For anyone watching this video, mine was actually the top left of the chip. Hope this saves someone time! Best way to identify the chip's orientation is by looking for the "dot" and go on the opposite side of it. So in my case, the dot was on the bottom right.
I have a T430s with that EEPROM's pin 1 mounted in the "bottom right corner", using your location description. In my case, then, I believe I would short together pins 5 & 6, or DI & CLK, in the "upper left corner".
