Watercolor during covid after about a 25 year mixed media artistic break. It has been so wonderful to catchup with an “old friend” and enjoy the magic of watercolor. Thanks to you Emma and Kristy’s videos for expanding my understanding and use of watercolors. 😊
I just bought a set of stamps similar to these because I want to make new swatch books for my watercolor paints. I was so disappointed when they arrived because they were way way too small. So glad I came across your video. I’m hoping to get a chance to buy them when they become available. Thanks for sharing!
This was fun. I used to stamp all the time but now paint more. Altho watching this and seeing how Kristi's stamp set marries the two I might get out the ink again. I am subscribed to both your channels and love how authentic you both are!
Ohh la la! A best ever 2 for 1 video! The lapis blue is lovely!! And can not wait to have the stamps be available 🎉 thanks to both of you and Michael Harding for sharing! 🎨🖌️
This was so much fun to watch. You and Kristy can always be counted on to add a little positivity to any day. I am a sucker for most any blue but especially Prussian Blue.
This was such a fun video. I had just seen Kristy’s video where she mentioned them. So fun! I love Lapis Lazuli. It’s also a beautiful gemstone-blue with some gold veining. I think I read that Cleopatra would grind it up to use as eyeshadow. ❤
Alarm went off, checked my phone! Covers flew!! Coffee, Emma, Kristy stamps and Michael Harding watercolors! Yes please!!! Your excitement was contagious! Love these STAMPS! THANKYOU FOR THE JUMP START!!!
Love that you are showing yourself trying new things for the first time! Helps people who are beginners at tgis stuff. Little tip: the problem with your first stamp was probably not too much ink, but probably wiggly the stamp too much as you stamped it. Thanks for sharing about both the stamp set and the paint.
It was also too much ink, and pressing too hard on the stamp pad. You don't want to press ink into the open spaces of the stamp. Just tap tap tap until it is fully inked, and then press firmly, but not too hard into the paper.
I can't wait for these stamps to come out! I'm so unorganized when it comes to swatching, these will make it so much easier. That lapis lazuli is really pretty, I've got some MH on order, I hope they get here this weekend.
Thanks for sharing your opinions on these paints and the swatching stamp set. All of the professional art and pigment information I have learned over the years has been primarily from Lindsay at The Frugal Crafter here on TH-cam. She’s a professional artist and art teacher. She’s a wealth of information.
I love the paints and the stamps!! I had never stamped before either, so thank you for the demo. I really appreciate that! I have been a subscriber to both of you for a very long time and can’t tell you how much I appreciate all the videos you put up and how much I’ve learned. Thank you thank you!!❤
2 of my favorite artists!! I follow and love you both! My favorite colour was actually that purple you mixed up! And those stamps look so fun to play with!
I love all of these colors! But my 2favs are Moss Green & Phthalo blue rs. I always admire how honest and realistic your videos are. It's refreshing to watch you trying new things and gives so much inspiration in doing so! Thank you for introducing Kristy Rice's channel and collection. So many cute items in her shop too.
Lovely video. Makes me excited about swatching colors. My favorite color, whatever surprises me on paper for the day. That usually happens in the blue range.
So glad to see you swatching the MH paints! Thought I absolutely needed the Lapis Lazuli but it is so expensive and now I feel like the Rose Madder is the one I must have instead! Definitely need Kristy's swatching stamps, too!
Love those stamps...they are so cute! Just a little tip for cleaning stamps...I use baby water wipes to clean my stamps...less mess and they dry quicker.
Love love love love love love these new stamps. I've been watching Christy talk about them and can't wait. My favorite color is quinacridone gold. It's just so versatile.
Thank you for showing how to set up and use the stamps. I only know how to use the old school ones. I would have been asking the same questions as you! My favorite color was the lapis lazuli
Oh MY It is easy to see why she sent you a set of stamps! now everyone who watched this will want a set and if they hurry they can get a discount for them too! Your very nice to feature these stamps! They do look like fun!! Available April 15th on Amazon US. !
Love the video! The stamps are such a creative way to swatch. Have been enjoying the paint reviews these past few videos. Favorite color from Michael Harding was the quinacridone rose watercolor. 😊
What fun! I love Kristy's products and have many of them in my creative arsenal. She is actually the artist that inspired me to try watercolors and I jumped head first into that rabbit hole ... and then I discovered your channel and have been inspired even more!!! My favorite color is the Hookers Green ... LOVE all shades of green! Thank you for sharing your talents with us!!!
Hi Emma! This was so much fun to watch. I loved both paint sets. The stamps from Kristy are awesome. I’ve been swatching on circles charts that I draw. Can’t wait to theses fun stamps and paints 💕
I love your enthusiasm for the stamps and the paints you swatched today! For me, since I am allergic to spandex, and rubber based materials, rubber stamping has been out of the question! I saw one of Kristy's videos last week, which mentioned these new stamps of hers. I immediately noticed that the look like they could be made of silicon! With the acrylic stamp base, I thought it would be more user friendly for those of us who are sensitive to rubber, etc... I honestly love the idea too! I love it when paint sets come with a way to swatch the colors, but I have noticed that you really cannot count on that being the case on all. This may be a game changer for me and others like me! Yay! 😁🥰😍 I am almost 62, and learning to paint with watercolours! I love the intuitive abstract techniques I have seen on TH-cam. I am learning from you, Kristy and so many great artists. Thank you for posting regularly, I have subscribed to many artists, I always prefer to watch someone who is dedicated to creating on a fairly regular basis. Blessings!!
those are adorable! my favorite color from what you swatched is that lapis lazuli i think! my favorite color of all time is probably a cobalt turquoise/sea green like color : )
Thank you Emma. Enjoyed this. Loved your mixing at the end too. I'm just getting into this brand and am enjoying them. I love alot of other brands too. They all seem to have their own strengths and personality. I love variety. Karen from Canada ☺☺💖💖
Those are gorgeous paints, Emma, and Kristy's stamps look like a lot of fun. I've been subbed to both of you for a long time. My favorite paint color is pink, today. My favorite color changes with my mood, and the day, lol. I love all the colors. Out of the paint that you swatched, I also really love the Rose Madder; such a pretty color.
Emma, i love this video! I don't know why, and my favorite color generally is blue, but in watercolor though, I love new gamboge. It's just relevant to any style or pallet.
I can not WAIT for the swatching stamps to become available! They are so adorable! Thank you for sharing! A little info on lapis lazuli. The pigment comes from the crushed gemstone and back during the Renaissance it was more valuable than gold. It was frequently used to paint the Virgin Mary’s robes. It was also found on King Tut’s sarcophagus and is thought to have been used as Cleopatra’s eyeshadow. Vermeer used it a lot in his work and is the color of the turban in the Girl with a Pearl Earring. Michelangelo used it in the sky of the “Last Judgement” fresco in the Sistine Chapel. Eventually, I believe, it became ultramarine?
These swatching stamps are so fun!! Lapis lazuli might be my fave! I recently started watercolor and both your videos and Kristy's have taught me so much!
This was such a great video, Emma❣️ Love both sets you received and the stamp set would just be a fantastic addition to my paint accessories (a.k.a. Toys!) 😊 My favorite from your swatches today, is Hookers Green! It's luscious ❣️
It was so great to see how excited you were! I absolutely love the stamp idea, she's very talented and I am definitely getting them as well as his paints. Thank you Emma. 😊
Omg that stamping set is perfect. I have other stamps that I use for watercolor, so that is right in my wheelhouse. I love metallic watercolors and metallic silver is my favorite. 😊
Quin. rose is absolutely stunning, it’s jumping off the page. Having said that, they’re all very beautiful. Already was subscribed to Kristy’s channel. Just adore her, and those stamps are so creative and cute. Way to go Kristy👍🏻👍🏻 - Love from Mississauga.
I totally agree! The stamps are ADORABLE! I’ve actually been looking for something like that for awhile. The lapis color could be my favorite! I’ve never met a blue/purple I haven’t fallen in love with!

