I followed every step, but whenever I try to connect the Netword drive to the Time Machine to set up as a new TM back up, the following error occurs. ----- The operation couldn’t be completed. (com.apple.TimeMachine.SettingsExtension error 5.)
Hi, Fabiorochatavora. Thank you for your comment. Have you checked under the Mac’s “system preferences” under “sharing” to make sure that the “File Sharing” box is checked? If you have and that isn’t resolving the issue, for further assistance you can submit a support ticket at, service.qnap.com/en/home and we can work with you to resolve the issue.
Hi, vbaryshev. Thank you for your comment, and apologies for the challenges that you’re experiencing. Currently we provide all of our client software through our utilities website, www.qnap.com/en-us/utilities/essentials. We have not included our QFinder app on the app store for many years. To download a current version of QFinder Pro please visit www.qnap.com/en-us/utilities/essentials. The current version should support the 64-bit architecture of MacOS Sonoma.
When I have multiple macs to backup, how can I set a maximum size for each backup in the shared folder to prevent that one mac uses all the space of the shared folder?
Hi, 1600gtj. You can consider creating separate users for each Time Machine backup and set a user quota for the maximum limit that you want, or you can create a volume on the storage pool that is the size of the limit you want, and then create a shared folder on that volume to set as the destination for the Time Machine backup."
