@@jameslocklear8284On your radio, you need to set the receiver type to CRSF. Then you select CRSF under tools and your crossfire transmitter will start up and you’ll eventually see the bind menu. Then to bind, with drone powered up, you Have to press the bind button on the crossfire receiver, it turns red, then on your radio hit bind and it will say update receiver, you select yes, after the update is done (about 60 seconds) you should be bound and light on receiver switches to green. You’ll eventually figure it out.

You set up a model exactly the same. For receiver you select CRSF (it is the short form for CrossFire). Next you go into your radios system menu, then tools menu & select express LRS, then select Bind. If you don’t know how to bind ELRS, watch Joshua Bardwell’s video on binding ELRS.
Steve does this Radiomaster bind with all the new RC ERA Helicopters? Im at lost with the radios and unsure what to even get, is there a Radio you woulld suggest for RC EWRA helicopters and Blades helicopters also? Thank you!!!!!
The way it works is like this. Almost Every item in the RC Hobby (planes, helicopters, drones,, cars, trucks, tanks, boats) has a RECEIVER. The RECEIVER will only bind to a TRANSMITTER that speaks the same language. A TRANSMITTER is another name for a RADIO. So when you buy a radio you will want to ensure the transmitter can speak to the receiver. For example, if you buy an FPV Drone with an ELRS 2.4 ghz RECEIVER then you need a radio that is ELRS 2.4. I believe for helis like RC ERA they have a FUTABA RECEIVER which means you’d need a FUTABA FHSS radio or any radio with the FUTABA Protocol such as a 4-in-1 radio.
🇨🇦Great video,I’ll be getting this radio this week with built in ELRS for long range FPV, the JB model. Are you using ELRS on this radio for drones? If not what are you using?🇨🇦
Drone captain.. hey so when setting up crossfire in the model set up page where you can choose the what intena to use. External for crossfire it now gives you a BAUDRATE. ? Which do I choose?
For CROSSFIRE receivers, when you have a CROSSFIRE MODULE on the back of the RADIO, you select EXTERNAL and CRSF and that is all. Then go into the SYSTEM MENU, find TOOLS and find CROSSFIRE and you'll figure out the rest for binding.
How to restore factory defaults ? Ts16s mk2 max? It already not working for when i am at the timer and going back to the home page. I can not see my drone.only the guy with the glider. Thx in avance.
I have a Radiomaster R81 Receiver and Radio Master TX16S, and I'm running Beta Flight 10.8 on Windows 10 Pro. My radio is bound to my receiver indicated by the solid red light but I can not see the movements of the sticks in betaflight. Any advice besides retrace steps?
In betaflight, does your drone move when you move it as you saw in my vid? If no, then your USB cable is not sending the info. If it does move but then nothing occurs on your RECEIVER tab when moving the joysticks... was there a battery connected to the drone and was the RADIO powered on first before powering on the Drone? The other item to look at, more technical, is in BETAFLIGHT under one of the first tabs (configuration I believe) you'll see where there is an option where you can select how your flight controller talks to your receiver with options like SBUS, etc. If everything else is good, then this may be incorrect.
My Internal RF mode during binding says off or CRSF. There is no Multi option. Did I miss a step? I have a Cinelog 35 w ERLS and the TXS is the Josh Bardwell ERLS version.
This is the best TX16S setup video I can find for beginners. Just one thing though. When setting up MODE in the mixer, you chose SB instead of SA (as you used in INPUT). Is it just a mistake? Thanks.
hey so I can assign all the AUX switches directly through Betaflight (for the new radio) because some reviews they remap the AUX switches in the remote before using them in Betaflight! what are you doing is make since, let beta flight tells the AUX I just choose the position after choosing (AUTO) in Betaflight.

