A detail not many have seem to notice, if you kill him the gate stays open, if you let him live it closes, so it's safe to assume that he freed himself and now is looking for his own way out, good luck little guy

The gate closes regardless once you've walked through. I killed him, and while I was looking at the art before taking the lift, the door closed. It just gives you plenty of time to go through if you're slow and admiring the scenery.
I feel so bad when I see that guy. I.. don't know why but I feel... bad.

The way it follows the main character, putting all it's trust and hope into him just to be a door holder. It's funny yet sad at the same time.
Well the door closed in the end unlike with just the hand so he probably freed himself now.
In this option the protagonist treats him well, lifts him carefully when he falls to the ground, waits for his time to make it all the way. Of course, the protagonist forces the little guy to open the gate, but the way the game conducts this scene doesn't imply that he stayed there to die. I believe that after the gate closes he is released.

Well, the protagonist at the end of the game didn't die, he was just trapped in that strange "mass of meat". So I think it would be possible for him to be freed, just like he freed the little guy.

I like how they make you think the saw would kill it and the scooping machine would save it, but in reality it was the opposite

And if you _pay attention_ you'll see the environment telling you the truth. The scoop room is full of empty shells, and the saw room has free bodies and shell pieces.

Imagine if the ending, if you saved the creature and at the ending where the parasite tries to attach you, the guy you saved somehow manages to show up and decides to sacrifice himself to get attached so you can leave the whole nightmare?
Would be so cool if a simple decision gave two endings.
I believe this game has more than one ending but nobody discovered it yet

If you have a deeper look, you will notice that this creature and the parasite are from the same "kind".
Some folks say that killing him is a mercy. But considering how much writhes and struggles, it's clear that he wants to live.
It's also implied that he gets free from the door terminal, as the door closes if he's alive but it stays open if you just put his hand there.

I think it's just a normal reaction to things, if you're in pain, it's common to fight back or try to stop it, even if you want to die. Idk though just a thought

Seeing his first few steps was beautiful, he kept on falling down like a 3 year old. But he persisted and finally stood on his feet for the first time.
If we ever get a scorn sequel it would be great to check up on are buddy

Originally this door was probably meant to be operated by at least 2 people, and one person was always meant to be present inside.

If you no clip and look back behind the door after it closes behind you, it reveals that he does get out of the mechanism and walks towards the door and stares in disbelief and waits hopelessly.

You understand that the game is creepy and disgusting. BUT, for some reason, you were very sorry for this creature who is clearly suffering and suffering. Yes! Even in this form, and you sympathize with an unknown being. A subtle detail in the game. Which awakens this feeling of compassion inside.
Empathy is very strong in those who can feel it.

@@chaosclg no matter how you twist it, dude was possessed by a parasitic/symbiotic creature (that may or may not be the previous MC) and fought for possession of the body throughout the whole thing, when he is obviously losing his body he managed to remove it just for it to take the more forceful approach by the end and literally donut-ed him pretty hard so he stops complaining and hand over his body, whatever you make off of the end doesn't make what the "second" MC had to go through any less unlucky, regardless of what they became at the end, even if it's a greater being in the making.

Specially the fact that hes probably becomes a monstrosity after the prologue like the protagonist

I like the details, despite the horrors and getting panicked whenever something happens to it. The hatchling calms down once they see you.

I believe instead of calling it "help/save", " letting it live" or "not to kill it" is more suitable, since we don't know if it's going to survive by itself behind that gate anyway, and the fact the protagonist "freed it" was the cause of its latter suffering. Whichever you choose, you ultimately sacrificed it for yourself to get out.
And thats fine, BUT maybe we gave it a chance to be more than just some battery born to die, maybe he can live out the rest of its miserable life in relative peace or maybe free more of his kind so hes not alone

@@SuperScarab a decade of work man and we get incredibly artwork with huge amount of cut content, I love the premise of this game and what was intended, but it feels like a demo with the amount of content missing.

Well these two choices for me is important, since at the end the main character gets attacked and locked forever in the parasite tree thingy, the little guy is still alive so there is still hope, the main character isn't the last of his people. And hopefully the little guy will reach beyond that portal and maybe end the rule of those parasites
Unfortunately he is not the same as you. He's what is called a "Moldman" and is quite literally used as biological product. Be it food, organs, or limbs. He has almost no higher intelligence and is incapable of caring for himself.
The art book explains a lot of the lore.