@kristyRice hi Kristy where can I find the stamp set? I looked in your shop on your website and didn’t find it. It’s so cute! And what a great idea!
@@pattybocciarelli6936
Hi! I know they're so cute! Emma said Kristy will Launch at the end of March or early April. 🌸
Thank you for sharing these stamps with Emma, Kristy! Love them! Great products you produce! Can hardly wait!😁
@KristyRice so glad to see your stamps in Emma’s hands! Fun!!

Exactly how to get a good stamp image!!! 🏆
Is a baby wipe the easiest way to clean them, or do you have another suggestion? TY
@@patriciacarlson4206 i use wet wipes, seems to work.
Love Kristy Rice and these stamps. Ive been stamping for 40 years and enjoyed watching you stamp for the first time. Thanks for all you do.

I like the look of the stamps and that they would make swatching easy! I enjoy Emma’s and Kristy’s videos and commentary!

The Quin. Rose is awesome! Love the dark green you mixed too.
Lapis luzuli is a precious stone. It’s beautiful. 😊
Omg I love this stamp set. What a great idea! Kristy Rice always gives us some things others haven't thought of that artist needs
How fun! Just love this so much. ❤I’m loving the greens!
These swatching stamps are absolutely brilliant! So fun!!!
I love Kristy's channel. I'm so glad she's been doing live demos and paint alongside lately. It's a great way to start the year! Her stamp set looks so cute and looks like a great way to break from the 'norm' of just doing squares or rectangles.

those are adorable! my favorite color from what you swatched is that lapis lazuli i think! my favorite color of all time is probably a cobalt turquoise/sea green like color : )
Great video! You are such an inspiration. I love Daniel Smith Indanthrone Blue and I am a long time subscriber to both your and Kristi's channels.
Always love watching you swatch paints. These stamps from Kristi Rice just add to the fun.
Emma, i love this video! I don't know why, and my favorite color generally is blue, but in watercolor though, I love new gamboge. It's just relevant to any style or pallet.
What fun stamps! Love the blues that you swatched. I just love almost all blues.
Thank you for sharing..... I love both the blues particularly the lapis. The stamps look very fun.
Toys!) 😊
My favorite from your swatches today, is Hookers Green! It's luscious ❣️
It was so great to see how excited you were! I absolutely love the stamp idea, she's very talented and I am definitely getting them as well as his paints. Thank you Emma. 😊
Hello Emma, Love Kristy, watch her all the time We are working on my control. Love her stamps. They are adorable 🥰. I received my 2nd box a day ago 😊
love the moss green and the rose madder…stunning
Omg that stamping set is perfect. I have other stamps that I use for watercolor, so that is right in my wheelhouse. I love metallic watercolors and metallic silver is my favorite. 😊
Quin. rose is absolutely stunning, it’s jumping off the page. Having said that, they’re all very beautiful. Already was subscribed to Kristy’s channel. Just adore her, and those stamps are so creative and cute. Way to go Kristy👍🏻👍🏻 - Love from Mississauga.
Enjoyed!!! Much ❤ Thank You
I love the way you both share - I have learned so much from you! All the colors look yummy, but I am especially drawn to the Lapis Lazuli 😊
I totally agree! The stamps are ADORABLE! I’ve actually been looking for something like that for awhile. The lapis color could be my favorite! I’ve never met a blue/purple I haven’t fallen in love with!
