I've used this to good effect before but we were calling it the Scorsese fast dolly. The scenes with narrow streets with the walls looked amazing. Definitely stealing that!
The fake one looks better than I thought it would (the one with the bloke looking scared), that seems to be a good solution if your handheld and bicycle shots turn out too wobbly, and if a car isn't an option.
large bamboo board like loaded dervish sama and nice fat wheels such as flywheels or other soft wheels over 80mm basically eliminate all vibration. If trucks are squeeky just put scrub some candlewax (or just a candle) against the bushing seats. use hard bushings like around 90a (useless for cruising on it but they're easy enough to switch out in a minute so i usually switch out my standard cruising bushings only when i do this method.) you need one of those tripods with a base foundation on the bottom of it to work, or just ducttape something solid to the bottom of the tripod and put it on there, that also works fine. it works pretty effectively, i guess you already need to own some very specific longboard equipment for it to be viable but hey, it works.
how about using DSLR camera? if using it handheld but we have to move the focus ring and also the zoom ring in the same, what am I suppose to do? any trick for DSLR?
i've never had a straight answer on that either! I think in about 2011 a rocker zoom was created to fit to the side of a DSLR which could control the zoom and focus. Unfortunately it was never released on the market.
Adam Tallon Apparently you can fashion a budget version by using one of those rubber things that are supposed to help you open jars etc. Haven't tried this myself, due to lack of availability of rubber thingies :-)
@@Davi.Abraham.Millman It's a canon XL1, and if you need anything higher than standard definition, I would look elsewhere. Otherwise though, these sorts of news cameras usually have a decent shotgun mic and a flexible zoom lens for not a lot of money. (Dealing with minidv tapes in 2022 kinda sucks tho, they're getting harder to find)
Neat ideas with the tripod counter weight and the bike.

Good job, that must have taken a long time to make.
Holy crap why does it have so many different names??
Maybe because so many different people think they invented it?
I concur.
Wikipedia says that the first GoPro saw the light in 2004. This mas discovered it a few years before.

Adam Tallon ah too bad. I wish I am rich enough to get a good modification for my DSLR :(