"Saving" him is much more effort on your part and not that much better of an outcome. However, you put his fate in his hands. He has a chance, no matter how miniscule it is.
i feel bad for his existence, not because i hate him, but because the way he simply *stands* hurst me mentally with sadness. Imagine how uncomfortable that feels, even if you didn't let him stuck in the door thing, it's not likely he would survive anyways dues to his posture barely letting him walk straight.
Plus he was just born, Imagine fighting the parasites ? he has no chance. For me, even if it was painfull, killing him was the best option.
Also think about the first egg in the puzzle that fell, imagine if the guy there survived the fall, he's stuck there in his egg until he dies.

Basically he's a "Moldmen", what the hell is a Moldmen ? well, basically they are mutilated humanoides bred as bodies to be utilized as material gain (basically they are the equivalent of using wood to build a chair or table, but you use pre-processed people instead), they're not even given the dignity of a name too.
They're just called "Moldmen" because of their processed forms, and their existence is basically pure agony, pain and trauma; They literally have their bodies pressed together and then molded into a package, leaving the remains to dry out into usable nuggets. And they go through this entire process while being alive.
In other words, i was right, the guy you saved is literally in pure state of pain and agony that it might be crueler to leave him alive and suffering. Maybe damming him to a much slower and more painfull death.

I just noticed something with the saw during the destruction of the egg holding it: The saw is going at a sideways angle, meaning if it nicks anything, it's not going to kill him, and at most it'll give him enough time to react and thrash away.
To me it did look like the saw took plenty of chunks out of its back tho
@@liliana.6053 Moldmen are already horribly deformed from essentially being midgets crammed into those cat cradle things long enough for their muscles to atrophy and their spines to bend. they're literally molded people used to act as a reserve of bodyparts with as little muscle as possible to make cutting bits off even easier on the machinery
Honestly, i avoided the saw thinking it would be more a more gruesome death than the spoon thing.

I do find it a bit funny how the not so dangerous looking scoop is the one that kills him and the terrifying sawblade is what saves him.

That might actually be used to remove the contents of "bad eggs". They mightve been able to reuse the shells. Or that scooping machine mightve been made after whatever happened to these creatures. They mightve gotten infested/infected, and these eggs need to be cleared out.

However, it doesn't seem like the Shells are reused in any other capacity either.

It's not about if the guy will live or die in the future, it's if it ever lived, if it even walked, in comparison to his brethren I say this guy had something much better than the comfort of the egg, freedom. Either way is better than what was waiting for him on the other side of the door. I think he was supposed to be turned into the parasite, from the given lore in the artbook their technology is completely biological in nature and the parasite is akin to survival tool, but you're supposed to use the less aggressive tamer creature. Instead it the first scorn guy who is quite angry that he won't be ascending to nirvana cause of an accident
I thought saving him would give me a buddy, but I see now the game is a master in...

The door closed meaning, the creature was released. But, indefinitely locked behind the doors with no one to keep them company, but, possibly it turns out to be able to find others locked up in "Eggs" and releases the others to freedom.
I can't help but feel sorry for that guy. He is a weird mix between disturbing and adorable.
I always help the little guy, i simply love the way he briefly looks to the right while trying to get up for the first time it's so cute 🥺💖
You really can't help but feel bad for this poor guy. He either dies horribly to the giant ice cream scooper or you clamp his hand to a control panel (although it's implied he either dies or escapes afterwards). Just the way he reaches out to you after breaking the top of the shell screams the words "Please, help me"
when you reach the door and it closes he is scripted to leave the switch, also think that the scornguy showed him how to use the key, he has some chances to survive

I strongly believe this world is a representation of the purgatory. At the end we clearly see a hall With a strong light at the end, but the parasite (a representation of the sin) attach to the protagonist's body, making him unworthy to enter the paradise.
The first character in the prologue is the main character/parasite. After the explosion an alien wakes up and we play as an alien.
@@LifeCompanionDogs8083 it means the first protagonist is a human? Was a human? If it is, I don't get why that thing wanted to attach to the alien's body and become a unmovable lump of flesh, that's why I believe the ending is symbolical.

