- We return to Dollywood for a second day where we check out some of the rides and attractions we didn't get time to experience on day one. This includes on ride footage from the Dollywood Express, an absolutely stunning steam train that takes park guests on a 5 mile journey through the park. Along with that we share our reviews from both Daredevil Falls and Smoky Mountain River Rampage, the two main water rides at Dollywood.
We also continue to capture the wonderful atmosphere at this absolutely stunning theme park. Along with that we take a look at the merchandise on offer, share more off ride footage of the coasters in action and much more! Plus we head to the Dollywood Dreammore Resort and check out this wonderful hotel that's located a short drive away from the theme park!

Thanks Shawn for your vlog,s have to admit that my favourite ride was the car one you're got a pov of I love the one in Blackpool with the pedal to make it move yourself like a go-kart not allowing people like you doing pov is the parks only downside .
Just FYI Shawn? Your average steam engine needs 4-6 hours to build steam before they can start operations, depending on the size and design of the boiler. There is also about 4 hours of maintenance in the evening before they are laid up for the night.
Wow, I love roller coasters, but The Dollywood Express steam train looks amazing and the whistle part gave me goosebumps. Definitely my number 1 ride I want to try.
It's awesome and my favourite at the park!
You are a theme park enthusiast and a chicken tender enthusiast. Lol.
Definitely!
Shout out to Alex, good on ya for putting your health first. Gotta rest up & eat well.
Yeah lose a one in a life trip. After a week and going to work everyday with steel toe caps running a warehouse your feet feels a hell of alot better trust me my big toe was split and one of the worst agonys i felt but buy a size bigger vans. Cotton wool round your toe and lifes peachy. Mega dramatic comes into mind sorry but many would have been there everyday
Good to see everyone looking refreshed. Surprised no mention was made of the solo steam whistle performance on Cinderella Engine. It was spectacular with sharps, flats and overtones. The guy operating it is an artist. Listen to it again and you’ll be impressed
It really is incredible!
That locomotive was truly beautiful. One of many reasons why I want an expansion to train simulator for theme park transport rides.
Great vlog, I really love the footage from firechaser express, it looks amazing.
Such a fantastic family coaster
The beauty of Dollywood: A MASSIVE arrow looper in the middle of dense woodland surrounded by mountains 😍
It sure is perfect!
I like the rustic feel of Dollywood. Looks like a Disneyland inspired park.. right down to the strangely familiar flying elephant spinning ride and the “punny” railroad. Except it’s one giant Frontierland instead of a bunch of smaller lands.
Glad your feeling better Shawn..Lovin the shorts and all white steps (shoes) Brett!!! 👍 Absolutely love the Smokies..went every year as a child , then over into Cherokee North Carolina. Some of my best memories as a child came out of Tennessee, Clinch mountain look out , watching my dad feed a cub that had came down out of the mountains..priceless
Thanks for sharing your memories!
Can’t wait to chill and watch this!
We hope you enjoyed the vlog!
My guess the reason why the dolly wood express opens later than the rest of the park is that being a steam railway, it takes a long time to prepair a steam locomotive for it's days. To prepair a steam locomotive takes from 1 to 2 hours. that will including insuring that there is water in the boiler, and plenty in the tanks, or Tender if it is a tender engine. Firing the locomotive up with coal, or oil depending on weather the locomotives used in dolly wood are oil fired or not, making sure that all the moving parts are greesed and lubricated with oil to ensure that they work properly, not to mention polishing the brass work to make the locomotives look clean. A steam locomotive takes a lot of preparation, which is probably why most theme parks use diesel locomotives with steam locomotive outlinings. only the Disney parks and Bush gardens tamper and of course some of the parks you've been too use real steam locomotives. My self I prefer real steam locomotives to diesel locomotives with steam locomotive outlinings, but that's probably why most theme parks who have railways tend not to use real steam locomotives. laber intensive.
Thanks for the information!
Loving the vlogs! Thanks for sharing your adventures with us all :)
Wow! Not getting a tshirt of your 1,000th coaster?! That seems to say alot about what you really think about Lightning Rod.
I may get one on a future visit to the park!
Great follow up vlog Shawn, that steam train is awesome.
Yess, i missed the happy and positive Shawn! Awesome vlog!😁
I felt much better here!
I stayed at the hotel in 2016. One of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at. Great view of the fireworks at night from the pool. The food is fantastic and the shuttle service to the park is convenient. Highly recommend staying there
So happy you got to have two days at this amazing park
Really nice vlog ! Beautiful Steam Train ! Thank you !
