- Hello, Friends here I am sharing my harrier clutch burn problem that I faced during one of my family trips. I went to Service center and experience was really good but was not so with TATA RSA.
Please watch full and let me know if you have any such experience and how TATA roadside assistance reacted to your situation and hows service center guys reacted.

In my family ,we are the owner of 3 car ,one is ecosport,one is scross and one is nexon,(see my Chanel)but if we are going to talk about performance of service center then Tata service center performance is far better than Ford and maruti.It is honest experience.
It is not the Tata has improved their service but there is some issue with their clutch. I think it is better to start using other car until they resolve this clutch issues in harrier and safari

I am currently facing the same issue. I have Tata Harrier 2019 model. It has been 2.2 yrs since we bought it and have driven 16200km. Even my clutch plate is burnt. Though the cost of replacing the clutch plate as quoted by dealership is 36000rs. I had horrible experience with Tata RSA. Tata RSA told that tow truck will arrive at 11AM but it arrived at 4PM. And this is when the car was in main city (Lucknow). The service experience was equally horrible. I have bought the car from SRM Motors and have done all the service from same dealership(SRM Motors Lucknow). Recently i did a complete full service after 15000km in October where they said the car does not have any issue and then just one months after they are saying that the clutch plate is gone and charging 36000rs. Before this the car had two cases of separate breakdowns. One was related to battery acid issue and other related to some pipe failure. I don’t recommend this car at all. The service is really horrible and they are charging any amount they want. Also I complained tata motors regarding the dealership but even tata motors does not call back with any update or feedback. THEY JUST SIMPLY DON’T CARE ABOUT YOU. I am regretting buy this car would advice you to not buy this and go for any other option. Because the service and support is really pathetic.

l Think this issue is more related to driving habbits. Half clutch with high acceleration may result in clutch plate burning nothing specific to Tata Motors or Harrier.Kindly correct me if I am not wrong
You are partialy correct. Its not about customer driving habbits but about your engine and clutch kit assembly.
And yes its can happen with any car manufacturer

My Suzuki Honda Toyota Hyundai.....these cars never had any issues for many years.... very happy with all....my Alto completed 14years

@@banerjeesaheb so many harrier owners complain about clutch problem and a single city owner. Tata’s quality control is very bad. You got lucky and got a good piece but not all Tata cars are same. This clutch problem happened with my friend too!
Sparkplug , Tyres , Clutch plate are 100% Wear and tearable products ............ But RSA ko thoda accha improvement dikhana chahiye tha ......... Otherwise in Pune 4 Tata showroom are good and they are near at my home

Clutch issue completely depend on driver for any car.

This is absolutely not true, my scorpio has this issue, however, I never touch clutch unnaccerily

Saurav thanks for your comment. Hahaha nothing like that. Its like for full marks you have to be exceptionaly good. Perfect. There are still things need to improve. Hope fully one day will give them 5/5 🙂

This happened with my Harrier as well. It was brand new and went on a long trip and the clutch plate got burned, there was smoke everywhere and I had to stop the car. Tata did change the clutch plates free of charge. But ever since then my clutch has become very hard. Had it changed two times in the past 2 years but the problem still persists. Tata service center always charged me saying it was not covered under warranty, and always blamed me saying I was a bad driver. I drove more than 20 cars in the past 10 years, never had any issues with any other cars, and no one ever called me a bad driver. Worst service from Tata.

Yes, the driving skills matters. I think the harrier is not built for city traffic or say bumper to bumper drive. It is the king of Highways. Still your honest feed back on social media helps the new buyers as well as the manufacturer to further improve their product by removing the deficiencies faced by their customer. Also would like to appreciate the honest services that Tata offers on their product.
Same thing happened with my Harrier fearless plus (face lift) MT. It’s hardly 4 months old and driven only 4,000 Kms, it happened in bumper to bumper traffic in Bangalore, service center people said clutch override happened, they haven’t replace it saying it’s just minor burn, as of now it is working fine, I am still worried to go for long drive with the family.!
This similar thing happened with me with Gear and clutch plate the gear was not changing they have very bad services but still live Tata harrier

