We know you are a busy guy, raising good kids, running a business, still putting out great content for us subscribers. Thanks Pete - you’re a good man. Atta boy 😎
Mic works...and the GCI TTF is hands down the best grass seed I've ever used. Much much better than the big box store big brands. Went ahead and seeded a section of crown grass that I removed and it came in after 3 days. 10 days later, it's really filled in. Amazing!! Definitely worth the money! Can't wait to do an aeration and overseed of my yard.
I aerated and seeded this morning with my recently delivered bag of Cool Blue up here in Northern New Jersey. I rented a Ryan walk behind aerator..... Man!! The thing was a beast. I’m used to the stand on version. The guy told me I’d need my track shoes. He wasn’t kidding! Picking up my starter fert tomorrow.
Every single year I over seed, and aerate the lawn. I also dethatch as well. Delaware is starting to see some cooler temps finally. Then I’ll be planting your GCI TTTF grass seed! Excited and can’t wait! Also your guide is amazing and very knowledgeable. Anyone that does not have Pete’s guide it is def worth it. The Facebook Group is also full of knowledgeable people as well.
About to kill the weeds in my yard in Middletown and start a renovation which i bought from Pete which is pretty straightforward.. buying all the products from Petes store that goes along with it... very much excited about it
Let me know how that works! I'm in Slower Lower :) and getting ready to plant Blue Heat in the front yard. If it comes in like I would like, it will be going in the back yard next year!
Pete I'm glad you put this video out I have been reading all day trying to plan when, how, what I need for a overseed here in n.c. trying not to let myself down and do it the right way.thanks again for the video's pete your the man.
Man oh man that test plot looks great Pete. You can barely tell you've left it alone this year. Mother nature hasn't done us any favors in NC. I can see how you're taxed with all the work you put in at the shop. I don't blame you for wanting to hold off till next year on the test plot at home. Itching to get my fall renovation started mid September with your TTTF.
+1 on waiting. If you’re going to do it, do it right. Get your rest and knock it out of the park next year. Heck, after this year, Mother Nature might reward us next season.
Hi mister Pete I want you to know how much I enjoy your videos I live in Michigan I just recently purchased your tall fescue grass along with the starter fertilizer very excited to do this stuff and I appreciate all the teachings that you do I purchased your grass seed along with fertilizer to Yard Man
Thank you sir. Many of your videos have super helped me. I have a fescue yard in western colorado, it is getting bombarded by bermuda due to much higher temps lately. Think i have a plan now to get it back to fescue only
This video is right on time. Just started my back yard renovation. Everything is getting zapped. Waiting on my GCI Blue Heat to arrive. Gotta trust the renovation process to make this successful. God bless you Pete.
Thank you Pete I am so glad you put out this video my grass is going through the heat stress I thought it was something else of course in California it’s 105 107 in the month of August
Scalped and sprayed tenacity. Going to aerate and seed next weekend here in SW PA. Hopefully your Cool Blue is better in the heat than what is here now. The only thing that stayed green was the clumping tall fescue
my elite bluegrass seems very thick. I have not overseeded that last 3 years but I have aerated every year since. I have cut my lawn lower the last 2 times that I mowed and am now on the 2nd from the lowest setting on my Toro SuperRecycler. Now that I have mowed it down I am really seeing all of the dead grass from throughout the summer. I was putting an inch a week on my lawn and keeping it taller throughout the heat of summer. Not sure why there is so much dead in the lawn as I have been doing my monthly applications of the Greene County package and CarbonX. It seems that it was heat stress but again...I was putting a lot of water on it. The yard is level. I am ready to take it down another level to the lowest setting and then dethatch it but not sure. It has now cooled down for the last 2 weeks...tonight its going to get down to 34...I am in South Dakota. I dont believe that I have enough time to get bluegrass to germinate and take hold before winter sets in. What might you recommend? Either way I feel like dethatching is going to be necessary in the spring.
Pete, you do good work and I really enjoy your videos. I love you like a brother, but the more I hear you talk, the more I love my St Augustine grass which never needs to be overseeded, dethatched, sprayed with chemicals, or aerated. I live in Texas where it REALLY is hot and dry - big time, and my St. Augustine still looks good after the bermuda and cool season stuff has given up the ghost. How about a test plot of quality St. Aug. Cut it at about 3 inches and get out of the way.
I overseeded my back yard last Sunday worried about first frost well... I have 7 days at around 90 91 degreees. I am so bummed. I have germination but I’m still worried. I’ll add a little more water between what I hVe going now but this is so aggravating.
Pete.. seed guide says 50-65 degree soil temp. Mine is currently 74. Im currently within 60 days or less of first frost. East TN... TTTF. Should I plant now or wait?? Yard is ready.
Sure like to aquire about the GCI seed ..... Currently yard is Burmuda I'd like to over seed part in a rye grass and part in a bluegrass South Central Kansas 🌻🌪️
Hey Pete, just be weary of how you grade that swale drain when you regrade the area. You don’t want to divert all street water into your property or you may end up flooding your downhill neighbour.