Great info and very helpful, but I need a little more help. I have a FrSky SM+ and it appears to have properly bound with my TS16S, I get a solid green light on the RX but nothing works. Can't arm or anything. In BetaFlight on the controller section there is no movement when I move the sticks. Help?
In the FPV world there are a large number of things that could be wrong especially for someone new. What this means is that you'll eventually figure out the issue. Everyone started at level zero in the hobby and when they had a snag, it was trial and error and learning. If you know anyone in the FPV hobby that can physically look at your drone and setup, they could resolve it quickly.
The reason you can’t find a video is because it is super simple to do. If you watch any of my videos of new radios on the market as well as new FPV RTF Kits, I often show how simple it is to connect to a flight sim. Just power on the radio, and connect a usb cable from your PC to the top of the radio. The screen on the radio will ask if you want to use it as a joystick, you then confirm YES. You should be able to figure it out from there.
Steve you are the Master of Drones so I was wondering if you know of a way to connect the TX16S with the Ranger to the Pixhawk C6 or any other flight controller that is capable of autonomous flight using QGroundControl to obtain the long range of the Ranger and autonomous flight of the Pixhawk. This is actually for a watercraft and I have already spend hours reading, testing with no success. I am very fluent in using and programming the Taranis but I don't get the distance. I even tried the Ranger on my x9d Taranis and even though it plugs in to the back, the Ranger will not power up when I power up the Taranis. Help!!!
Tutorial??? You simply plug a USB cable from your computer into the top of the TX16s and then select JOYSTICK on the TX16s. As for the sim… use any sim you like. Just remember that all sims need you to tell it what your input device is (i.e., USB JOYSTICK) and then the sim will need you to configure the JOYSTICK endpoints (move the joysticks around). Every sim is different…. You’ll figure it out.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 Thanks, So I wanted to return the tx16s but the company can’t take it back, but I’ve decided to push on with it and I am following JB’s tutorial with liftoff and its going well. Hi Captain Drone…I have a new TX16s max pro. I recently bond 3 planes with no issues. However the problem I’m facing is this…If I power off the receiver and then re power the receiver, the binding stays. But once the radio is powered off and then re powered back on, I lose the binding and have to repeat everything only to have the same issues time and time again. I cannot find any TH-cam videos that can help me. Any ideas?
Thanks for responding but if the receiver is always in bind mode then why doesn’t it stay in bind mode when the Rx is powered off? I have to re- bind it once when the radio is powered back up?
Hi Steve, this video has been brilliant. I am very very new to the drone world. The TX16s MK 2 is my first receiver however I got the ELRS version which means when selecting ‘Internal RF’ it is only giving me the option of CRSF. Would this affect binding with an EMAX drone? (I have brought the Tiny Hawk 2 Freestyle) Should have I got the 4 in 1 instead? This is open to anyone who has answers! Thanks
Yes, you should have got the 4-in-1 version because now you can only bind to drones with an ELRS receiver that is running the same version as your radio.

Second, how do I go about hooking my radio to my pc for a sim drone game I'm running into a wall lol. Btw I want the Bluetooth so I can use my earbuds and not the speaker in the radio.
Hello "Captain Drone Which transmission version is the better one with the TX 16 MK II for longrange drones e.g. Chimera 7 Pro V2? ELRS with 2.4GHz or 4 in 1 with TBS-Crossfire Micro TX V2 with 868MHz (EU)? Thanks in advance for your answer Many greetings Rolf

Update: After cycling power on/off on the Tx and drone, the arm button now works! Yay! Hello! I'm following your tutorial and managed to get my TX16S radio bound to the drone (Cinebot30 O3 ELRS). I also managed to connect to betaflight and confirmed that sticks respond accordingly in the receiver tab. In the modes tab, the flight mode inputs on the radio respond accordingly in betaflight (angle, horizon) but the arming mode does not. I did set up the arming on/off on Aux 1 per your video (and in receiver mode of betaflight it does respond when I toggle the arm button). I'm not sure why it is not showing in the modes view. Also, the motors on the drone do not spin when armed. Any help would be much appreciated!
BETAFLIGHT configurator is the answer.... when you flick the arm switch do you see the yellow dot move and the screen go to RED. If you are a super newbie, then you probably don't have your left throttle all the way to the bottom when arming.
The radio says telemetry recovered when the battery is plugged into the speedbee Flex 25 and all the switches in the right position and throttle is down. Betaflight shows no receiver signal detected. Any idea what I did wrong? And thank you for your help and videos you put out.@@CAPTAINDRONE798
@@ME-pb3lb Does Betaflight show that it is connected to your drone (I.e., you move the drone & drone moves on screen?). You do have a battery plugged in, right?