Hello nice to hear that it got replaced free of cost. I have a question. I faced the same problem in my maruti ciaz, i was stuck in a very long traffic jam with my family and on a roundabout(chowk), i got smells of burn. My car was moving very slowly at 1st gear and 5000 to 6000 rpm. After so much hardwork i was able to park my car at a side. I opened the bonet and smoke was coming out of it. Nexa team was on their way and they said they would give me the car next day as it was 7 o clock. But a local service engineer came after about an hour and he tried to drive it. The clutch plate may have cooled down fast due to winter season. He said you can go and told to check tyre pressure and didnt took money. I crossed the city and then it was the gt road so no problem was there. The nexa service at my destination city told that it would cost more than 5000 to replace the clutch plate and pressure plate and i could replace it at my hometown. My car's pickup is decreased and when i try to pull it to more than 100 kmph, the revs go very high. Should i replace the plate and ask the service people to change it for free?Please answer
Hello Ankit thanks for sharing your experience. You didnt mention how old your ciaz is. TATA is very concern about harrier feedabck as its their flagship car. I am not sure if maruti will be willing to replace it free. In general scenerio CAR manufacturer dont replace clutch plate for free of cost.

I am also facing same issue in my new model tata safari accomplished manual. I have bought it on 15 Dec 2023 it’s been 6 months and my running is 4800km.But service centre is not exchanging my clutch plate. They are saying you have to pay for it.

1) yes its better. I explained in last part of video
2) travel distance is same. I cant comment on how comfortable harrier is for city drive. Its a big vehicle made for highways and for lil enthusiastic driving.
My harrier also had same issue. Sagar motors replaced it free of cost.

Just after 3months of purchase in my harrier the clutch got stuck to floor and it's not starting
Showroom guys are telling it's clutch plate burn issue but there is no smell and gears also looks fine. They are asking for 30-40k with same reason saying it doesnt come under warranty
Ask them to return/ replace the car as it's under 3 months.

bro don't drive car on half clutch, or your clutch will wear out like hell(half clutch means accelerating while the clutch is half pressed)

Go for Mahindra, mhawk engine has no challenge, using xuv500 since 2013, it clocked 130000 kms didn't face any such issues.
Sirji dekho gadi ka clutch driver ke upar hota hain. Aur haa sahi baat bola apne roadside assistance sayad acha na ho paya us time
Paul you are correct upto an extent. But sometimes you have to drive car with half clutch.

bought dark edition XZ+ day before yesterday and the clutch plate got burnt just today (only after driving for 170 kms). Will take it to the service center on sunday and let's see if they make me pay for it or not.

Based off of a range rover platform, known to breakdown. Tata should've focussed more on reliability tested products for years instead of releasing such rushed products.
We have had 3 Tata cars in family. tat have always stood by its commitments and warranty. Even for 4 years warranty for Nano. If you want additional peace of mind then choose P2P or Gold AMC atthe time of buying.
I am having same pblm . I m having Tata safari while in jam I got my clutch plates burned..but service centre refused to change the clutched and charging rs 60000 ..I left the car in service centre

I was stuck in a horrible traffic once on the ghat section going uphill. That day I was surprised to see brand new cars with their hood open because of overheating and clutch burning. I was in my 8 year old duster and moved out of the traffic without any issues. I feel that the quality of parts in the new cars are deteriorating. Clutch usually works fine for around 90-100k kms.

Yes I have also faced the same issue in toll gate and it was really unexpected from such a car. The situation would have got really bad... When checked with service station they say it's normal as it has dual clutch thing (not sure if this is correct). Not sure if the idea was good to go for manual transmission..

I had faced a breakdown issue with my Honda City previously where I had to reach out to roadside assistance team of Honda...they sent the towing van in similar manner. Similar was a case with a friends Innova that got stalled in Mumbai Bangalore highway when we all were travelling together ...As per my understanding, none of the auto service centres ever send technicians on the spot as issue can be complex. It’s always towed away to the service Center for complete inspection. Wouldn’t blame Tata for their response in that scenario

Thats very good that Tata is improving in service but you are facing within warranty but what happened if this happens after 3year. You are not spending 18lac rupes only for 3year.

I have harrier which is run only 3000 km and faced same problem but tata says that it's ok your clutch is just heat up not fully burned that's why we can not change this.

Mere safari mein same prblm aaye but service centre waale clutch change nhi kar rhe .. keh rahe clucth theek hai bilkul aur agar change krwana hai to paise dene padenge .. muje kyaa krnaa chahiye

@@powerslavenegi how many hav got such issue? may be very few! Other vehicle don't have such issues? All MANUFACTURERS have but if TATA takes seriously, it is a good sign. You can't say don;t buy Harrier, which is stupidity.
Service center experience depends on the place and the people working there, I think kuch logo ka goodwill hota h ki ek baar mein hi baat maan lete h and kuch extra kaam apni side se bhi kr dete w/o any charge. this is not just for TATA but for other brands as well. Toyota wale shayad apne service managers ko bhi customer handle krne ki training dete honge isiliye usnki serive best in the country h, which adds on the value of the brand.