I could hear you loud and clear! Barely heard the weedeater running and those cars in the background were silent :) It’s been raining in NW GA for the last couple weeks mostly and haven’t been able to spray any herbicides yet 🤦♂️ lol, we prayed for rain during the drought and now it won’t stop! 🤣 I still have a ton of dallas grass and bermuda that I’m determined to get sprayed this week, looks like I won’t get to aerate & overseed for another month but I’m patiently looking forward it.
another month will be perfect anyway so long as you aren't up on the plateau zone. I'm down in the piedmont zone and don't plan on throwing down until oct 3-4 unless weather changes drastically.
Hey Pete, Just a bit of advice for your next video. The title is good but I'd make the title a question instead of a statement. Next, I wouldn't give the answer away in the thumbnail. Because of that I wasn't even going to click on the video. Once I knew you were going to aerate and overseed, that was it for me. On to the next video. Keep up the great content!
Hey Pete, do you know anything about annual flowers? I would love to see a video explaining how to “get the soil right” for flowers and how to do fertilization drench/follow up maintenance. Thank you sir!
I'm an aspiring DIY'er but really need to prioritize my time in the yard vs time with the family. My biggest struggle is finding a contractor that I trust to do work like you do Pete. So my question is, do you have any resources, websites, etc. to help someone like me that wants a sweet turf but needs to pay someone to get it good?
Good information what seed do you use I’m in florida can you please tell me the food and nutrition I have saint Augustine grass in my yard and a month ago I had beautiful green grass and that under the green I the bottom was turning brown and now I have lots of weed so what to do first to a get my grass healthy for spring thanks
Microphone sounds great Pete, looking forward to the content coming up on this. Do you scalp( cut lower) when you aerate and overseed? If so how much lower?
Pete I live in Southern Delaware my lawn is combination of common Bermuda and fescue. I like the combination as my lawn looks green in July and August. I like to add some hybrid Bermuda. Any suggestions on how to do a combo lawn. Mower heights. , etc. just aerated the lawn and seeded with fescue. I should mention my lawn is 2 acres. Gary
How would you recommend doing this process and also killing a yard full of weeds? Would putting down weed killer work during this process? Or would it kill the seed too?
Hey Pete if I have a yard with a good amount of ky31 the real thick blade that looks like garbage. What would be the best way to take that over with some good fescue besides smoking out entire yard? Or is that the only way to. Thanks
Sir...what's a good way to deal with rabbits killing my back lawn...found about 12 holes...daughter said she sees the rabbits everyday back there...thanks in advance...be sàfe
Best looking "ditch" I've ever seen. What height do you mow it at? Have you done a soil test? Neighbor's weed whip didn't bother me at all. Music to my ears.
Always good information. I love that Kentucky Blue grass... I believe it might be a little to warm for here in southern Alabama. I am currently dealing with centipede... I wish I could burn it off and go to something else... Any hints on working with centipede ?
Around typically how much time does bluegrass take to germinate im planning on over seeding today since soil Temps around my area are around 70s starting tomorrow but our first frost should be around Oct 10th to 20th would i have enough time to not be worried ? I planted my 3000 sqft yard this spring in Colorado, my first time and started from scratch. I rototilled, spread seed, used a starter fert and watched it grow. I ended up spreading the seed to thin and little. I would say 50% of the yard is doing great and the other 50 is hardly there or very thin and stressed out, so there are very large bare spots. I will be aerating and overseeing the entire yard, but what should I do about the very large bare spots. Also the ground seems kind of hard. In those areas. What do you recommend?
Thanks Pete for the update information. I'm ready green Pop GCI tttf seed. Just waiting for the next door neighbor's lawn guy to come by to arerate on mid Sept. I'm too old and fail to handle aeration by myself.
Hey Pete, going to slice seed about 1000# GCI TTTF next weekend. Should I spend the time and money to aerate before slicing or is slicing enough? Using HyR Start fert!
I'm new at this got frustrated with lawn service so I'm doing my Lawn myself. Following your instructions I have a problem I put Carbon X down high nitrogen last week. Can I still put my seeds down and starter fertilizer down soon. Ty.
Thanks so much. The weather here in Mich turning next week so I'll get this down soon as possible. Yell I kinda burn the grass a little but its getting plenty of water hopefully my lawn will be better next yr. Thanks again.
Hi Pete, question....if your soil test indicates your soil is high in phosphorus would you still use starter fertilizer before your fall over-seed? Or should you play it safe with a 10-10-10?
great channel. finally someone to show me what to do with tall fescue in NC! I need to level out and fill in some bare areas. should I add top soil and level before I aerate and seed? I also need to lime. can I add that at the same time I add seed?
Love your videos brother ....ive got a question... My back yard looks amazing but my front yard is really thin and full of weeds ....ive tried everything...milorganite, overseeding You got any tips ?
Pete, I love your program! My lawn is primarily common Bermuda and looks good by August. Looking for some advice on managing K31 in heavy shade. Weeds in lawn after seeding & germination ... 3 weeks post seeding. Ok to apply a product such as Tenacity or something different or wait “x” more weeks?
Microphone is good n clear...8 hrs dethatching all day today, mowed, mowed again after dethatch, seeded, starter fertilizer, top dressed, and watered it all in.
We know you are a busy guy, raising good kids, running a business, still putting out great content for us subscribers. Thanks Pete - you’re a good man. Atta boy 😎
Microphone is great. Sounds really good.

