When I was a teen, I tried, bought and returned countless keyboards... I saved up for months to buy a Korg Triton Extreme keyboard when they first came out to have choirs and strings like the keyboard player in Damnation And A Day...only to be disappointed... Finally 20 years later to find out they were real. Whew. When I was young, i really thought their keyboard player did it all... HAHAHA

the orchestra is one the main reason damnation may be my favourite COF album. cheap keyboards were part of the original COF sound, but in the more recent ones it's keyboard trying to sound realistic, but samples never quite get there. also the production, on damnation is not as "hyped", especially vocals.

To be fair, Martin used some pretty decent keyboards on Midian including Korg, Roland, and E-Mu racks, but I agree that new cof albums trying to imitate the orchestra on keyboards & vstis sound a bit poor and kinda lame