Yey!! We've got the old TPW back! I know it's hard to put maximum effort in when your feeling pants and i know you did your best but the contrast in tone and excitement between this vlog and the start of these Usa vlogs is very noticeable. Your reviews and info for theme parks is second to none but as you mention you are theme park enthusiasts and it's great to finally see that true entusiasm coming through.
Thank you, we loved Dollywood and it was great to visit such a bucket list park!
The merchandise looks great
Another great vlog!
Much better vibe in today's vlog. Can't wait until you guys get to the east coast on this trip. Keep up the great work!
Thank you, them vlogs are not that far away!
Looks like you had better weather for Day 2, I think that does improve the experience, BPB so much better when the sun shines! I think I'd love Dollywood as I'm not so into thrill rides, all looks quite gentle lol Dollywood Express was fab!
I love 💕 your channel and all the content you bring to the viewers. It feels like we’re actually there! So cool 😎. I have to be a mother figure now Shaun hope I spelled your name correctly. You need to drink some orange juice and eat some veggies to kick that chest cold. You cannot survive on chicken tenders and fries. Lol.
Thank you for your support!
Alex needs a rest. 😳😳😳. Great video again. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Ride on the Dollywood Express looks and sounds fantastic!
It was wonderful to ride it!
What a pretty park! Enjoying the vlogs as always!
Whens the 3rd travel vlog coming up mate? Also, it when you have uploaded the vlogs I would really love to see a final recap video, especially with a breakdown of the costs? Keep it up 😁
Can't wait to see him rank the coasters hopefully.
The third travel vlog is coming up in the next few days!
@@ThemeParkWorldwide nice! Keep up the good work bro
Day two looked much more fun I’m pleased to see. This is the hotel we’re staying at so it’s nice to see it on camera. Looking forward to your next vlog
You'll love the hotel Mark!
It’s more of a ‘family’ park than others you have visited. It looks beautiful ! ❤️
Looks like you did that right. First day get all of the coasters and second day rerides and enjoy the ambiance. I work for a BMW dealership and we are very much enjoying Alex’s Audi joke
Trains are a theme park must have!! It's shocking Shanghai Disneyland doesn't have a railroad. We have a small park up this way called silver wood. It's in Idaho and they have an amazing steam train that travels quite a distance into the forest and back
That was a specific request by the Chinese government. They believed the railroad was too American and didn’t want that symbol within the park... it’s also why there’s no Main Street USA or Frontierland; essentially they stripped everything American about Disneyland. It’s a shame Disney agreed to these terms.
But they do have Tron. Frontier town theming means nothing to the average Chinese.
AMagicProduction I had never heard that! Interesting
Hi guys another great vlog loved the way you all had a good laugh together boys back on form . Xxx
Thank you, felt much better here!
Just found your channel today and subbed. Loved the first day vlog of Dollywood. I’ve been going there since I was a child. Was just going to say many years ago the carousel area that is a dead end used to go down to the fair area instead of dead end. There used to be a small log flume ride down there where the disco is and the other couple of flat rides sit together. That tiny building at the edge of the path, near the carousel, used to be a drying station after getting off the log flume. Look forward to watching more of your videos. Cheers!
Thanks for the information!
The strange dead end circular plaza was the original park entrance hence why its so well themed and seems strange so it would have made sense many moons ago. The train was and is the main attraction for Dollywood, a trip into the smoky's and before the local area was less constructed it would have seemed far more like a trip up the mountains. Great vlog, glad you feel better.
We loved it on day two, thanks for the information!
time to watch second part from this pretty nice "little" park :)
Awsome vlog and a awesome park
Love the steam train.
Shawn the back part of the park was added in the past 10 years. Before that it was Tennessee Tornado and The Fire in the Hole coaster. A flooded mine similar to Silver Dollar city was removed back on the late 90's along with Grandfather's Mansion.
Thanks for the information
Highlights of this Vlog. Singing Johnny B Good on the cars.. would love to visit there someday...😃
What a wonderful vlog 😊
The train whistle😍😍😍😍😍
Another amazing park, love your videos!!!
When I was in Scotland on a holiday a couple of years ago I went on a steamtrain as well in Aviemore, it wasn't a long trip, but a steamtrain has that something extra. Great vlog again Shawn, and btw, you sound here like you did all the pubs in the UK...….well done mate, thumbs up!
Thanks for watching!
Have been loving the vlogs recently keep up the good work 👍
Thanks!
I am from Tennessee so I love Dollywood being my home park. Is that not the best train ride in any park. Glad to see y'all had a great time.
