Awesome video man. Thanx alot for taking the time to make it. The pre trip inspection for the test is half the battle. I will be watching this a few times.
How do all the fat truckers get under there tractor do there pre trips ??also u mentioned the bumper being secure more then once is that mandatory for the test?
its not comprehensive ops i see "part 6" maybe he should have links in description areas to all the other parts i am curious if all the other parts add up to over 45 min time limit to complete ( and autofail if your not fast enough ) IMO having a time limit is NOT what icbc should have this is a Pre-Trip SAFTEY check not a "speed race" Its ridiculous , the legislation needs to be changed some bureaucrat who has never set foot in a big truck made this "hard rule" . Told by an icbc person who knows.. that avg time for pretrip is 43 mins!!! . That means over half fail pretrip because of TIME and not knowledge.. All driving schools should petition the gov't for a change in the time apparently class 3 has same time limit as class 1 as of this posting. Go figure ! Class 1 imo should be 60-65 mins
the couple and uncouple is done HOWEVER is not time restricted and falls outside of the "pretrip" inspection 45 min death timeline. The tug test is apart of the TIME LIMIT ( But not the "couple and uncouple" component of the test. However remember your expected to do another tug test after hook ups as part of this component of the testing . But its not under a time restriction Examiner will confirm what i say . Ask examiner to loudly give you say a 7 min warning before you hit the "PRETRIP DEATH TIME LIMIT" suggest you bring your own stop watch
your blocks need to be removed prior to tug test. IMPORTANT BEFORE YOU REMOVE THE BLOCKS !! GET IN YOUR CAB AND SET BOTH PARKING BRAKES - AUTO FAIL IF YOU DON'T - DANGEROUS ACTION.. ( Your brakes remember are currently released state, which was necessary to allow you to do your push rod travel checks on all the brake chambers (tractor and trailer ) - so you MUST re-apply the parking brakes ( both ) prior to removing the blocks. ) THEN get out and remove the blocks ( and store them) THEN get back in the cab and start truck to do the tug test AFTER THE "4" BRAKE TESTS ( with no blocks ) - trailer tug - tractor tug - hand brake - foot pedal response test - check steering wheel play for excessive play THEN PUT TRUCK IN NEUTRAL , SET YOUR PARKING BRAKES take note of the truck MILEAGE - ask for that pretrip blank report sheet ... ) then turn off engine (optional) ( i assume mileage reading requires at least key in "on" position ( digitial reading ) THEN examiner will give you PRETRIP INSPECTION REPORT to fill out - do it fast !!! your close to out of time !!. ( you will probably have exceeded the 45min mark when you commence the brake tests - and its at the examiner's discretion if he "lets is go overtime" - again this is all ridiculous the 45 min hard rule I am saying this by experience ! it must be in another one of his videos this video is # 6 read my other comments.
the tractor axles are the DRIVE wheels not the trailer and the tractor right next to your storage compartment it makes total sense to block the 1 drive wheel.
apx 30 ft straight back in their lot prior to going on the road. just remember to honk the horn before starting your backup ( posting just for the new reader )
The truck is secure the tires are secure the sleeper is secure lug nuts are secure bumper is secure the hood is secure the steering wheel is secure the antenna is secure the grill is secure my ghetto boys album is loaded and secure
FINALLY! Thank you for this comprehensive BC pre-trip. Best video yet.

why do you block the tractor rather than the trailer? Do you not uncouple/couple for the exam?
Ray mond probably because trailer has spring breaks. And you have to do a tug test.
@@andrewginn2057 just curious, as I am seeing different things being done...if you do the tug test your against the blocks..how would you know?

THEN get out and remove the blocks ( and store them)
THEN get back in the cab and start truck to do the tug test
AFTER THE "4" BRAKE TESTS ( with no blocks )
- trailer tug
- tractor tug
- hand brake
- foot pedal response test
- check steering wheel play for excessive play
THEN PUT TRUCK IN NEUTRAL , SET YOUR PARKING BRAKES
take note of the truck MILEAGE - ask for that pretrip blank report sheet ... )

What backing manouver do they require you to do for the BC road test?
Straight back
Would this pre inspection be the same for Alberta
apx 30 ft straight back in their lot prior to going on the road.

Thanks ,going for test tomorrow ,
Did you pass?
good video thank you
I thought you should all ways do the walk around counter clock wise so you can face uncommon traffic.
Hes doing the inspection on the yard, but would be nice to mention in other circumstances
Not bad but you forgot the sliding tandems and locking pin, rear and sides of the trailer, marker lights and turn signals.
Try watching all of the videos 😎