I faced the same issue thrice. Now the service center is saying they have to change the clutch assembly along with flywheel which would cost approx 1 lakh🥴

As your harrier is a newly launched product and as Tata motors generally treat its customers liberally for both heavy, medium or light commercial as well as private vehicles so you got the clutch and pressure plate replacement free other wise the service centre at Hrisikesh told you the correct thing as all company's generally don't accept any warrantier claim regarding wear and tear items and electrical items which you can enquire for companies like honda or toyota

I purchased Tata Safari 2021 in the month of October ..till now 3 times clutch burnt and now flywheel also burnt approx cost 60K.

Maine ye video poora dekha ; apko jo Rishikesh wale sahab ne bataya tha wahi sach hai . Actually mein Harrier mein clutch ka design flaw hai , in western country wo log recall karte hain and sabki free replacement hoti hai . Ye log chup hai aur jin logon ko issue aa raha hai aur apki tarah aware hain unko free mein replace kar rahe hain . Basically Ye Fiat engine aur CLutch ka mating/integration ka issue hai . I mean agar aap scientifically sochein to simple hai ; aap to gadi sahi chala rahe the phir bhi 2-4 km mein clutch burn hua , ab replace to kar diya lekin kitne din chalega ? Generally city mein 1 clutch lasts 50K-100K KMs easily .
Same thing happened to me yesterday with my New Tata Safari xz+ model, 1.5 months old. There was bumper to bumper traffic, suddenly, smoke & smell started coming. I immediately stop my car & switch off the engine. I immediately call breakdown assistance, they send towing truck. & towing truck leave the car in Tata service centre. They said it was due to burning clutch & leather in it. They said it did not come under warranty & asked me to buy golden amc as it covers clutch too. My car has been driven only 1650 km. They said, till next problem comes, drive it. But, expecting this problem from a new car is extremely shocking.

Bro I went for harrier test drive in 1 st gear at low speed car is stopping all the time is there any problem in the car or is the clutch too deep I hav Inova I didn't feel the same in it ??
How many kms was ur car driven before this incident?
Bro in bs4 power is less(130nm) thts why there is no burning issue... But in bs6 they upgrade n refine that kayrotec engine (170nm) thats why assmbly kit dosnt bare that power n burn.... It is comman problm in kia seltos, mg hactor, and jeep compass... Its only wy to overcome stop using half clutch use proper gear and dont accelerate fast during half clutch

Hello Aditya. Completely depend on your need. If one have all city drive, need comfort over a enthusiastic drive, ok with a lil low fuel economy should go for Automatic. Otherwise Manual any time :)
I had a question regarding the above video because I have faced the same issue with the Tata Safari model. But wanted to know when this clutch issue happened after your car purchase date? Because they are replacing the whole clutch
Hey I too faced the same problem with the safari xzplus dark edition.
I stopped the car for 30mins to one hour to cool it down and again it worked properly. But after that I avoided using the car in heavy traffic jam.. there is this issue with safari and harrier cars...
I had same issue like you mentioned in the video. I need t.o know have you purchased gold AMC or some other insurance.. here in service Center they are saying that you need to have iether of the gold Amac or p2p to get the clutch plate replace for free of cost. Appreciate if you could reply soon..

Sir have you tried to replace the side mirrors with new small size? Any chance to free replacement of these mirrors from service center if you request by telling them that old bs4 large mirrors are creating blind spot and you feel discomfort while driving & turning the car ?

Today I faced it 😢. With new safari 2022 model. I kept the car idle for 1 hour and the clutch started working. It's all because of heavy traffic jam

@@rps5952 I avoided going into traffic after that incident...still don't know if that issue will araise. But it will happen again if I use the car in heavy traffic driving it in 2 and 3 gears..
I will solve this when I take the car again to service center
I think..the major issue of this might be Deep clutch ...nd the load that deep clutch creates in heavy traffic
Even I faced the same with my harrier within 1 month , they didn’t charge they said this is not permanent resolution

Hello Harrier only comes in diesel varient. And its manual.

I have nexon xza+ top model variant and I have come across this problem specially when in traffic jam bumper to bumper for long time nexon service center was prompt to diagnose the problem and said clutch plate issue
Entire car industry is for economical price structure due to competition and use amt or dct versions and are real cause of the issues

Which model do you have Bs 4 or 6 ? Heard tata has improved clutch plates in bs 6. Is it true ?

Mostly like 22k with labour charges...
In my three cars I never had to change anything and have crossed 45,000 kms.... all excellent... they are Honda and Suzuki...the best ❤️