Great Day Two Vlog from Dollywood. Loving the content from your USA 🇺🇸 road trip so far
Thanks!
U need to get Charlotte on that water ride at Dollywood 😂😂 we know how much she loves them
Looked fab ! My fav sliver dollar city so far !
Merch amazing !
Hyper coaster maybe would make it ?
Would of loved to see water park sure u get it next time !
Thanks so much for all these videos
Love you guys
Leanne from the northeast ! X
Thank you for watching!
There aren't many parks that had locomotives that are actually designed for freight/passenger work outside of a theme park. Knotts Berry Farm and Cedar Point are the only two that come to mind. But they aren't anywhere near the level of Dollywood. Dollywood's engine is HUGE, and you can tell that it is the signature ride of the park. Which in Cedar Point and Knotts, it's not.
Thanks for the information!
This was a very enjoyable, relaxed vlog. It's too bad that you couldn't spend more time at some of the other parks and chill out for a bit without feeling rushed.
Definitely, we wish we could of!
Catching up on these vlogs while working and as soon as I heard the drumming on the pans I was "oh boy Shawns gonna have a blast"
Thanks for watching!
YAYAYAYAY
ANOTHER VIDEO
I love watching this channel, keep it up😁
Thank you!
Another great vlog, another great park thanks for sharing.
Thanks Peter
Thank you for the vlog! Amazing classic park. Regars from Spain!
Thanks for watching!
Big thumbs up on this one!
Thank you!
Hey everyone just to say I love dollywood! Amazing place I gotta say I love this place more then anything It goes by so fast that I don’t wanna leave! By far the wild eagle is my favorite roller coaster also when I get a house ima move closer to Dollywood! So yeah I’m in love with this place! Have to say I enjoyed it much more then six flags or Disney world
The park makes me wanna run home and fire up planet coaster....immersive
Do you play planet coaster on a pc, laptop, phone, iPad!
?
@@keiraneven9034 pc
Cool I’ll be sure to check it out
These videos in pigeon forge Tennessee are getting me all worked up, I used to go to that park and pigeon forge in general for years seince I was a little kid and we haven't gone in about three years and seince that time my family has split up a bit ,it's crazy to see how much has changed in such little time (but that happens alot in pigeon forge, always changing)
Sorry to hear that. Pigeon Forge sure is awesome!
Glad your second day was better! Not sure I understand the layout complaint though: it's basically a circle! I think Over Texas, Over Georgia, St. Louis, Knoebels, Hershey, and ESPECIALLY Silver Dollar City have much more complicated, bizarre layouts!
They said their next potential coaster could be 1 of 3 models: B&m hyper, Mack ultimate spinner like time traveler at SDC, or some indoor launched coaster. Personally I'd like to see a b&m hyper coaster because most of Dollywood's current coasters focus on ejector airtime, whereas most b&m hypers focus on floater air. For wildwood grove I would say an indoor launch coaster would work well if they could develop a storyline and have some great theming to go along with it. Right now Pete Owens their head of construction said that it could come as early as 2021. So I'm excited it's my homepark.
Really enjoy your vlogs keep up the good work!
Thanks!
Be interesting to see a video on the costs of this trip. Looking forward to the 3rd travel vlog 👍
Thanks for your suggestion!
I'd love to see the costs, and maybe tricky to make but a bit if a guide on how you plan and book stuff. I'd be lost planning a simple trip out there lol.
How about a contest for your followers to guess overall cost? As a prize you could convince Brett to offer up his inflatable mattress!
Somewhat less delirious than yesterday. You don't like cinnamon bread? Baffling!
Kudos to Alex for finding something to eat besides chicken tenders. Alex! Alex! Alex!
wild eagle is my 3rd fav wing coaster also one of the 3 I ever been on
Glad you liked the train!
There is live entertainment by the area where the splash battle used to be. When I was there there was a guy playing the banjo.
They got rid of river battle because of the extremely low ridership. It got to the point where in 2017 on crowded days, you’d be the only person on the ride and it’s really hard to get wet on those when no one else is riding it.
I absolutely love dollywood,I live here in Tennessee and it’s one of my all time favorite amusement parks aside from Universal Studios islands of adventure
INefariousDrxpI _ your so lucky! Butt I can’t wait I’m going for Christmas! Make sure again to ride the wild eagle best ride ever
I believe lighting rod was mainly down in its first year after that it improved allot
Great video. Thanks for posting this. Have a nice day.
Thanks!
