Like it! I also built a tester out of a 6x6x4 plastic junction box a few years ago, it runs on shore power and I put in an actual flasher for turn signals. My next iteration will be in a pelican with battery power like this

Joe! Thank you for this video. I like the idea of adding a fuse in the tester. That'll have to go in my V2. also Thanks for showing the wiring diagram.

That's awsome. Nice job on the tester.

Great video! If you had put the 7 pin connector in the opposite end of the pelican from the battery you would have had plenty of room for the switches… Love what you did.

Good job on the video and build. Where did you get the project plans from? I'd like to build one.

Great video - Great Project!!! - any way we can get a copy of the wiring diagram? (Joe from Romeo Michigan) Definitely the best DIY trailer tester that I've come across

Do you have any links to the items used?

I like the way you have the switches simplify things. Did you contemplate making the box a 'passthrough'? Sometimes I see a trailer working and a vehicle working, but when connected funny stuff happens.

I built my own trailer tester with a pass-through. You can plug the vehicle into the tester and then the tester into the trailer say you turn on the left turn signal, the light in the left turn switch on the tester will light up as the lights flash. You can also hook the tester up to an external 12v battery and test each trailer circuit separately if you suspect the vehicle is at fault. This tool has come in handy

Wold you be willing to share the drawings and parts list? I would like to make one for testing agriculture tractors and pull behind implements.

Could you post a picture of the diagram?

is your milwaukee 12v battery holder a through mount? all I can find online is the flange surface mount. I would like to make mine with the battery installed from the outside rather than open it up. did you order, or have a link or 3d print your own?

Do you have a link to send questions about some of your projects other than the public comment section? Thank you

Very nice set up. I have a schematic for one all set, and I like your layout. I'm going to use it. One request, pretend Elmer J Fudd is explaing to "move the camerwa vwery, vwery, vwery slowly." I get motion sickness when the camera moves around too much, too fast. Again, thank you for sharing an impressive design.

One idea for the next revision- on mine I have a buzzer on the truck side for the stop lights. Saves pushing the pedal and trying to see the tester at the same time. If that makes sense?

Technically in the trailer plug you don't have brake lights you have a left and right light that does blinkers and brakes. so if the blinker works so do the brakes.

How well does the 12 volt Milwaukee battery hold up testing trailer lights. I have a couple of tools that use the same battery.

So far so good! I can usually fix the issue before the battery is dead.

I like the idea, I won't have to buy a battery and if I test a trailer with a battery just don't plug in a battery.

    Nice work.
Instead of a fuse why not a breaker?

Can you explain what you mean? Are the LED’s 12 volt safe? A lot of LED’s are 3volts only they might not like 12 volts