only the 4-1 trx16 would have it - i have the ELRS tx16 and i have to go find a vid on binding that as multi is not an option (well it would be with an external trx - no bind option in the tx16 for elrs/crsf)

Thanks for video. It seems to me there is issues with connecting Betaflight with Pixhawk 6C on my Holybro. My drone is connecting perfectly fine with Mission Planner but not with Betaflight, which is weird. It does not recognize port and stays in auto but never could connect with my FC. Now I am pluging computer with FC and I do not have battery in tray. That should not be issue as Mission Planner will do connect all day long like that? btw I do have brand new computer. What could be issue?
Is it possible invert on rx rather then changing drone config?. I e if I already have a elrs setup and I want keep it work with old tx as it was
Receivers do not usually save any info other than the transmitter, so to use a receiver with an old radio, you would have to rebind it.
Thank you so much. Watching all the way from Africa Mozambique and thinking of getting this radio for Sim practice.
Do you have a video on choosing goggles? Is it cheaper to also buy the DJI FPV combo pack just so I get the goggles ?
Anyone can respond. Thank you Captain Drone!

I need help Im using the tx16s with the crossfire module and the Pavo pico 2.5 version I can't get it to bind I updated the module but it won't bind I'm getting a kinda fast green light and a blue light my module is going into bind mode it's blinking green but I can't get it to bind it's been 2days Im Bout to give up
Is this your first time binding Crossfire? Explain what you are doing and I’ll let you know what you are missing or what you are doing wrong.
I updated my crossfire module and my tx16s all went well its a bnf Pavo 2.5 after doing that I turnt on my bind on my remote with the module blinking green I turn on the drone there is a blue light blinking and a green one blinking faster then the blue ..it'll do that with my 16s in bind mode and my module blinking green ..some videos said to tap the bind button on drone one time when I did that the green light turned red stayed red for a min then cut of and came back on a second of red went of and went back to blinking at the same speed as before but still no binding I'm so frustrated and feel like a dum a** plz help Mr drone .. I still love ur videos even if we can't figure it out lol
It'll Turn red only if I push the bind button on the drone while it has been blinking green for a min but it still won't bind even after it does it cycle and only the green light changes the blue light is consistent .the.green one will turn red but like I said if I let it sit itll cut off n go back to green idk I think I need a new one loll

Hi this was great, but how do you bind the new ELRS Radio Master t16 MK2?
You set up a model exactly the same. For receiver you select CRSF (it is the short form for CrossFire). Next you go into your radios system menu, then tools menu & select express LRS, then select Bind. If you don’t know how to bind ELRS, watch Joshua Bardwell’s video on binding ELRS.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 Thank you for the reply. I have to use the ExpressLRS lua correct? Again thank you great videos, have been very help
Starting to love drones
It is an addictive hobby
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 Thank you so much!
🇨🇦Great video,I’ll be getting this radio this week with built in ELRS for long range FPV, the JB model. Are you using ELRS on this radio for drones? If not what are you using?🇨🇦
I have a massive number of radios (4-in-1 and ELRS) and modules (crossfire & ELRS) so each time I review a drone I use a different one
Thanks for looking out
Drone captain.. hey so when setting up crossfire in the model set up page where you can choose the what intena to use.
This is the best video. So nice and clear. Thx
Glad to hear you found it helpful
As noted in the video, I’m using the 4-in-1 version (not ELRS)
This is the best TX16S setup video I can find for beginners. Just one thing though. When setting up MODE in the mixer, you chose SB instead of SA (as you used in INPUT). Is it just a mistake? Thanks.
Same question here!
How do you set this up to iflight Nazgûl evoque? I need help
hey
so I can assign all the AUX switches directly through Betaflight (for the new radio) because some reviews they remap the AUX switches in the remote before using them in Betaflight!
what are you doing is make since, let beta flight tells the AUX I just choose the position after choosing (AUTO) in Betaflight.
YES, I just select AUTO then move the switch. BUT this is only after I have assigned the switches to the drone model in my radio.
is it possibe to let the timer reset every time i change battery? or do i always have to do it manually?
You have to reset manually
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 i was able to set a switch for resetting the timer
@@shotbyarianexactly. That is the best manual way to do it. No automatic way exists.