I don't know if being used as a living key could be considered a better alternative. The player character at the beginning of the game isn't exactly kind to the hatchling creature. The way it gets thrown around, forcefully plugged into various machines, and then just left behind and abandoned, indicates to me that the player character sees the hatchling as nothing more than a tool. A means to an end.
Its kind of how humans see wildlife in some instances. Closest example i can think of is how we use wood from living trees. Its been proven trees feel pain or have signals telling them they are receiving damage whether or not they " feel" pain will likely never be known but they definitely " know" they are being damaged and some trees if not all actually send out signals to neighboring trees to let them know something is damaging them... kinda scary if you think about it but many studies have been done on this.
Maybe thats how the parasite sees the player too

@@shanewright344 Oh man I have so many takes it makes my head spin on itself to the point I question even my own thoughts about it, It feels like to every theory theres another theory that counters it and is also just as plausible as the last or next theory down to the bare bones of the game, like where you even are in the first place haha. All I know is I want more, The game is beautifully horrifying
Why our main character is so mean to this poor little guy? He doesn't help him walk, he basicaly shoves him around and drags him around like a doll, and even if we decide to kill him, we still do this in very inhuman way, just stab him in the head or do anything beside fucking scooping him, there is no need to be cruel or uncaring towards him

Funny and ironic that big scoop looking thing is the thing that murderous him coldly, while the giant bloody buzzsaw is the thing that frees and saves him.

There is an orthopedic saw that cut the cast without damaging the patient, so the saw means freedom from the Egg Cast!

This heavily reminds me of Portal 2's Cores. Imagine this poor fella, as one of the cores from Portal 2. They are very similar in terms of mechanics, this suffering Fella cant walk, is trapped, and relies on the mobileness of other people.
If you look at Wheatly, he never complains. He never thinks of why he is different from other robots. He infact seems completely Oblivious to his own state. *EXCEPT FOR WHEN HE GAINS CONTROL OF GLADOS*
If you look at this Scorn Fella, he cant move, he cant complain. But you can tell hes struggling due to obvious reasons.
Scorn and Portal feature the same feeling, "Why is everyone so crude looking, yet I am in full control" even Glados, the most menacing beast of Portal 2. Cant pose much of a threat as she cant even move. I havent seen the enemies in Scorn yet, but I am sure they are large. And agile

I wish this game had more endings because th e main ending denies any purpose of what we been doing the whole game.
Feels like saving the guy just adds to his suffering.
Too late, but I imagine a post credit scene where that guy somehow managed to get to the portal place and three options:
1-He sees our protagonists in that flesh tree, now inmobile and unable to do anything (if thats the case), then the hatchling guy passes without any problem and in the end enters to the portal, making a cliffhanger to a 2nd part.
2-if the coccon theory is true, when the guy arrives, it sees a huge Pool of blood and flesh in the Beggining of the stairs, telling us that there's a secret mutation now and it crussed to the portal, so without knowing it, he passes.
3-a new protagonist is born, passes around all the travel our previous guys passed, and founds the guy, but now he choses to take him, and the two arrive to the portal.

@@bimates2690 it's about a lot of things, very broadly it's about a lot of psychological concepts and inherent human desires and objectives. Namely, life, death, sex, suffering and pleasure.
I agree. I believe the devs took 8 yrs to make this game and just couldn't secure the " world" they wanted with the budget and its kinda sad we only received a small portion of their dream.

The main character is actually that guy, and he makes it past where the other mc did without getting a parasite, the other person cleared the way for him and he made it

This is a very interesting game, I’ve never heard of it until I watched this I really want to play it has a gore, horror and creepy backstory to it, very interesting game.
It dosnt have a backstory, or a storyline, you just get thrown at this world

Beside killing or saving Snozzle Wozzle, the game looks to be lacking a Lot of challenges and achievements. It has Fantastic Art creation development but beside that.... the gameplay is really lacking and empty and this makes me not want to buy the game.
It’s the type of game one can only play once for the experience. After that it’s fairly boring
The game is completely free on Xbox Gamepass, so if you have one already it probably won't hurt to give it a shot solely for its atmosphere and aesthetics

This thing that we play as is just stone hearted like the way he grabs that guy from the back and the arm and then forcefully putting his hand in that key thing
It's so cool that the monster helping the main character but as the same way he stucked at that open gate goofy door
I kind of like the way this game looks I don't think I'll ever get to play it anytime soon but it reminds me of my old PC game from back in the day and we don't get much of these anymore
