Suffer the Little Children Podcast - Episode 13: Marion Jester-Montoya

  • On January 7, 2020, 27-year-old Trevor Rowe was on his way home from work when he pulled over to check on his girlfriend’s 10-month-old daughter, Marion Jester-Montoya. Marion wasn’t, as you might expect, strapped into a rear-facing infant seat in the back of the car. She was stuffed into a backpack in the trunk, which was Trevor’s idea of an alternative to taking the little girl to a babysitter for the day. When Trevor opened the backpack, Marion was dead.
This is the bewildering story of Marion Jester-Montoya.

Shoving the baby in a bag are words that should never be spoken. This baby is safe in heaven.

Only one time. My dad used to put me in his north face sleeping bag and then walk me around the house inside the sleeping bag while I laughed my head off. At the time, it felt like an amusement park ride. I do the same with my little one now.
Of course, nobody ever got crammed into anything. It was more of a zipping action.

Social services always claim they are under staffed and over worked. The loving dad in this case did everything right and no excuses can make me understand why Social services didn't act. The dad did all the work for them they had all the evidence given to them

From what I see about these cases, they’re certainly well staffed when it comes to scapegoating innocent parents.
It’s laziness, that’s all this is. They’re lazy. They go for the low hanging fruit, which consists of people who are seen as undesirable by the SS (sorry, social services. That’s an unfortunate acronym, isn’t it? 🤭)

I really can't with this one. I'm having one of the worst pains in my heart hearing this one. Like you said, it's unimaginable the torture the poor baby suffered as he kept putting her BACK IN.
If I could, I'd kill him myself

It's kind of heartbreaking to hear the relatives' account of their last time with Marian.
How the last time one woman (don't remember which relative) saw her was when Marian was being carried away with behavior and a look on her face that said, "I don't want to be here! I wanna be with you! Don't make me go with these people! Why are you letting them take me?"
Marian might not have been able to actually speak those words, but if I was her relative I'd feel so damn guilty...

Veronica is vile. I looked up her Facebook page and she has the dates of Marions birth and death in her bio like she's a grieving mom. She abused her baby and supported the killer but she does that for sympathy. Disgusting. She's also with a new guy of course.

Poor little baby girl. She loved her daddy. She is one of the most angelic little babies I've ever seen. So senseless. I just don't understand why people don't realize how horrible they are to do this & then cry when everyone hates them or at least I feel that away. I just can't get over how beautiful Marion was oh my I hope Veronica can't sleep. And every time she falls asleep she wakes in horror of how that baby felt that last day she was alive. May she never have not one second of peaceful sleep.

When will Child Protective Services (really their name should be changed to Child Abuse Services) be held responsible for these babies murders. They are just as much to blame if not more because they had the power to put a stop to it. Its sickening how they repeatedly turn a blind eye and say oh well we can't do anything about it....I just will never understand. I am so angry.

If the normal routine was for her to go to the grandmas house why would the “ mom” need to ask him to take her? She knows his job. They said that’s her routine. I think they planned this to try and coverup the death. They are morons and sadistic

How absolutely heartbreaking and terrifying that there are people out there capable of such things.
It makes me think about my own childhood sometimes. Which wasn't as severe- obviously, I survived it. But I was often given massive doses of Benadryl when I got "annoying" or when they were tired or whatever. As a newborn, and up until I was a toddler, if I cried, they would blow pot smoke in my mouth until I stopped. I was beat and locked in rooms and emotionally and verbally abused. I recently got in contact with my first stepdad, who was in my life very early on. He said that even as a toddler, when my dad came to pick me up, I would become hysterical and frantic. I would lock myself in closets, bedrooms, bathrooms. I would cling to him and my mother and beg them not to make me go.
I'm lucky that I didn't end up as another statistic.. and my heart breaks for these innocent little babies who never did anything wrong, who never deserved the life they had to live. I hope they're all in a better place now, no more suffering and no more fear. I hope that they can laugh and smile, and that when they cling to someone it's because of love, not terror.

It's extremely saddening that this beautifully adorable baby girl had a whole family who loved and adored her. A caring and loving father who you can tell she loved so much as he did her. Yet here is another case where this baby showed signs of abuse and were given chances to take her out this home. This disgusting man. My heart hurts thinking of how this baby suffered. Again the system failed this baby. My heart goes out to the Montoya family who has experienced a devastating loss and more.

I mean, her aunt died of a meth overdose (not sure why the author called it 'acute meth toxicity'' as if it were a medical condition and not an overdose.), so clearly someone in the house had access.

In Sweden, parents sometimes take their kids to work if there is no available childcare (which is rare, but happens), but, you know, the kids aren’t LEFT IN A VEHICLE. Many workplaces accommodate for this.
There is at least a bit of concern that childcare is so inaccessible in some countries that claim to be fully developed. But, in this case, it’s even more confusing, as there was a grandparent ready and willing to watch the baby.

    • @SuffertheLittleChildrenPodcast
      @SuffertheLittleChildrenPodcast  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

Totally agreed! It's almost as if, on that particular day, Trevor wanted to punish baby Marion just for existing. Maybe he was annoyed with Veronica for not getting up to care for her own baby; maybe he was late for work and didn't have time to drop Marion off elsewhere; no matter what his reasoning, there was just no excuse for this.
