We are a homesteading, homeschooling family of 7. Due to recent events (job loss/career change, health issues, rising food costs, etc.) we are having a hard time making ends meet despite our best efforts at frugality. So we are tapping into our local food banks to help us feed our family. Come along as I show you what we are blessed with, what we add to it via grocery store and garden, and how I use it all to nourish our bodies.

I'm devastated for your friend! I'm not surprised that someone who accommodates everyone would be slighted this way. Someone was jealous of her people skills. Great haul none the less!

So much to say about this video. First, I’m SO sorry to hear about your friend. It is disgusting that happened to her as she seemed to be such a loving, caring, and supportive person that spread so much love and light. I hope she is able to find another similar position and continue to help others. Second, we all understand life is crazy and you don’t have to apologize. You’ll reemerge when things slow down. Finally, I’m a public school STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, math) teacher and if I ever were to see a roll of paper that size for that price, I’d buy the heck out of it! So many possibilities. We’ve been collecting brown grocery bags so the kids can draw/stamp/color/ paint on the plain sides and wrap their parent’s Christmas gifts.

I am so glad that you and your husband decided to take a stand for that woman losing her job. I am exactly in the same predicament as she hust lost my husband and also run a pantry honestly its kept me sane.

I can relate just needing a little bit of help with groceries. I’ve been going to food banks for the past couple years and they’ve been life changing. I’m not poor but I do have a chronic medical condition that is expensive to maintain with all my medical equipment and medication. I like seeing your food bank haul videos. Our Heavenly Father is watching over your friend and will open a door for her that will be spectacular and will deal with those who were unfair to her. Of course you do what is on your heart...but listen to that wee small whisper that says it's OK to still go to this pantry ❤ you are such a sweetheart 😊

Sorry about your friend that was not nice at all I will pray for her. I totally understand Christmas chaos I have been so busy too I can't wait until after new years when we can just chill out and breathe a little. I also agree people need to quit being so mean in the comments so many youtubers are getting so many negative comments and it's just not necessary if everyone would be kind the world would be a better place. I'm so sorry for your friend but glad that she has people supporting her at this time. I really wish we had pantries like this here in the UK where I live because I know many people who could really do with the help. ❤

I’m sorry about your friend and the timing is absolutely terrible. I’m also glad she has a great support system. That said there are always 2 sides to every story and we don’t know for certain all of the factors that may have played into the church’s decision. Hugs to you and prayers for all involved
Sorry for your friend, but they have rules to follow, and it sounds like she may not have followed the rules to treat everyone the same by making exceptions to the rules.
I know more information that i don't feel comfortable sharing. But yes, there are always two sides. ❤️
I'm sorry about your friend being let go but I can understand helping at a food pantry myself it's not fair to the others that have to stand in line with children or even the elderly and I'm sure people got upset and that might be why she was let go

I paid 14 dollars for those exact chicken breast at Walmart about a week ago. I'm going to a food pantry Thursday (Dec.21). So sorry about the woman in the story.

I think you're right about Christians can be very mean. I will say this God knows what she going thought and his plan may be God's has better plan for her life. See many churches do mean things I just shake my head when I see this am 78 years old I don't get some people but I do know God's Grace will see her thought this hard time. I will pray for your lady friend.

This is so unfair to the lady who ran the food bank and did it so well. The fact that she just lost her husband and now the loss of her job where she truly cared about the people. That is happening every where no matter what job you are and it is scary. I am so sorry.😢
Do you have a Salvation Army when you live? If you have one in your area. Called them up to see if they have a food pantry. Where I live, the Salvation Army has a food pantry. I went there onetime and the food I received was good. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Hi I'm so sorry about what happened to your friend and that is so wrong and that makes me mad too she lost her husband and I'm sure she feels so alone and running the food pantry is a way for her to talk to people and I know she hugged everyone who came in and the other volunteers working there and being around others is a just a way for her to know she is not alone and being by yourself is so hard and she has helped so many families and that includes all of you 😊could you please tell her I'm praying and thinking about her that would so much to me and I'm sure she will want to see you all outside the food pantry and just keep seeing her and thankyou so much for loving her she sounds like my grandma and she would do anything to help anyone and she never expected anything back my grandparents gave alot to their community and they helped alot of people and animals I mean stray cats mostly
I will keep this wonderful woman in my prayers

Sorry about your friend that is sad that she was trying to help “everyone” and make it smoother running and they didn’t like it. If more people stop going because they can’t just sit and wait like that their eyes will be opened and they might also loose some more volunteers in the process too.
Great haul! I could almost feed my family of 4 on that for a whole week(if I had nothing in my house a small $25-$30 shopping trip would round it out).
I haven’t made a video in months because of health issues I have been having and now that I have finally gotten one of them fixed I am thinking up some ideas for videos(mostly conversation ones).

I was wondering is there any other food bank that you can go to? But your friend is a kind Christian who wants those of you who have gone to her, will get the help that is available. I will pray for your friend, it is so unfair when people act unfair to others. I am 72 yrs. old and when l retired from my part-time retail cash in er job, l went to church food pantries. Now, God has provided so wondrous that l no longer need the extra help so families such as yours and others can utilize the much needed assistance. You should delete any and
every negative and hateful comment. People can be thoughtless and cruel and shame on them. You continue to do what you need to do to take care of hubby and children and just keep tossing out the sour apples in the bunch.I am glad all is well, l have been a little concerned like a worried parent over my TH-cam friends such as your channel. I'm sorry you're friend was let go for trying to help families out. I know they cannot make special rules for people but really, waiting 2-3 hours is a lot for anybody. That church should have made adjustments to keep the wait time down to an hour for everybody and the problem never would have happened.

Sounds like you were getting "special" treatment from your friend.
In some ways, yes. We were not the only ones. She allowed others to shop early as well. Like a few people who physically couldn't sit that long and some who's schedules didn't work for that day. It also reduced the number of people coming on the regular pantry day so those people didn't have as long a wait. But I can see how from the outside it might look unfair.
Could be the reason why they let her go if someone above found out. They have rules for things like this especially giving more than they should give

It’s ok. I get that with life. Just want to send hugs and love to her. Churches can be arseholes and deserve to go to hell etc. in my church, st Thomas in Salisbury, uk has a doom painting with the bishops and others going to hell - you are welcome to check it out.

I would make a complaint absolutely disgusting behaviour what suppose to be a Christian organization I can understand your frustration and I would support your friend but don't make yourself struggling to make ends meet has I think your dear friend would be upset but I do support how u both feel but keep your chin up but those people will have to answer for there cruel behaviour has my mum used to say God acts in mysterious ways and they will get there dues all keep safe xxxx
Maybe she was let go for not following the rules? But there should be exceptions for large families.
I know the reasons why. Just didn't want to over share as it isn't my story to tell. If that makes sense.
I help at a church food pantry we are not allowed to make exceptions for larger families every family gets the same so that we have enough to go around. I'm sorry but we have to follow the rules

Go back and listen to some of her older videos she'll say they asked her if she wants extra but don't tell anybody. She was also going the day before the regular food pantry and getting stuff because she didn't want to stand in line with her children. I'm just saying if we bend the rules for some we have to do it for others or people get upset
Organized religion is very judgmental. I don’t care if it is Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Hari Krishna - they all have exclusionary criteria. Wars are fought for religion. What a travesty.
I would not support that “church” they don’t seem very Christian to me.