Hi. Is there a way to buy the internal ELRS modulo and retrofit It into the MK1 MAX?
does anyone know if i need to get a receiver for a nazgul evoque f5 v2 6s hd to use tx16s? idk what type of reciever the drone has with it but it comes with a commando 8 controller, i'm going to get the rtf version and idk if i should buy a receiver in order to use a tx16s
Do you have a video on how to set this up for a Flight Sim? I can't seem to find a video anywhere. :( (that I can understand).
Nice radio great information enjoy the weekend
Help!!!
I’m not at all familiar with the pixhawk C6. The Ranger module is normally ELRS so it would require an ELRS receiver.
any tutorials on how to do the sim on the computer with the tx16s?
Any ideas?
It sounds like your RECEIVER is 100% always in BIND mode, so everytime you send power to it, it is in bind mode.
Thanks for responding but if the receiver is always in bind mode then why doesn’t it stay in bind mode when the Rx is powered off? I have to re- bind it once when the radio is powered back up?
I meant when the Tx is powered off. I should’ve read my reply before I sent it…sorry.
Ah typical 🙄 Okay thank you for your help!

This is an old video so I don’t remember. But normally you set the input and mixes switch the same.
Hello "Captain Drone
Which transmission version is the better one with the TX 16 MK II for longrange drones e.g. Chimera 7 Pro V2?
ELRS with 2.4GHz or 4 in 1 with TBS-Crossfire Micro TX V2 with 868MHz (EU)?

Both are long range. Only difference between ELRS and CROSSFIRE is the weight and price.

WHY would you set up a two position switch for angle and horizon? You'll never be able to fly in acro mode.
when I flip the switch, it doesn't change to aux 6 for the modes. instead, it goes to aux 2... Do you know why I would experience that? Also, will this work?

Internal Multi is for the 4-in-1 chip radios. Internal CRSF means you probably bought an ELRS radio (very different transmitter).
You made this so easy, I'm sure you have this outlined somewhere, I really like the look of your quad, do you have a video or some documentation about it?

I almost have the same set up as you. But I have the cinelog20 with o3 elrs and the tx16 markII max, hopefully I won't have any problems!
Cool...tho i was about to buy one of these but ill have to wait now as only the old model in the uk stores at mo from what i see.
i have a question, so i have a few emax drones with d8 rx, can i get the ELRS and bind to them or do i need the 4 in 1?
You need the 4 in 1
Thank you for the info love the videos also love flying around your place in lift-off
I have watched the video a few times and did each step. The quad is bounded to the radio, but I can get to arm. How can I fix this?
BETAFLIGHT configurator is the answer.... when you flick the arm switch do you see the yellow dot move and the screen go to RED. If you are a super newbie, then you probably don't have your left throttle all the way to the bottom when arming.
The radio says telemetry recovered when the battery is plugged into the speedbee Flex 25 and all the switches in the right position and throttle is down. Betaflight shows no receiver signal detected. Any idea what I did wrong? And thank you for your help and videos you put out.@@CAPTAINDRONE798

Yes, but perhaps not all receivers as proprietary technology changes for manufacturers of receivers.
