Wire in your left and right brake lights directly to the 7 pin output (before the tekonsha box) and you’ll get your hazards back. I can’t see an advantage to running the left and right brake lights from this box, aside from it requiring two additional wire runs from front to back of the trailer. But I get the sense you don’t mind running wires! 😂
@@BBerkow thanks! I ended up doing that. The tekoncha is on the trailer and I feed the turn signal brake lights are fed from the proper signals. The tekoncha only feeds the turn signals
the USA has such a complicated system in Australia we have Turn Signals that are Amber and stops that are Red Running lights that are 1/2 the wattage of the stop lights all wired seperate ,,,, SIMPLE Rob NSW AU

Crazy thing is my Land Rover has orange turn signals that are separate from brake light circuit, but on the USA spec trailer wiring harness, turn and brake signals are combined into one circuit in the 7 pin trailer plug. It has been proven that separate indicator (amber) and brake lights improve safety by 25% but yet the US has not adopted this. I suppose it is the same as the metric system...
Alright Joe, well done! It is unclear to me - what happens when you first hit the brakes then engage turn signal ? Any difference if first apply turn signal then step on the brake pedal ? Thanks!
Joe, here is my set up on my RV. Running lights off, side markers flash with rear brake lights. Running lights on, side marker light flash opposite of rear brake lights. I have a 12 volt feed to my RV relay that does not have a brake light signal. I have a 12 volt feed from the fuse box under the hood with a relay that is triggered by the front turn signal. Two feeds, left and right. I tried one of those boxes and wasn't happy. Multilabel fuses as well.
And one more, it appears you are using both the Tekonsha 118158 and your custom relay scheme at the same time. Why not just use the Tekonsha 118158 box ?
