I have been looking for a documentary on princess Louise.I think she Is absolutely fascinating Going against the grain is no easy thing especially if you are a member of the royal family Especially when queen victoria is your mother
I can fully imagine that the claims made by the alleged Great Grandson may surly have merit. Matters then , as well as now, with the royals are held in deep secrecy if it goes against the norms/traditions of the Royal family. I feel this beautiful Lady went through so much heart ache..Thank you for all your hard work Jon in the quest to understand the facts..
Great video. I have been interested in Princess Louise for a few years now and am always glad to see more information about her. Two points I would like to add. Rather than standards of the time, I think double standards is more accurate. Her brother the Prince of Wales, later Edward VII, had numerous mistresses. Her forced marriage to a Scottish aristocrat, is also very suspicious. She would have been expected to marry a foreign prince.
A few years ago I read a book focusing on Queen Victoria's daughters. The author thanked Queen Elizabeth for her permission to examine the royal archives. The only one of Queen Victoria's daughters not available was Princess Louise. The author tried the Campbell archives and the archives in Ottawa as well, with the same result. Nothing. The mystery is intriguing but I have to say, what's the big deal? This lady has been dead for a century. I suppose if there are descendants from an unwelcome pregnancy that could be problematic for the descendants and the royal family to some degree. However, it was a long time ago.
Hi, awesome live history video I enjoyed it. How are you doing? I'm doing well. I always enjoy watching your history videos every weekend. See you next video 😊
There were many many years after the birth and adoption of this mystery child that Louise lived yet you barely touch on them. I’d be interested in finding out about her life after this event throughout her adulthood into her old age and death.
This particular video reminded me of why I no longer support the need for the Royal family to continue to have the respect and love of the people of Britain. I personally think it's time the idea of having a Royal family to come to an end. Especially since recent conspiracy theories regarding Catherine Princess of Wales after her 'abdominal' surgery. I have my suspicions as to what she really had, but I choose not to say what because I don't want to add further fuel to the ridiculous theories flying around like so much choking dust in the air. Enough said. Thank you, Jon, yet again.
@cassandraralph5906 Catherine has cancer, why should hat have any bearing on whether or not there continues to be a royal family? There is alway an elite with more power and money than others, at least the BRF have a sense of duty.
So sad, she could not marry the man she loved or raise their son together. All her life she seemed to search for a stable love but never found it. Yet despite, personal heartache, she made a life for herself and followed her passion for sculpture. Took life and men as they came and went, but never indulged herself in pointless, self- indulgent grief and victimhood like her mother. A generous spirit shone from her that came from her Father Prince Albert. A life worth living is the best thing anyone can say at the end of the Journey. I have always admired and respected Princess Louise. The scandal of loving a man and enjoying the intimacy of that love to me- was no scandal nor the fruit of that Love either. The scandal was the ugliness of a hypocritical society who slept around, had numerous children born from them an open secret - but targeting women as sluts and unworthy. The child a terrible stain on family honor. Marriage became a economic and political transaction- Love and Respect and Compatibility of the couple not important. Sex was only duty to create children, instead of it being a sweet part of a partnership that brought pleasure , strength and comfort to a couple as they faced life and challenges. Trust your parents to pick your marriage partner cause they know best? One of the most Gas lighting ideas ever uttered. Ask the men and women who had to endure an arranged marriage to someone they neither liked nor had an spark with. Such wonderful times those. 😢
I enjoy your documentaries so very much, Jon. As much as I loved this one, are you ever likely to do one on Joan of Kent please? In appreciation, Elizabeth 🥀👑🥀👑
Contrast this behaviour with that of the Danish Princess Thyra, who supposedly was seduced by the first love of an adjutant and how her parents supposedly went so far to care lovingly for her.
It never presents it as fact but is going over the claim of someone currently living that directly links to a part of the Royal family. This seems like a logical choice of subject
More research on Louise's life would need to be done before an educated guess can be given about this matter. Certainly it's an intriguing story, though, one well worth looking into. 🤔
I always thought it was the Danish Princess Thyra that had a secret lovechild. 🤔 I've never heard this before today but if he @HistoryRoadshow thinks it might be so, then I do too! If the baby had Haemiphilia I'd say there would've been no question. But Louise wasn't a Carrier as far as I know like Alice and Baby Bea
I think this video is incredibly plausible ! I just had to watch again 😮 @HistoryRoadshow Do you think the reason why this had to remain a secret, for as long as it did was because of the already gender prejudice the 'little Queen' dealt with like "Can't handle her own daughters then how could she handle *insert literally anything*" ? Is that silly?
She married well, which would have been highly unlikely if she'd already born a child. She and Victoria were close, she acted as her mother's secretary for some time. A romantic story but probably fictitious.

