This took me back to my first ever watercolour class and I used paynes grey. Remember being terrified to go as dark as the tutor was saying but I did. Anyway my hubby hung it in his office as he liked it and was offered £500!! Was very chuffed 😀 😊 great reminder of a one colour painting and the inspiration as always emma ❤
Emma, I am a very new beginner!!!!! I have painted acrylics before, but I am in love with the look of watercolors. There are so many watercolor artists on You Tube and they have really amazed me. However, you are a really good teacher. I am a retired elem. teacher, so I appreciate someone who has the ability to explain something so well. You are very talented and I enjoy learning from you. Thank you for sharing that talent.
Thank you, Emma for your dedication to uploading for us! It means so much to have a constant source of inspiration on this art journey. So many youtubers who build their brand on here, suddenly give up and don't make videos anymore unless it's behind a pay wall which is super frustrating. I understand everyone has a right to make a living that works for them, but it's amazing when these kinds of tips and tutorials are available to those of us who can't spend the extra money at the moment. THANK YOU!
I haven't picked up my paint brush in almost two years! And I have been invited to a paint party next week. So this is a PERFECT video of something I can do without embarrassing myself!
Saw this and wrote it down, just had the time to watch it. Hope to try it soon. This could work w grey/black, maybe purple. What other subjects would work w/ only 1 color?
Hi Emma, I have just completed this picture. I did it twice because I wasn't happy with the first one. So I did it again immediately and the second one was much better. It was a good practice. Thank you.
This was so much fun! I have done it twice ... 2nd time I was very pleased with my result ... I think the first go loosened me up a bit :). I want to try some animals: deer, bear, owl ... with 1 color. Maybe black or brown. I learned quite a lot focused on texture and depth vs what color. Your brush guidance was excellent. Thank you for this!
Wonderful lesson in using less to create more! I’m excited to start this process with a different color! Which will it be? Thanks , Karen Dirmish Elmhurst Ill🙋♀️
Emma this is beautiful!! I need to do this. I'm so afraid of wasting paper though. I have to waste paper to learn. I just bought some Hahnemuhle paper. I'm going to try this on a piece of this paper. When I use cheap paper it never turns out the same. I have good paints DS so this should turn out great!! Thank you for the inspiration! 😊 JK FLORIDA
Emma I'm just wondering if the shadow on the edge of the lake is on the wrong side and should be showing in the water as the sun appears to be coming from the left. Just a thought.
This is the type of teaching that makes me love your channel.

Great idea to do a one-colour landscape! And those dry brush flecks... simple and superb.

Beautiful concept! Thank you. But why are the trees in the front so tiny relative to the trees in the background? Nice greetings
Thank you!
Beautiful. ❤❤
Which blue did you use , as I’ve got those paints too ?
Morning Emma. Love this thank you
Very cool 😎 👍
Emma I'm just wondering if the shadow on the edge of the lake is on the wrong side and should be showing in the water as the sun appears to be coming from the left. Just a thought.
Question, what palette did you use in this video? Love the colours 😊
She said Meiliang Watercolor pallet 😊
@@crystalzanic5056 thank you must have missed that.
so nice 😍❤
Use toothpaste on your mixing well ..let set for 5 minutes then buff off.. keep paint from bending up...
I’m in the UK and have tried a couple of different tapes but they always rip my paper. What brand have others found that worked?
I use scotch magic tape and find it doesn't tear the paper as long as you remove it gently and not too fast. hope you can try that out x
@@amandastratton8242 Thankyou for that I will give it a go 🤞
❤
Nice painting, but is that really indigo? It doesn’t look like my indigo paint at all.
