We're from Vermont and used to look forward to summer vacation in Wells or Old Orchard Beach but overcrowding, insane traffic and frustrating lack of parking has ruined any enjoyment in summer months. We now book a couple of nights at Lafayette in mid October. Good memories though. Thanks for making these videos.

Thank you for sharing your experience. October is one of the best months in Maine in our opinion!

Wait, what ?!? Did you say $13500.00 a week?!? Really enjoy y’all’s videos and find them informative! We’re new to summer village (only people from New Mexico). Loving it but 👎 beach access (parking) with 4boys under 4 yrs. That drive to hannafords is crazy but must say it is a great place ! Very safe, clean town. Two years owners and contacted asking if we’ll sale. We never considered a lake house 🤔 but maybe we should.

Yes, $13500.00 a week. Some get as much as $20K/week these days. You have to know the area and high rollers want homes with specific amenities. I prefer living on a lake and more inland as we live now. It was to cold for me on the beach. Don't get me wrong, it was beautiful but, I just prefer fresh water and more land.

I’ve lived in Wells for 60 years, always wondered when the beach houses would get destroyed or lifted up.

ha ha, you were correct. We see many houses getting raised on the beach and marsh these days. Some streets like Days Lane are getting so they flood nearly every month.

I would move back to Wells for the right property but, our 100+ acres in Sanford is right on a small spring fed pond and we love it. Can't live in every community at the same time... Thanks for the comment.