It's as though she was sworn to silence. Her life must have been very lonely. Thanks Vic 😊
Great work, very well narrated. She was an interesting personality and lived a long life. Thank you Jon 😊
Glad you enjoyed it Anita, thanks 😊
Superb as always Jon, we will never know the truth about Louise, yet another mystery from history.
Spot on Simon, maybe one day her records may be made public! Thank you 😊
Princess Louise was beautiful 😍 She sure didnt look like her mother! Lol 😂 Thank you Jon again for an excellent video!
Glad you enjoyed it Theresa, thanks as always 😊

One day the truth may come out! Thank you Janet 😊
I wonder how different her life might have been if Albert had lived
Good point, thanks for watching 😊

Good points Brian, it's all very confusing as so little to go on, but hopefully the video whets appetites! Thank you 😊
Thanks!
Thank you Theresa, so kind and generous of you 😊
Interesting, mystifying, and sad. Great story telling.
Glad you enjoyed it Diane, thank you 😊

Another great episode. Keep them coming.
Thank you as always Mary Ann 😊
Great video beautifully done. Thank you, Jon 💖
Pleased you enjoyed it Marie, thank you 😊
Great video Jon
Thanks Ali 😊

Could be Endometriosis and tumours.... Far too few know about that cronic illnes!

I mean I guess we'll never know then. Only One was perfect so... oh but the fashion all through this era 🤌 thank you Jon I 💗 history ☕️
Pleasure Theresa, you never know one day! 😊
I think Louise must have been very unhappy. I hope she found some happiness during her lifetime
I enjoy your documentaries so very much, Jon. As much as I loved this one, are you ever likely to do one on Joan of Kent please? In appreciation, Elizabeth 🥀👑🥀👑
Noted Elizabeth, thank you 😊

If Louise was indeed pregnant by an officer the Queen could have made them get married. As it was she married someone beneath her
Probably an affair.
Pregnancy probably not.
It's really a toss of a coin as to what to believe, with little info on her made public. Thanks 😊
This is all gossip I don’t know about this website at all.
It never presents it as fact but is going over the claim of someone currently living that directly links to a part of the Royal family. This seems like a logical choice of subject
There's so many things that contribute to these rumors. It seems little strange fruit ob coincidence
Exactly! Be good if the truth came out one day, Thank you 😊
More research on Louise's life would need to be done before an educated guess can be given about this matter. Certainly it's an intriguing story, though, one well worth looking into. 🤔
If they opened the records we'd probably understand so much more. Thanks Patricia 😊
Very interesting story, it definitely raises some questions however it seems that a simple DNA test would clear this matter up once and for all.
❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks 😊
It’s a possibility

Interesting! So may questions about this lady but all hidden away, maybe one day! Thanks 😊

Princess louise Queen Victoria’s Princess Margret
queen victoria was not a very good mother.
... and very unintelligent, from what I know.
That guy was so old though, she looks a bit pregnant though. But who knows.
We'll only know if and when they release the records, thanks for watching 😊
✌️
Thank you 😊
She wasn't he 1st Royal male or female, worldwide. Much has changed in he last 50 to 75 yrs.
Can't argue with that! Thanks for watching 😊

There's definitely more to this story, but without access to records it's very difficult. Thanks 😊
