  • Have you ever wondered how your luggage travels to your plane after leaving the ticket counter at Sea-Tac Airport? The answer, it turns out, is a long and winding path on a part of the 9.3 mile conveyor belt system.

    1:49 Well, that would explain why these screening systems weren’t in _Toy Story 2_ .

      I guess even if those systems were in place, the toys would drop dead to avoid suspicion. Then once they're past that, continue rescuing Woody.

    1:56 - the white dots you're seeing are actually from the radiation of the X-ray machine. The radiation can alter charges on the sensor, which results in those artifacts.

    Why don't they update this jurassic system? Like putting a QR code and security guard to watch people are getting the right ones when the belt bring them? That's why they not only get lost, but often easily stolen. It's like they are still 50 years in the past.
    Like they prefer dealing with complaints everyday...maybe they don't care?

    • @emerson3853
      @emerson3853 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Like they don't care if they destroy it, mine was twice broken...and I don't even travel very often..and when you go to get your suitcase anyone can take yours from the belt and disappear...like the codes are for nothing...there is no control over who is taking which baggage... it's ridiculous in 2023.

    Why in hell are all the bags upside down? Those baggage handlers should show a little respect and place them properly on the belt.

    • @ClassicalRips
      @ClassicalRips 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      poker slob Unfortunately they just don't have the time to make sure each one is rightside up. These workers are timed on how long it takes them to handle each bag, and if they spend too much time on each bag they get fired. This is because they only have a certain amount of time to make sure everyones' bags get on the plane. As it is, checked baggage is the slowest part of flying, all of the passengers will usually be on board and ready to go well before the baggage is. Any extra time spent on these bags would only make the wait longer, profits lower, and costs even higher. What is all boils down to is that people who fly are impatient and want to be done as quickly and cheaply as possible.

    • @pokerslob8175
      @pokerslob8175 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Classical Rips Alright, that makes total sense actually. I'm not so upset anymore. As a matter of fact I think they should be tossing that luggage a little quicker. People got places they need to go.

    • @erik3423
      @erik3423 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Classical Rips Actually you are wrong, the workers who throw the bags on the belt are not timed those would be the ramp agents and tug drivers that are timed. The workers behind the ticket counter just have to make sure your bag is on the right belt. The reason they are upside down is called "bag courtesy" when they put them wheels down the wheels can get caught between conveyor spacing, or the wheels will keep spinning the opposite way the belt is turning getting nowhere and causing a jam down the line. I mean there is a sense of urgency because people are impatient but if that was all it was about then they would just set them all standing upright. There are miles and miles of conveyors and different machinery that your bag must pass through before reaching the plane, so that's why they do it like that.
