Luis Paez he’s making a point about the whole video being in portrait orientation. It’s an unconventional orientation but maybe the creator did that so people can watch without rotating their phone to view his video(s).
This is a great helpful video. I just started IPhone photography with an IPhone XR, super-wide lens, fish-eye lens, and DJI Osmo Mobile 3. I’m hoping to improve my shots with time, by using the tips in your videos. Thank you so much for sharing!
Emil, oh wow, great tips! While I’m doing quite well with day photography, my night photos always have been kind of hit or miss. Now I finally see what I’ve been doing wrong. It’s as simple as not holding the phone correctly! A regular compact camera is a lot easier to hold than the my iPhone Xmax. I will try your technique for my next night photo shoot. Thanks again!
Super video, Emil! I've learned so much from your IPhone Academy and from your TH-cam videos. You're a super teach and I really owe so much of my photography skills to you! Super job !

I've learned from all your videos, Emil, and appreciate your sharing so generously your knowledge. I would have signed up for your I-Phone Academy except that I just can't feature editing on my I-phone. When I edit photos, I always do it on my desktop. I've just used the apple editing program, but I see how much more the apps you've showed me can do. If you offer an editing course for desktop, I'd take it. And would welcome suggestions from others....
Hello love the videos! The adjustments you make in the camera are influenced by the overall IPhone brightness settings. What is the proper overall brightness setting you use?
@@iPhone_Photography_School If shooting at night, that would mean the screen would be darker when you make photo adjustments. Therefore, you might go too bright on in-camera adjustments. I think I would leave brightness at 50% all the time.
Emil's program is awesome. If you're interested in learning more about iPhone photography, and photography in general, I highly recommend it. And no, I'm not an affiliate and I've paid for 3 different programs and gifted several others myself. Just do it.

hi, this was a very useful video. Can you tell me which lightroom app you used as there seems to be lots in the app store. They mostly seem to be for editing photos. Thank you :)
Thanks for another great video Emil. Your clear, easy to understand, voice makes them a pleasure to watch. Any reason why you use Portrait mode for your videos?
I like the CameraPixels camera app because it always displays White Balance (WB), ISO, Exposure Value (EV), Shutter Speed (S), and Normalized Focus Distance (F). The app allows manual control of various combinations of all five settings, and it will automatically set WB as AWB, ISO, S, and F as AF. With all five quantities displayed, I never have to guess or estimate their values, which increases my chances of taking better photos.
Thank you Emil for sharing this wonderful video..i can now adapt it the people who are asking me taking their photos with their iphone!!tip for me is i always making sure then lens is always clean smudge free!😁

The first photo where you suggest that the lamp lights up the subject..won’t that bright light take our attention away from the building? I know my teacher said that our eyes always want to lean towards the brightest subject in a photo which is why composition is important

My Iphone XS Max always has a problem in lowlight, there is a green dot/square, a ghost-light reflection appears especially on street lamps... do you experience the same?
We haven't experienced this case. I checked reviews of the iPhone XS Max for videography and it looks fine. Here's one: th-cam.com/video/9Nfvl3NLsDc/w-d-xo.html
@@iPhone_Photography_School you can see what he is talking about on your video 2:02 on the left side you can clearly see the green reflection of lamppost. It's always challenging to remove it while taking pics on iphone.
It is due to the gap between the lens and the glass covering the cameras. Common problem with iPhones. Yes it is annoying to get rid of it in some cases.
Seeing as iPhone got the iPhone X which as I’m sure you all know has OLED display and because OLED displays can give really amazing deep dark inky blacks that when I take a nighttime photo or a photo in the dark I always like to take the advantage of OLED black by increasing the black point also BRAGGING intended