Hope you had good sprinklers, i dont think its rained once since you posted that lol!
mark rossi You know it..... keep your seed moist!! 4 times a day for 10 minutes
Doing my overseeding in 2 weeks! Fescue in the backyard. Spraying tenacity this week. Aerating next week. Seeding and covering in quality top soil
Aerated, dethatched, fertilized, overseeded with TTTF and topdressed with peatmoss over the weekend, looking forward to next year!
Same!

This comment helped me. I was deciding on whether or not to get the guide. I think I will. Does it also tell you “when” to do stuff? And not just how.

Isaiah Very cool. Thank you!

Thanks Pete. I decided to aerate and seed after all. Cool Blue has been delivered and waiting for FedEx to finally deliver the Green Pop.
Back to the basics. Great information.
After I overseeded l used 9-0-1 green start and humic 12 next year definitely buying some cool blue grass seed cuz I live in the North

You're grass seed is amazing Pete! I am putting the cool blue down this fall. I'm excited to see how it turns out in my yard.
Thank you Pete I am so glad you put out this video my grass is going through the heat stress I thought it was something else of course in California it’s 105 107 in the month of August
Im in CA as well and dealing with the same.
Excellent info 👍🏼👏🏻 aerated/scarified and over-seeded in the UK this afternoon.
Thanks Pete for the helpful tips
Pete thanks for the video and also for the challenge.
Pete your awesome! Just bought some of your TTTF and it’s coming up now. Can’t wait to give it a mow
Scalped and sprayed tenacity. Going to aerate and seed next weekend here in SW PA. Hopefully your Cool Blue is better in the heat than what is here now. The only thing that stayed green was the clumping tall fescue
That’s why I went with tttf this year.
Like you I will be overseeding late Sept here in Maryland usually still mowing up till about Christmas when I use winterizer.

In time brother u get to it keep doing u we still watch 💯 God bless you n family
Love your videos man. Keep up the great work!
Overseeded with Cool Blue on August 30th. The anticipation of new seed beginning to germinate is killing me lol.
Just put down some PRG and i basically cant sleep now in anticipation 🙃

So ready for plugging and seeding.
Can’t wait #pumped
Microphone works good ... do you ever use the arevator for aeration?
Is there any need to aerate and overseed a creeping type turf?
Microphone sounds good. It seems to dampen out other noises. Can’t wait to see how it works at your office!! Thanks, Pete!!
Pete.. seed guide says 50-65 degree soil temp. Mine is currently 74. Im currently within 60 days or less of first frost. East TN... TTTF. Should I plant now or wait??

Great video!
Any benefit in aerating, then top dressing with compost/sand to fill in the holes prior to overseeding?
hey Pete bought some vexis for nutsedge applied this weekend, will look fwd to some results in a week or so
Microphone helps a ton! Nice even, consistent sound.
Haha I love this guy!