That aesthetically looks like the most beautiful theme park in the world
It’s gorgeous
I love Dollywood. I was at Dollywood back in June and wasn't bad. But had to deal with Rain/storm
They’ve been talking about an interactive dark ride for Wildwood Grove
YESSS
I don’t think Dollywood is small, but it is weird how you have the front part of the park with not many roller coasters, literally the only roller coaster at the front of the park is Lightning Rod and then you have the back section where most of the coasters and rides are all right next to each other.
*Fish appears
Shawn: "tHeMe PaRk WoRldwIDe on yoUTUbE"
"Popeye Situation"
I very much so get this reference lol
9:47 min OMG the T-Shirt for me! and on 10:20 min the sign to my heaven!!!
My most anticipated vlogs are kings dominion and Busch gardens Williamsburg cause there my home parks 😆
Them vlogs are not that far away now!
Considering you got on loads of stuff for day one, I was surprised the park still did a rainy day return for this vlog... not bad to be fair 😂.
It was good of them!
Awesome amazing videos the whole trip so far. Is there any chance you got footage of Alex on the train? It would be great to see his reaction
Thank you, I didn't film Alex on the train unfortunately
Here's a random question for you Shawn to spice up your comment browsing: Which Vlog are you most proud of from a footage/editing perspective?
Thanks for asking! I really enjoy putting all of the vlogs together however the ones that include a great mix of on and off ride footage are my favourites to edit!
Where that fake grass was in the carnival type area was where the veggie tales rollercoaster ride was
i think a RMC like lightning rod would be great at thorpe park but the only thing is the don't have the hills so much
Knowing Lightning Rods reliability and Wicker Mans reliability it would only be open one day per season!! 🤣🤣🤣
That steam train was amazing. Will you be uploading just a pov of that on it's own in future
Sadly not as I didn't have time to record the full train ride
A better day 2 vlog Shawn thanks
Thanks for watching!
That wildwood grove area really needs some more audio by the looks of things, it’d do wonders to help with the immersion along with some more trees around the area like you said
Definitely, audio really does make a theme park!
I think i like Silver Dollar City more but both are great parks.
I’m headed to GSMNP next week for four days. I’m trying to decide whether we should go to Dollywood. It looks great and I’ve never been there. Is it worth the cost (as well as the time away from the National Park)?
Go for it, you'll have a great day
Hi Shawn hope ur doing great
do you prefer lightning rod or twisted colossus?
Twisted Colossus
My daily fix :)
When are you visiting The Netherlands to ride Untamed in Walibi Holland? And which parks are you visiting that trip to The Netherlands?
Think hes there at the end of this month
We're visiting next week and we'll be positing details later on social media!
Just saw loggers leap queue line repainting today and station building new roof possible Retheme ?!😱 #loggersleap
It's for Fright Nights!
Oh well got my hopes up
Hi Shawn in 1995 we visited Dollywood as part of a road trip 'We are interested in the American Civil War so aswell as visiting the battlefields we went to Dollywood. We don't remember much apart from the rapids and steam train and the lovely scenery' I think we stayed in Gatlinburg , did you visit Busch Gardens in Williamsburg we have been there twice in 1994 and 2000. jim and sue
Our BGW vlog is coming up!
Fabulous park shame we've not got a Dollywood in the UK I love western style park's.
check out Knotts berry farm in california :)
@@rexrabbiteer What? Knott's isn't anything like this. It's an amusement park.
Ben Holland Knott’s is considered a theme park, not an amusement park. It’s unique as it’s the only one in the Cedar Fair chain that is.
@@jonathanflynn7025 It's not really though is it? Granted it might be more than the other CF chain parks like you mentioned but it's still not a true theme park for me. Both Busch gardens parks, Dollywood and Silver Dollar City are the best theme parks in US outside of Disney n Universal for me.
Ben Holland I don’t think it’s in the same class as the parks you listed, but it does offer a large variety of shows, far more theming, especially in the ghost town section and overall themed activities then a traditional amusement park. Given that, it’s also self branded as a theme park as well.
Did Alex go round the museum at all??
Did you do the weird slide thing?
It was taken out not to long ago.
Removed sadly!
I enjoyed this vlog, paricularly the first half before Alex arrived. It seems back to your usual style of picking out details with positivity/energy.
JHC Fan Don't you like Alex ? ?
He is ok, I just feel he is playing up to the camera a lot. I expect a lot of people enjoy his humour, which I do in small amounts, it's just the flow of the vlog seems a lot more natural when he is not around.
Thanks for your feedback!
JHC Fan I personally liked him in the vlogs I feel his humour ads to the experience and coupled with shawn it makes compulsive viewing. Obviously everyone is entitled to there opinion. Xx