What are optimum day and night temperatures that make fescue thrive? At what temperatures does it also begin to shutdown?
Damn It will be an honor to stripe your lawn it looks green beautiful
New mic is great!
Anyone know what types of evergreens are behind Pete at the end of the video?
Yeah one of my islands is completely dry my grass died on that end and the areas next to the sidewalk
Awesome stuff pete
Pete make a update video on the bluemuda grass plz
Hey Pete,
Just a bit of advice for your next video.
The title is good but I'd make the title a question instead of a statement.
Next, I wouldn't give the answer away in the thumbnail. Because of that I wasn't even going to click on the video.
Once I knew you were going to aerate and overseed, that was it for me. On to the next video.
Keep up the great content!
FINALLY....I found the material, it's longleaf pine straw for the bedding material you use isn't it?
Hey Pete, do you know anything about annual flowers? I would love to see a video explaining how to “get the soil right” for flowers and how to do fertilization drench/follow up maintenance. Thank you sir!

Would you still need a fertlizer if your top dressing existing lawn with dried compost manure?
Hey Pete. Any vids on sand leveling? Should you do this before aerating and seeding ? What is the correct protocal
Thanks for this, great video.
Microphone sounds great Pete, looking forward to the content coming up on this. Do you scalp( cut lower) when you aerate and overseed? If so how much lower?
Good question
Pete

Any suggestions on how to do a combo lawn. Mower heights. , etc. just aerated the lawn and seeded with fescue. I should mention my lawn is 2 acres.
Gary
Gary Smith keep the fescue as healthy as possible so it will compete with the Bermuda and won’t be taken over. Sounds like you are doing that!
How would you recommend doing this process and also killing a yard full of weeds? Would putting down weed killer work during this process? Or would it kill the seed too?
Morgan you need to buy tenacity. Its one of the only weed killers that can be sprayed at the time of seeding.
Great video thank you 🇺🇸
Yes very helpful man thanks
Pete without a hat?! and singing?! crazy start to the video
:) I can’t wait to do my yard
How low should you mow the fescue before aerating?
Hey Pete if I have a yard with a good amount of ky31 the real thick blade that looks like garbage. What would be the best way to take that over with some good fescue besides smoking out entire yard? Or is that the only way to. Thanks

Do you like the are aeravator on the Ventrac?

Thanks Pete for the update information. I'm ready green Pop GCI tttf seed. Just waiting for the next door neighbor's lawn guy to come by to arerate on mid Sept. I'm too old and fail to handle aeration by myself.
Thanks for dropping the knowledge as usual Pete! Love it! Loved the start of the video too 🤣
Off topic, but if you fast forward the video you can see a time lapse of a storm trying to brew up :)
Will you be doing a regular pre emergent dose on your shop bermuda? When?
Hey Pete, going to slice seed about 1000# GCI TTTF next weekend. Should I spend the time and money to aerate before slicing or is slicing enough? Using HyR Start fert!
I'm new at this got frustrated with lawn service so I'm doing my Lawn myself. Following your instructions I have a problem I put Carbon X down high nitrogen last week. Can I still put my seeds down and starter fertilizer down soon. Ty.
Just add seeds. You already fertilized. I think u may burn the grass with too much fertilizer
My back yard looks amazing but my front yard is really thin and full of weeds ....ive tried everything...milorganite, overseeding
You got any tips ?
Pete, I love your program! My lawn is primarily common Bermuda and looks good by August. Looking for some advice on managing K31 in heavy shade. The fescue does well up to the transition line to where full sun lies. Then the Bermuda starts running, but there’s always a super thin area right at that line. Any suggestions on how to get the two to blend successfully during the summer?
Just wondering what kind of trees are the ones shown at 11:00
If you're still wondering, they're a variety of cryptomeria.
Is there a herbicide that will kill off everything but KBG. I want to get rid of my fescue and change it to a rye/kbg mix
Great choice for the close microphone!. The gain is set just a bit too high. (Like 2-3dB) I heard a couple of clips early on in the video. I love you man and I say that with truly the best intentions.
Weeds in lawn after seeding & germination ... 3 weeks post seeding. Ok to apply a product such as Tenacity or something different or wait “x” more weeks?
Check the label but most products recommend spraying after mowing 2-3 times.
You say wait 30 days to mow your new grass. Is that 30 day's from the time you put out the new seed or 30 day's from germination.
I live in Tennessee just outside of Nashville. Will the Bluegrass survive here? Thanks
Do you leave the core on the lawn or rake them.
leave them
Microphone is good n clear...8 hrs dethatching all day today, mowed, mowed again after dethatch, seeded, starter fertilizer, top dressed, and watered it all in.
I’m getting ready to get the GCI turf type tall fescue.
